In these uncertain times a little pampering and luxury is needed to boost the spirits. Sofitel Gold Coast is the perfect relaxation venue. Service as always was of an excellent standard. Nothing is too much trouble for the friendly, helpful staff who are always willing to go that extra mile to ensure your stay is an enjoyable, stress free experience. The standard of cleanliness and Covid-safe practices to ensure guests' safety was reassuring.

stayed the one night, room was amazing with the spa. The pool area lacked ambiance, there was no music, no need to want to enjoy the space and stay around. No staff offering beverage service - not too sure if this was offered prior to covid.

What a great one night stay! Beautiful room with the most stunning views of the ocean. We had a great sleep on a comfortable bed. Enjoyed the pool and spa area. The location was perfect! Not a good stay. We waited for a 1 hour for ice for our room and 1 hour for room service and the meal was a small and cold for $28 each burger. We did not know about the 1 of the restaurants was close when we booked.

Lovely night to get away. Staff friendly and efficient. Only drawback was at night there was only Luke warm water for a shower. We called reception twice who said they would get the technicians and come to the room (from my understanding but I may of misunderstood) onto it but never got any feedback as to what happened and the water temp was the same. Morning it was ok though.

The rooms have been renovated since my last visit. They look great. I recognised the person at reception as someone I had met previously which was really good. All the staff members were very helpful. The only disappointment was that we had to have dinner in the room but it was reasonably good - the steak was great but a little more sauce would have been appreciated by both of us. The bedding was great as always and I slept very well. I did find the Bonjour a little strange - it really does not fit with the Gold Coast too well.

We booked direct with the Hotel, but no one told us most facilities at the hotel were not operating, eg no lunch and evening dining, pool bar, minibar. We felt like the hotel had taken the opportunity to vastly reduce services, for example to make our morning coffee we had a paper cup and wooden spoon provided, but outside in the many cafes, ceramic cups and real cutlery are freely available. Real wine glasses were however available in the room, which begs the question if its possible to clean wine glasses effectively, why not cups and cutlery? There was no minibar, instead the tv advised we could order from the minibar list in the room (which wasn't there) and pay $8 per delivery. There was no service of any kind in or around the pool area, including the adjacent restaurant/bar. In fact, other than 1 housekeeper the only staff we saw were behind the reception desk. Provision of toiletries etc has been reduced (presumably under the Covid safe banner) but seriously, how can providing a disposable shower cap increase risk? No lunch or dinner service of any kind in the hotel restaurants, even though the entire surrounding neighbourhood was teeming with busy restaurants operating effectively under covid safe regulations. Too difficult or too lazy? In short, we felt like we'd paid 5 Star price but the Hotel management are taking the opportunity to provide a 3 star experience and use covid as the excuse.

We thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated the upgrade to a suite, thank you. Check in was smooth and friendly. Only small hiccup was with breakfast in the cafe. The food took about an hour to arrive as apparently the kitchen printer was faulty and our order did not print out and waitress took a long time to follow up the order with the kitchen. The waitress was friendly and apologetic. However, you would expect given that their was only one other table occupied at the time we ordered that the waitress or the the chef in the open kitchen would have noticed there was a problem before they did. Food when it did come was OK but not great. We requested softly scrambled eggs and they were certainly not that - but given the delay really did not want to suffer another long wait to have corrected.

Had a great getaway with my wife. Front desk gave us a voucher for two drinks We used it for coffee on the morning of check out. Dissatisfied with two things: 1. We specifically asked for the two coffees to be take away. The lady turned up to our room and they were to drink in. We said we asked for takeaway. Instead of fixing she just apologised, had no idea how to fix the issue for the customer. She handed us a bill, we advised we ordered using the voucher, handed her the voucher, she said all good. 2. Today - I got charged +$10 for the privilege Just wrecked the experience - not the $10, but the fact something so simple was so difficult PLUS I eventually paid MORE for that poor experience.
