Adequate for what we needed- access to Versailles and secure above ground parking. Friendly reception and easy check in. No restaurant although has a good breakfast room. Bar is open in the evening. Hotel is being refurbished which it needs. We noticed an unpleasant smell when we came into the hotel from the car park and did have to ask to change room as the bathroom was very smelly. Hopefully the refurbishment will solve this! Anyway, they were very accommodating and changed our room straight away. Room is ok but again not great for example towels are not bath towel size or very absorbent and no face flannel. Shower gel provided but no shampoo and conditioner. However a shoe shine and shower cap is provided, a couple of cotton wool pads too. There is bottled water provided but not replenished the second night we stayed. Reception isn’t manned all the time so we weren’t able to check if this was an oversight or policy. There is a kettle and limited tea/coffee provided. On the plus side for us, the car park is above ground so we could park our campervan, it’s easy to get into Versailles by bus (2€) and right by a very large shopping centre with various restaurants. Not sure I’d really recommend here or come again but there again it was absolutely adequate for what were our priorities, so I’d possibly sit on the fence and say try it, especially once they have finished the building/painting.

In general we enjoy stay at Mecure and Novotel hotels in Europe. So, we book this hotel thinking this is the same as other hotels we stay. Unfortunately, this became bad ever. We were visiting palace of Versailles and this was the only one available to book. Male receptionist at the font desk was lovely, speak good English and was helpful. Issue is with rooms. We first received family room on 2nd floor and bathroom smell bad. there was a serious problem with water draining system. So we weren't able to use the bathroom and receptionist had to move us to 3rd floor family room. 2nd floor room was in a good condition except the bathroom. 3rd floor room was horrible. very old and smell bad/ bathroom is mouldy. We just managed to spend 1 night and left around 8am. very short stay but not happy at all. We book Mercure on Accor website and on booking.com every time. Very bad experience. not sure we can trust you anymore. From United Kingdom.

1st Room was well below the standard I expected for a four star hotel, we were upgraded to a better room after the first night the room was more like a four star, what we should have had in the first place!
