The Hotel is nice and located in the center in Solo City. In the Room, I was not happy with the towel, it does not look clean and already old. It need to be replaced by the new towel.

Satisfied on Novotel Solo's Services, but disappointed with Novotel Suites Yogya

I have been an Accor member for many years. So far I am satisfied with the products & services provided, so the Accor Hotel group has always been my top priority during business or leisure trips. The experience of staying at Novotel Solo (Check-In: 02 Oct 21 and Check-Out: 03 Oct 21) was quite satisfying, because I got good service (as always), got a clean room with a bigger bed than expected, although the hotel facilities & furniture are quite old. Overall product & service is OK. Unfortunately, I had an unsatisfactory experience, when I stayed the next day at Novotel Suites Yogyakarta (Check-In: 03 Oct 21 and Check-Out: 04 Oct 21). I planned to stay at this hotel for two days (03-05 Oct 21), but decided to shorten the stay to one day & asked for a refund for the remaining one day. The disappointment at Novotel Suites Yogya started when I checked in at night, got a room (735) with a water leak under the sink and a clogged bathroom sink. After complaining, I got a replacement room (719), & was quite satisfied with the handling complaint. Unfortunately, the next morning when I entered the restaurant for breakfast, I was informed that breakfast was only valid for one person & had to pay for 1 more person. I complain that in another Accor hotel group (Novotel Solo) and other hotels usually get 2 free breakfasts, & there is no note that it is for 1 person. The F&B staff informed that there had been a policy change, & she said that maybe the receptionist didn't explain when checking in. I asked to meet with the F&B manager for an explanation, but was informed that it wasn't there yet. Finally, we were allowed breakfast for 2 people. At breakfast I was approached by the staff as captain of the restaurant who apologized for having missed information between the receptionist and the restaurant due to the information system being out of sync. Because I feel a lot of problems, while I assume that the hotel accor group has always been part of my accommodation during my trips, I asked to meet with the GM for input. The captain said that GM hadn't come yet, so I asked for GM's cellphone number but he said he didn't dare give it. Finally, I went to the receptionist to ask about the possibility of shortening the stay, after explaining my complaint and again asking for the GM's cell phone number. The receptionist said he couldn't give a cell phone number, and she would cancel the process for the next day stay. There was no attempt to hold me back or cancel the shorten the stay. While waiting for the process to cancel, I was told that I would meet the person in charge for complaint handling (he is a senior staff member where he was the front office manager). He was kind enough to listen to my complaints, and finally helped with the cancellation or refund process. To be honest, I didn't want to give this feedback so I didn't reply to the sharing experience for the emails sent twice by Novotel Solo, because I was considering not staying in the Accor group again. However, I changed my mind with the consideration of improving service to other guests, and I have had a pleasant stay at the Accor hotel group for many years. Fyi, Novotel Suites Yogya has not sent an email regarding the feedback sharing experience until the time I write this feedback. I hope the Accor hotel group can provide the best & better products and services. Please keep your spirit: "Your Satisfaction is Our Priority"

The hotel wasnt as amazing phisically as i visited before. There are some unsatisfying experiences such as hair at the corner of the room that hadnt had cleaned properly and some mold and damp spot at the bathroom.

I doing my 10 days trip to Solo, Bromo and Yogja, booked the hotel thru Accor, based on my experiences using 4 different hotels, Novotel front office so far is the most helpful, nice and very welcome. Hotel condition also good, especially if its compared with the hotel rate (beyond expectation). I hope your hotel more success in the future in many ways.

I am a Gold Accor member and have been a loyal novotel solo visitor since 2015. However, in 2021, I really feel that when it comes to greating the FO staff for the first time and the information I got at the beginning, it doesn't happen automatically. 1. Usually we are Gold/Silver members when we first arrive, we are always offered a Welcome Drink / welcome drink voucher to be used at the Coffee Shop. (This time it didn't happen). 2. Usually we are gold members after being informed that our order will be automatically upgraded to a higher room (That has happened) after that it should be accompanied by information that gold members may late check out (That only happened after we asked) 3. We arrived on September 15, 2021, 23.30 pm, on the morning of September 16. The food should be delivered on the 15th, delivered on the 16th. It's appreciated. On the 16th we had to check out, then I decided for the length of my stay from September 16-17, 2021 and we also informed that on September 17th we would have a late check out at 15.00. It means that it should have been recorded on the computer that the guest will be late checking out at 15.00, but why on the 17th I was contacted again by the room at 11.00 that our check-out deadline was 12.00. Was the information we informed that we would be late checking out wasn't recorded?? 4. Usually if we extend our stay either at Novotel Samator Surabaya, Novotel Semarang, Novotel Solo in the past, Mercure Darmo Surabaya will still be sent both snacks / pieces of fruit when we extend our stay (But yesterday it didn't happen at Novotel Solo). So in the end, I feel that Novotel Solo is getting more and more yesterday, not getting more advanced in terms of service, but getting backwards in terms of service. If this happens to me as a Gold Member, then the service will definitely be worse if I am not a Gold Member.

The people are excellent. Friendly, polite, so hospitable. The hotel itself seemed to have downgraded a bit from the last time I stayed there, before Covid19 in terms of food and physical condition. But with the price it offers now, I cannot complain. Price of buffet breakfast is very affordable. The room is bigger that most hotels in Solo.

relaxing transit

I styed twice in this hotel on February 2021 due to transit and need to take a rest during my long trip. It was very pleasant stay, as platinum member the hotel offered me with welcome drink and cake, afternoon tea and snack and also late check out. the breakfast arrangement was good, they give option to be delivered to your room or in the restaurant with prebooking schedule to avoid crowd.

Very old hotel

Stayed here for 3 nights with my family and was not a memorable one. Building is very old, with outdated design and interior in need of urgent major renovation. There is smell of humid / moldy in elevator, alley, and inside the room. Service was good and food was acceptable. But it needs a full blown renovation to keep up with its 4* brand. Wouldn't stay here again on my next visit to Solo.
