As usual, I'm booking my hotel room using the app. Despite the fact that I can't select room with breakfast from the initial screens (always need to modify the booking after), things goes ok. Arriving at hotel, I asked for the breakfast details and I was asked to give allowance for 190€ (ie 20€ more than others). After some talking trying to understand why, i give up and the check in went more or less ok. I put luggages in the room without having a look at the room as my teammate were waiting for me for diner. Few hours later, back from diner, I open my room and find out that the bed was not done...

I am sorry to read that you have been checked-in in a dirty room. As I can understand, This room was clean on the screen and because of this, we provide you it by mistake. I really do apologize. Be sure that no one was affected in this room this day. Regarding the amount asking at the reception, I would like to reassure that it was not a payment but only a pre-autorization. To keep you healthy, we ask you at the check-in time an estimated amount of the stay, which it is used at the check-out time to settle the invoice. Like this, you just have to touch one time the pin pad and our reception team stay healthy too. Please rest assured that we are taking the appropriate measures to address the problem and prevent future occurrence. Check in was excellent the lady on reception Explained all the changes in great detail. The room was clean, basic and minimal. Limited toiletries and towels and no tea and coffee making facilities. These are on reception and this was explained to us. The air conditioning was adequate in hot weather. Just one issue. The dining room at Breakfast was very crowded, everyone appeared to go in at the same time. Probably not helped by a couple of families with several young children all going to get their own food numerous times making it very congested. I think this could have been helped by limiting numbers/giving reservation times etc as in the rest of the hotel all precautions had been taking to social distance. An enjoyable return stay in these tricky times.

For this reason, we provide you anytime all the additionnal furnitures on demand at the reception, like the extra towels, tea and coffe facilities and all of the things that you need during your stay. Regarding the breakfast, as I can see, you stay was in a last minute hight period. Even all the safety measures are done, and the signs sticked on the floor, it is always complicated to regulate people in this area. The service in the restaurant for dinner was excellent. The staff were very friendly. The hotel is located close to the motorway and was a good stop after crossing the Channel tunnel. Lot of option for breakfast.

The check in process was clear and easy. The rooms were almost next to each other (there was the main stairway between them) and one was filled with the smell of cigarette smoke.

Nice clean hotel, with a private car park. Next to an enormous shopping centre - Primark, just across the road! Plus loads of restaurants to choose from. The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. A good choice for breakfast... gorgeous crossaint and pan au chocolat.

Room clean and ready for us including the children's bed which was perfect. Booked dinner on arrival for 7:00, but restaurant had no record when we went to sit down. Restaurant managed well but we still felt awkward. When checking out reception had no record of our meal bill, which I had to inform them of, so not perfect service on this occasion. Really like the hotel and will stay again, particularly like the mall across the road which gave us an unexpected shopping opportunity.

Following above, we found the car had damaged (dent in wheel-arch) in the car park by unknown person. Perhaps the marking out of spaces could be improved but driver education is a different responsibility, nothing to do with the hotel!

Nicely refurbished hotel with generally pleasant staff and reasonable restaurant. Sadly marred by a sleepless night in a boiling hot room (in December) with aircon that switched off when you tried to put on cool. Tried opening a window but proximity to the motorway made that too noisy. Mentioned all this at checkout but no apology. Oh - and we had to remake the bed to get rid of a mysterious lump in the mattress cover.

Great service from the restaurant at dinner and breakfast. The waiter who has been there a few years was so lovely with our elderly Labrador at dinner. (He has one too). Great new coffee machine at breakfast, other Novotel’s need to upgrade too.
