Generally, I had a good experience with your hotel. The location was very convenient, within walking distance from the venue of the conference I attended. On the other hand, it was rather noisy on Friday night. The hotel had everything I needed, although the breakfast restaurant could have been cleaner - there were bread crumbs on the tables and seats and sometimes the tables were not set for late-comers. I appreciate a very comfortable bed and dressing-gown.

Although the location was perfect and the staff was friendly upon check in, there were a few issues and disappointments. The pool was half filled with green disgusting water. The hotel website’s pictures of the rooms don’t depict the aging. The rooms looked old, especially the carpet. Also, they smelled of cigarettes. Gross! I’m typically pleased with this hotel brand, but I was extremely disappointed and embarrassed in front of the guests I was hosting from out of country.

Our hotel is entirely non-smoking apart from a designated outdoor area but unfortunately, not all guests are respectful of our rules. It was a good stay. Noisy garbage trucks early in the morning. Parking was slightly more expensive than public parking garage and could be reached from the hotel lift. Unfortunately the car had to leave around midday which was a bit of a drag to move the car before day trippers filled up parking garages. (It was a Saturday check-out).

Very basic room and service, cannot cool down, the temperature was set centrally, was too warm during the night.

Hotel was well situated in the middle of the city. Parking space available in Hotel but unfortunately no charging station for my electric car which you would expect for such a Hotel. Room was ok but could use in futur an update. Breakfast was good. Bar is modern and bartender friendly Big negative point was the Wifi. This was broken and did not work at all !! As a business traveller this is something we can not miss. Did not receive any compensation or excuse even though i am a silver member.

One day my room was not cleaned (the housekeeping was out) and I called to reception and Mr. Laurens gave a quick and good solution for me. After just 5 minutes he was on my floor with a new key for change in a new room. That solution exceeded my expectations!

The hotel is very well located in the centrum, breakfast was okay, Junior Suite room was spacious. BUT it didn't have any meaning when there was a repeated issue with bathroom water (water supply, shower pressure) during our 5-days stay. Already 2-3 times told Receptionist to fix this, but no improvement. On the last night, even we could not use shower at all. Neither no apology to this situation until we checked-out. During check-out, there was a mistake that the Receptionist created second reservation into my credit card instead of cancelling the first reservation. But he kept insist no mistake. He gave me the printed receipt and said actually he could not give me the printed receipt. Need two times explaining to him by showing him the printed receipt that he gave, that he did a mistake. Both stated "reservering" and not "annuleren". Finally, he corrected it. Anyway, still no apology coming from him. It looks like Novotel (specifically Ghent Centrum) needs to improve their customer handling mindset
