For a Saturday night no food or bar service. To me completely wrong since your are an airport hotel. Not much around the area for food. Restaurant I was to was good also closed so walked around to find food. Wouldn’t recommend to stay at this hotel again. Very disappointing Room was clean and tidy. Best part of the hotel.

I preferred Novotel since I heard from my friend and from the comments about the hotel. We stayed in room 403 with my wife and 2 kids (8 and 3). Pros - Features in the comments such as distance to the Zurich center, price-performance comparison and compatibility for families with children were the things make me choose this hotel. Cons - When we entered the Room 403, the smell was very bad in the room and toilet, spicy and urinal smell. A/C was open to circulate the air inside, but it was not enough so we tried to make it by opening the windows. All the bed linens, pillows were full of this smell. They looked clean but I guess they were not washed as it should be. Plus, the second bed (sofa, armchair for kids) was very uncomfortable, we had to sleep together (2 adults + 2 kids) at the main bed. The sofa must be replaced with a new one. Because it was late and we were tired, we just stayed and I did not inform reception at night. A valuable and famous with its cleanness and comfort, these cons should not come together with Novotel. While checkout, I gave all these info to the hotel manager (a blonde lady). She apologized and took the necessary notes. I can only recommend because of well location, good for families but the cons I stated above MUST be solved.

Location - 10/10 (Besides tram station) Value for money - 8/10 (This hotel have offered me late check out at 2.00 pm). Car Parking - 1/10 (Have to pay 20 CHF per day for a car parking, in Grindelwald, i only pay 5 CHF per day at 4 star hotel. Hard Rock Hotel in Davos offer free parking for their guest).

No priority check in Same breakfast for 5 days No welcome drink Front desk staff was rude and not friendly The telephone did not work and was not sorted for 5 days! When reminded the front desk the answer I got was “interesting” ! Nothing done after that!! How rude and disgusting is that !!

Tired and tattered hotel

I was shocked that such a tired, tattered and dirty hotel is in the lovely country of Switzerland. The carpet looked and felt 10 years past its prime. The bathroom sink was stained. The walls were dirty and marked. The baseboards were marked up. The bed mattress pad cover wouldn't stay attached to the bed because it was ripped, etc., etc. I have stayed at Novotel's before and this one was the worst one by far. In fact every Ibis I've stayed at has been nicer. It really put me off to the Novotel brand. I will definitely not stay at this Swiss Hotel again.

Hi BeforeI stay in the Novotel in Hong Kong and was super happy. In your hotel I was disappointed because the restaurant was not open and by booking I don’t have see or it was not mentioned. The hotel looks also old. About service I had a much higher expectations compared with Hong Kong. If I knocked before I had selected on this price level an other hotel.

Using the pandemics as a lame excuse to try and justify low quality is not correct; above all when it comes to benefits we all work hard to deserve as high-tiered members: I felt unvalued as a Platinum member in this Novotel unit, unlike in ALL others in the world! My review on Trip Advisor is pretty detailed already, so please check it for more; take the chance to answer the many ones left unreacted for years - does management realise that the reviews are free consultancy, in which we take our time and energy to point out what's right and what's no working? The least management could do is to check them weekly and respond warmly and thoroughly. I was charged phone calls which the receptionist made very clear would be free of charge! Besides, I was granted lat check-out at 17h and got called 4 times for there was no written register of that. Housekeeping stormed into the room with me in and without knocking and reception called me asking bluntly "are you still in the room??", hanging up without an apology - is this standard treatment in this Novotel?? I look forward to the reactions here and there and whether management shall show any kind of care and attention in practical terms, for the tasteless stay doesn't make me consider the hotel another time, mostly for not being valued AT ALL as a Platinum member. The 'loyalty' programme there should have its name changed to NOTHING instead of ALL!

Good Points. a. Close to airport. b. Tram just outside the hotel Not so good points a. Cockroaches found once entered in the room. b. City centre is 20-25 minutes away, can become a problem, if you leave luggage and go on city tour. you will need 1 hr to get your luggage from the hotel and plan forward journey from HB. c. The room needs bit of uplift. Not like other novotel hotel standards. Reception was good in service and offered complimentary things for the inconvenience in the room

