« poor service for such a category of hotel »

It can happen that the heating system breaks down, but I expect the service team to fix it after notification or at least to find an alternative solution. Arriving back in the cold room in the evening 13 h after the notification with no improvement is completely not acceptable. Furthermore having to discuss with the stuff another 30 minutes to make them move doesn't make things better. The only reaction was happening after I was ready to go to find another hotel for the 2nd night of my booking. Totally incomeptent service team! Management not available even doesn't call me back upon request. Big room for improvement! The room service "forgot" to fill up some items after use during the 1st night of the stay... I hope it describes well what to expect or not to expect during your stay in this hotel.

« Overall OK, but some things to be improved »

Overall OK; the new reception and breakfast/dining area is original, appealing and comfortable. The staff were very helpful. On the down side, room soundproofing is far from adequate, I unwillingly pulled the mattress cover sheet and I saw a big blood stain on the mattress that didn't let me sleep well, and as usual in any Novotel hotel in France, breakfast is far, far, far from what I would expect from a four-star hotel. That kind of baked egg mousse that is offered as scrambled eggs looks bad and tastes even worse (I hope it was tasteless; that would be better!), and coffee is really undrinkable. There's also a Nespresso machine but apparently it's not available for guests... This type of breakfast may be acceptable in an Ibis budget hotel, but not at all on a four-star hotel –for me it is such a letdown that it makes me think twice before staying in another Novotel in the future.

I will return with thanks however the price is a bit high compared with other nice hotels in the area... Good bed, nice shower, big TV-screen - however never used it. Friendly stuff. Housekeeping forgot to fill up, but the colleagues at the reception corrected it immediately.

« Very arrogant female staff »

I was send away at the breakfast buffet because the lady closed the buffet at 09.25 hour. Asked for a paper cup, she gave me the “go away look”. So after this bad experience I checked out at the front desk where the next arrogant and very grumpy lady was sitting. Without a smile, without asking how my stay was, actually without any form of normal behavior she tried to wipe me out of the hotel. I asked to print the invoice because I need it for my business administration. Yes I NEED it printed, otherwise I need to print it at home. The grumpy women said: “it is not possible” I said: “I see here several printed invoices at your desk” Grumpy: “yes that’s for groups” Me: “so it IS possible to print” Guess what happened? Yes with the most grumpy face I have ever seen she printed my invoice. It was the worst start of my day as a gold member of Accor. This “staff” has NO idea what gastronomy means: ZERO!!!

« Loved our stay »

We arrived at the same time as a functions many guests, and a coach load of tourists arrived, so the lobby was chaotic, but we were greeted straight away, and quickly got to our room. Newly refurbished, clean, comfortable and a good size with a huge Tv. The coffee in the room was not great, but it was nice to have it there. Cold water in a fridge was very welcome, and useful to keep our Camembert cool! We took dinner in the hotel, it was a good quality meal with an excellent choice of freshly prepared food. Try the local wines, we took our waiters advice and had a glorious bottle of locally produced Marsannay Les Aiges Pruniers. A very comfortable bed and a decent shower in the morning led to a good buffet breakfast with a great choice of hot and cold food. We appreciate the professionalism of the staff and management, and will definitely be returning to this hotel.

« Nice place for a short stay. Good location if you have a car. »

Room clean and neat. Nicely equipped. I did not ask for a contiguous room, but door was open as I arrived. No major issue. No physical reception, which was nice, but I spent like 5 min figuring out where the reception person was (A guy with a laptop on top of one table). Good breakfast,

It was good. I like that you are a dog friendly hotel. The only downside was the food. We ate ate your restaurant and two of the three meals we ordered were not cooked. We had a steak and hamburger and both were still raw on the inside despite specifying it should be well done. Overall the stay was satisfying but the food was a bit of a disappointment.

The room we had was bigger than we expected. The beds were very comfy. The breakfast was ok, not a lot of choices. Overall it was a good experience. The appearance of the hotel from the outside definitely did not reflect the state of the rooms and main reception area. The outdoor toys do need some repairing.
