I am sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations; please allow me to express my sincerest apologies. At Ibis, we strive to provide a superior service experience for every customer; therefore your feedback is very important to us. The night of your stay we had a very busy night due to cancelled flights to Madrid. A lot of people were coming in late in the evening and therefor more people than usual were passing by your room. Sorry for the inconvenience. The same with the temperature that it was not working properly. I have shared your comment with the technical department and they will check directly the heating system in the room you have stayed 3403. Hope you had a good trip and for now stay safe and next time when you are not happy with your room we are more than pleased to change you to another room. I had to wait for my transfer flight for 20h so I decided to spend a night in this hotel due to its proximity to Schiphol airport. It was nice experience, rooms are clean with big TV, bed is comfortable, staff is nice and welcoming.

Good for Short Term, Good Price, but Smelled Like Smoke

I stayed for only one night, in advance of catching a morning flight from Schipol. From that perspective, both the room itself and price were very good. Also, it was good to be able to purchase some food items downstairs during the evening. However, one thing that really detracted from the experience was the fact that there was a strong stale-cigarette-smoke smell lingering in my room and in the hallway. I don't know if this was coming from somewhere outside my room, or if a previous lodger had smoked inside my room, but the smell was significant, which is surprising, considering the hotel is supposed to be a non-smoking facility in its entirety.

I stayed here just for the one night. It was a good, clean and comfortable room. I’ve arrived in the hotel quite late, at 22.00. And I was pleasantly surprise to get an opportunity there to buy some food and drink, including beer and wine. Tea and coffee were freely available. There were friendly and helpful stuff. Also this is an excellent benefit to have a free shuttle bus fom the airport and back, but it’s really pitty and uncomfortable that is only one time per hour. For example I had to wait for 50 min. The taxi’s price is €20. So keep that in mind!

The basic accommodation I expected. I was last off the transfer bus so had a queue ahead of me at check-in (faster check-in would be appreciated - why not do it online?). No check-out, though, made up for it. Almost didn’t get on the transfer bus back to the airport - the driver said he was full when the person ahead of me boarded (again I was at the end of the queue) - more scope for improvement (eg, online booking, so if the bus is full you have time to make alternative arrangements). Room was ok - noisy ventilation system and no working extractor in the bathroom, but a cheery design. Food availability was restricted by Covid precautions; I settled for a hotdog which turned out to be flooded with mayonnaise and barely edible. I booked at the budget Ibis and was upgraded to this hotel, so the value for money was acceptable.

When it is full, he will take the guests to Schiphol and return immediately to pick up the other guests. When it gets busier in the hotel, the shuttle bus will also start running more frequently. I am frequent to this hotel at schiphol airport. The small detail of a written card and a surprise at check in for frequent clients is a nice touch. Happy that my request for a room with a bath is nearly always granted.

Where to start? Booked the hotel on Monday 21 December - no mention of a €10 booking fee in confirmation emails. Tuesday 22 December in the late evening - I get messages from my bank of possible fraudulent transactions - 4 times €10. Fraudulent transactions -> I blocked the card. Wednesday 23 December in the morning - I had to call the hotel to guarantee my reservation, paying €10. The same afternoon I flew to The Netherlands from Ireland - WITHOUT a physical credit card. The booking experience itself was satisfactory. The payment system not charging €10 _AT_THE_TIME_OF_ booking is not. This has left me without a working credit card in hand at the start of a journey where The Netherlands was a transfer stop, extremely dissatisfied. The cost of the stay as indicated when booking the room was taken on arrival at the hotel, as expected. The ADDITIONAL €10 transaction to guarantee the reservation was not deducted from the cost of the stay. I feel robbed, and the added inconvenience of not having a working card in hand right before the start of a journey only adds to the dissatisfaction. The experience in the hotel itself was satisfactory and met expectations.

I am sorry that your experience with the reservation did not meet your expectations; please allow me to express my sincerest apologies. I have checked and what I can see that the 1st credit card was not working because the system was not able to proceed a pre authorization of €10. This we do to see if the credit card is working and to guarantee your room after 4pm. They have tried it 2 times and therefor your bank may noticed this as a fraud. Next day on December 23rd around 10am when you have called we took €10 to see if this credit card was working and this time it succeeded. Upon check-in my colleague should have explain you that we always do a credit card check by taking a pre authorization of €10 and that we will charge you the total costs for your stay upon check-in and the €10 will be released after paying and showing up on your account again after 3- 5 working days. Sorry that we did not inform you and I can understand that is not a nice start of your journey. I can assure you that we will take the right steps to avoid this issues in the near future.