A very disappointing experience

We were extremely disappointed of our recent stay at this hotel for multiple reasons: - Breakfast was very boring with little variety in terms of fresh fruits, vegetables, pastries, etc. The hygiene measures were also disappointing as guests were left to reuse the same cutleries to serve themselves. Why not provide disposable gloves? Are we expected to constantly use hand sanitizers?! - The interior of the hotel was a total run down – old carpets everywhere, damaged hallway walls, etc - The hot water in the bathroom was a frustrating experience. Each time we needed to shower, one had to wait more than 5 minutes to get hot water for no obvious reason. And then water fluctuated between cold and hot, making showering a very unpleasant experience, especially for the little ones. - And the worst experience we had was that we forgot our 4-year old’s trainers in the hotel room. We only realized that in the evening after we checked out. I tried to call the hotel that evening, and after multiple attempts, someone finally answered the phone and told me to call back the next day to enquire about the lost trainers. The next day I tried to call the hotel but no one would answer. I sent the hotel an email explaining the issue; I got a reply a few minutes later advising that no trainers were found by the housekeeping staff. Being 100% certain that the trainers were left in the room, I made more than 50 attempts during that day to call the hotel until someone finally answered my call (how come the hotel front desk or some other staff don’t answer incoming calls?!) and was quick to tell me that no trainers were found. I told him where exactly the trainers were left in the room and asked him if it’s possible to check again. He promised to go check and call me back (he didn’t bother asking me what they looked like, etc, a sign that he wasn’t planning to go check). 24hrs later, there was no call from the hotel. This makes me believe that someone at the hotel was not being honest with me – either the trainers were found by the housekeeping staff but were not reported, or no one actually bothered going back to the room to look for them. Such dishonesty and suspicious staff, and as my son spent a couple of days crying because he lost his preferred trainers, has earned this hotel a generous 1/10 point!

the hotel was well located and price was good, personal was helpful. Few things could be improved, for example the hotel key cards were not working on every afternoon and we had to go to the counter to get them activated again, the shower was not working properly, we explicitly said several times we were traveling with two kids and they did not seem to take this into consideration: the sofa bed had no sheets when we came and then they provide only for one person instead of two

Convenient location

Conveniently situated a few yards from a tram stop (Lindenburgplatz). This is a smart hotel with comfortable sized rooms and friendly reception staff. The real disappointment was the breakfast--a modest selection of cold cuts and a curious selection of hot (?) dishes. The pork slices in vegetables looked like left-overs from the previous evening's dinner buffet! The breakfast room was rather grubby.

I really would like to raise alarm about the conditions and services of your hotel at Novotel Zurich Airport. I received the below confirmation from your hotel, which states that I am due to pay at the hotel and have had to make millions of calls to someone to understand in plain English to confirm that there is nothing due and it’s been paid for except city charges. 1/ On the 14th, I called up to check re the shuttle services and also asked if there is a restaurant in the hotel - your colleague told me that there is one available on the property. I reached the hotel and found that it was not open and closed due to servicing Ukrainian Refugees: the guy I spoke with l, should have told me of the same and this would have saved me money and efforts to go out again to organize dinner for the family after a long day out in the city. 2/ we were offered a room and the room was absolutely filthy - I phoned the guy to ask him to change my room and he declined, the shower didn’t have warm water if you don’t keep it running for half an hour (that’s surely waste of water whereas some of the African countries don’t have enough to drink unless you tell me that you guys re preserve the water and reuse it - I would urge you to share the technology with other countries to maintain the water level so that kids don’t starve or walk for hours to get some) 3/ AC/TV not working - I phoned your colleagues who came up and told me that there is no technician available to fix the issues and we would have to live with it. TV - she managed to fix which later stopped working. 4/ not enough clean towels and duvet/blanket - why the hell are you running if there is no enthusiasm to offer people what they have paid for? I agree that you are offering this to refugees but they do deserve some respect and something like this is not acceptable - it is just that they cannot raise voices but I can since I have paid for the services and received none. I also saw Swiss Crew who may have landed from India flight checking in hence why copying in Swiss CEO and Star Alliance CEO - why don’t they check the services and facilities before they expose their people and ask them to stay at such filthy places? Please do review their services and change the hotel for the well-being of your crew because if you don’t look after your staff they won’t look after your customers.

The check-in experience was very cold, the checkout was inexistant. The girl at the counter litteraly said ‘bye’ while looking at the computer screen (was 6:30 AM but still…). The only perfect part of the stay was the breakfast and the chauffeur of airport shuttle who did an excellent job.

I did the online checkin 1 or 2 days before arriving. but nothing was ready, the amount of CHF170.00 prebooked on my credit card was not found either! I had to pay the room before getting my room with another card.

We stayed 3 nights during the week and enjoying the good location near the airport but not far away from the Centre. The stuff always was there to help. The breakfast is good and offer enough choices.

The first room we were given had a major fault in the bathroom. There was no seal at the bottom of the shower door in connection with the edge of the bath, therefore when I used the shower the water ran down the shower door, through the gap and flooded the bathroom floor. We had to move rooms. This shows poor or non existent maintenance, and a lack of checks by management to note these defects

After several cancelled flights due to severe UK storms we arrived from Geneva by train to a warm welcome from Reception staff. The table football was a great hit with our grandchildren. It made all the difference after our stressful journey, and an excellent buffet brreakfast in the morning put us in the holiday mood.
