Overall a mixed experience. The hotel is big and it looks like it is hosting at 90% families visiting Lisbon (during this summer period) with a lot of small children. Many french and spanish families. The result is that everything (the lobby, the breakfast room, the pool, and even the elevator) looks like a children playground, and you quickly get tired of all this mess. 1) The room The receptionist told me she upgraded us to an executive room as I am a Silver Accor All member. I am not sure what makes the difference between standard and executive. The room is good but nothing special. The bed is comfortable. The bed sofa for our teenagers as well. There is a coffee machine in the room, a mini bar. Cleaning service every day. A surprising thing: various objects were hung on the wall askew! Note to the hotel management: buy a spirit level at your local DYI shop for your maintenance team! 2) The elevator Believe me or not, during "peak hours" (morning and end of the afternoon) you have to wait for a while to get an elevator. Its capacity seems to be undersized compared to the requirement. 3) The breakfast If you wish to take a quiet brekafast reading your newspaper, choose another option. The buffet itself is very good. There is everything you can expect in an international breakfast buffet. And the quality of the products is good. Really. BUT... The problem is the customers, not the food. It feels like these hundreds of people have not been eating for several days, there are running, screaming, not respecting queues, passing in front of small children... 4) The swimming pool If you are looking for a dream pool to spend your day under the sun, this is not the right choice. The pool is just ok for a quick dive at the end of your day visiting Lisbon. The hotel is situated very close to the airport, and a big plane is passing a few meters above the pool every minute (before landing). The pool is not so big. The sunchairs are "not so fresh" i would say (look at the picture). The hotel provides 1 pool towel for each customer. 5) The fitness centre Poor experience. On 3 equipments: 1 is out of order, 1 is half half and 1 is working. There is no towel available and no paper/gel available to clean... Conclusion: this hotel is ok if you visit Lisbon and look for a place to sleep. It is close to transports (bus at 3 minutes, metro at 10 to 15 minutes by walking). But there are too many customers and most of them can't behave. This is not a cozy and quiet hotel.

Not sufficient staff and elevators

The desk was always short of staff and there was a que. Only 2 elevators out of 3 were working and they were full to capacity by the time they got to me on the second floor. You had to wait a long time to go up too. I was supposed to have a fridge and a safe in my room and I got neither. The restaurant was excellent although it appeared that it was the women wait staff who did all the work.

The rooms are spacious and comfortable for a short stay. The pool is lovely and a big draw to the hotel. The hotel is not I'm the tourist district but in the commercial district but relatively near a metro station so that was OK and worth it for the pool. The situation with the lifts/elevators is unacceptable. 3 small lifts for such a large hotel and 1 broken for our entire stay with no sign of it being fixed. This led to large queues and as there are some high floors not always an option to walk. This let the hotel down.

An holiday is by definition means "to relax away from the day to day concerns", in novotel this is not true, we were plagued with leaking sinks, loud drilling in the room beside us at odd hours of the day, staff that would do the bare necessary or outright ignore us, an extremely noisy air conditioner, cheap bathroom accessories and of course payments for everything requested. An end to end overview of the processes adopted and a maintenance of the room BEFORE a guest stays there is needed. There is a small place selling good indian food just around the corner at the mosque and there are two metro stations nearby within walking all in all a good location but then there are other competitor hotels in the neighbor hood who also offering these features...we will be staying one of these competitor hotels the next time we visit, as "well located" is a side benefit and not a feature.

It might be an important location business wise, but definitely not from tourist point of view. Long and complicated check in. My Diamond status was not recognised, i requested a room on a high floor, I was given floor 4. This was actually luck, because of the 3 lifts, one never worked and there were long queues going up and down. Wifi has been the worst ever found in a hotel. Breakfast was good, for 3 days they had no feed eggs "because they had no eggs". Staff were doing their job, no sympathy, no smiles. The top was check out, were the lady requested an additional 280 € (from my rough checks, she owed me 400€), then she wanted to refund 120 . Very unprofessional, no apologies, nothing. Swimming pool with fifty water, no showers, housekeeping ladies were actually throwing us out of the room... I didn't want to do this report, I requested the hotel NOT to apologise with their copy and paste answers. They did. It means they didn't read carefully what I have written. Never, ever again in this hotel.
