« Disappointing »

After a long tiring day travelling from the UK and looking forward to a quiet drink in the bar before bed it was disappointing to find that the bar area was still full of other peoples left over glasses and snacks. We had to clear a table to sit at it. We were eventually served by a very stressed barman who was obviously working in the restaurant. We felt we were very much an interruption to what was happening in the restaurant. We understand that the hotel was busy but that is not an excuse for neglecting other guests. Perhaps the hotel should employ more staff during busy times. On the plus side the room was fine and the breakfast was very good.

« Sadly nothing like a 4* hotel! »

I booked the Novotel at Bordeaux Airport as I presumed, because it was labelled a 4* hotel, it would have 4* facilities and amenities, but I was sadly disappointed. Arrival at reception was good and our visit started with high expectations, sadly this did not last long! On arriving in the room we both wanted a further pillow. I went to reception and asked for two extra pillows and was told to look in the room and I would find them. I went back to the room but couldn't find any extra pillows, so I tried to call reception, but the phone did not work. I returned to reception and said I had tried to call them on the telephone, but was told that the telephone system was not working! When I returned to reception, I was very much treated as if I was either blind or stupid not to be able to see them, a member of housekeeping came with me, reluctantly, to the room and pointed to the empty shelf where she then realised that there were no pillows. She went off and came back with two pillows, but with no apology from anyone, obtaining them had been an unpleasant experience. My booking confirmation stated "a safe in the room and a mini bar". But the safe did not work and when I asked reception for assistance (obviously having to actually go there yet again as the phone didn't work!), I was told that the safes are all out of action! The mini bar tuned out to be a small fridge with one single bottle of water and two very small 'one portion' pots of milk. This is not a mini bar! And one small bottle of water is not sufficient for a double room for two people. Tea and coffee making facilities were appalling. There are no china cups, but two paper cups and a wooden stirrer! In a 4* hotel this is totally unacceptable. And even more so in a time when disposable items should be avoided. A 4* hotel should not only be judged by the amenities available to guests, which were very inadequate, but predominantly by the service and frankly the service I received was barely applicable to a 2* hotel. This is the first time I have been in a Novotel, usually using Mercure, but I am absolutely sure it is also the last time.

When we have a morning flight from Bordeaux we always stay the night before at this hotel. The staff are charming and friendly, the hotel is conveniently situated for the airport and the food in the restaurant is excellent.

We always stay here if we have a morning flight from Bordeaux. It is very convenient, the staff are exceptionally pleasant and efficient and the food in the restaurant is excellent .It is a great start to a holiday.

The stay was good except the initial greeting at the reception by a young lady. To be kind, I would say it was "unwelcoming". This quickly changed when a very friendly older lady came to the reception, answered my questions, was very helpful and changed our room she described as "much better room". Otherwise, everything was good.

« Room clean but drink making facilities in room lacking, hotel needs a refurb. »

I use this hotel because of the Tesla Superchargers. I arrived late and left early. I ate in the restaurant and the food was ok. Service in restaurant good but I had to be asked to be served in the bar. The hotel looks dated now and carpets need replacing. Paper cups provided in the room with only 2 tiny pots of crema one of which was open and had gone mouldy. I had no drink before my early departure. At this price I would have expected far better. Only 1 bottle of water provided in the fridge.

« I have stayed at this hotel previously and probably won't stay there again »

Service at this hotel has definitely declined since the time I stayed earlier in the year. The focus is on business travellers and everything is geared toward that aim. As a result everything is a little hurried and impersonal. As an Accor Gold member I receive a welcome drink from the hotel. Travelling as a couple every other Accor hotel that I stay in offers drinks to both people on the booking. Not this one! One drink between two people. How do you choose. A double room booked for two people, but only one bottle of water to share. You definitely get the feeling that the hotel is run by the accountants. Service at the bar here is terrible. The barman was away from the bar during the busy early evening (6.30pm) service period (apparently making a phone call) resulting in six people waiting at the bar for fifteen minutes for service. Eventually the lady receptionist attempted to serve everyone. As a Gold level Accor member my wife and I were made to feel anything but welcome. Doubt we will stay again.

staff/rooms/cleanliness - all were fine and we enjoyed our stay overall, especially being so close to the airport however, the food quality was far below par and could only demonstrate the cooks' complete lack of professionalism/care (unedible crust of cheese left in burger - etc...) we had traveled to the same hotel outbound and this trip only confirmed our initial opinion

« Comfortable and convenient hotel. Breakfast expensive and not clear it wasn't included in room rate. »

The hotel was nice. Clean, conveniently located and comfortable. The room rate was reasonable and good value for money. However, it was not clear that the breakfast was not included in the room rate and what the charge would be. The final charge of around 16 EUR per person seemed quite expensive. I ended up spending almost as much on breakfast as I did on the room.

« Just ok »

The room was very small for 4 people and the auxiliary bed for the kids was broken. Although the staff tried kindly to fix it, the repair was just ok. We were to tired to ask for another room so we just forget about it. The day after, after exposing the situation in the front desk, we were invited to the breakfast, which was a nice touch from the hotel. But you should have better beds in the hotel
