Ascenseur/Lift not signposted. At breakfast, bowls and cups unavailable unless requested. Bowls, cups not hygienically handled (held by thumb/forefinger inside those items). Cheap, nasty pillows retained and reflected heat. Only one extra pillow for twin bed room. Did not appreciate the search for toilet flush mechanism. Should be indicated. Contortion required to access toilet roll holders. Poor design layout Expected more room at foot of bed compared with Budget ibis.

As a member it is still cheaper to book on line, so despite not being allowed that rate as a walk in, we went out into the car park and booked. Check in was relatively smooth. Remote control didn't work and after 3 replacements. We were moved to another room. The room we thought smelled of cigarette smoke and again, not bothering to have checked, the remote control didn't work. We also found an unused ashtray in the room. I thought it was law that you couldn't smoke indoors other than in your home. Anyway, we were switched to a third room and everything worked but now a much smaller room. Breakfast selection was good, however the hygiene standards weren't what we have ever experienced in an Allcor Hotel. There were pieces of broken China in the well of the coffee machine and it generally looked messy. The trays were stained and the cutlery was badly water marked. First time Bad Review but the place needs a good shake up.

Concerning the second room, it was a smoker’s room, hence the fact that this one smelled the smoke. For the breakfast, we recruit a new manager who is doing his best to improve its quality. When I arrived at this hotel, I noticed that it had a Courtpaille restaurant attached to it. I was very pleased to see this, because all my past experiences with Courtpaille have been positive. Prices are modest, the food is good and service is normally very fast. Courtpaille restaurants are also normally very clean. Unfortunately this Courtpaille was a bad exception. This response facillity does not allow me enough characters to describe this disaster of a restaurant but I will summarise:- They are slow to clean up soiled tables vacated by a previous customer. The Head Waiter (or restaurant manager) was stupid, slow and lazy The waitresses (all coloured girls) seemed to be behaving like robots with no initiative of their own Quite possibly they may be demoralised by the fact that they have to listen to customer complaints caused by the laziness and stupidity of the Head Waiter or restaurant manager. I had to ask 4 times for my wine before it was served. When I got my wine, another couple raised hell, because of a long wait before their main course arrived. The hotel was exactly what you would expect from a red Ibis. If you were travelling as a couple and you have a lot of luggage, a red Ibis standard room is cramped.. The hotel has a free car park, which can get quite full. However, there is more parking round the back, plus questionable parking spaces which you can probably use without being penalised. If the hotel is very full then wi-fi connectivity deteriorates, especially at night, because hotel guests tend to leave their phones on at night and each phone takes up bandwidth. However, the hotel has multiple networks. When I comlained about signal strength at front desk, the girl gave me the password for their conferene network. I had complained about the poor restaurant service, on the first day. When I checked out, the hotel I found that they had cancelled my restaurant bill, so I got a complimentary meal, although I had to fight for virtually everything I ordered. Hopefully, Accor have taken remedial action by now, so this review may not be a reason to avoid the restaurant.

The hotel did it's job. It's close the the Old historic centre of Montferrand, which is charming, if you misread the map and go the other side of the road you're likely to be offered drugs. It's two km from the historic centre of Clermont Ferrand, with a great, cheap, tram service from Lafontaine Ferrand stop, 1.60€ each way The centre of the city is beautiful and charming. If you're coming for a holiday, rather than travelling through, you'd be nbetter asvised to stay at a place in town, Novotel Suites for example.

Very supportive and dedicated staff (helped with parking, postal requests etc) and rooms are clean and functional However, rooms were lacking basic services (no toilet brushes, no cleaning service during the week potentially due to COVID)

Well sited, easy to find from the motorway. P!enty of free parking. Courte Paille restaurant attached. Small bar area plus seating outside. Good quality food in the restaurant at reasonable prices. Normal Ibis room, small but adequate. Good service, friendly staff. Would stay again if in the area.

I was really positively surprised with this hotel. It is pretty basic, yes. But the room I was given was rather spacious and very clean. It was also quiet, and I enjoyed a good night's sleep. The breakfast had a broad selection, for a French hotel - I've been in some 4* that offered less choice. No scrambled eggs though. But most of all, and what made my stay deserving a 5 rating, was its staff. From the hotel receptionists to the cleaning personnel - all very kind and welcoming. Definitely will stay here again when travelling to Clermont-Ferrand.

the bed was dreadful - very uncomfortable and hot. Neither of us slept. The blinds were very tatty: one was ripped and the curtain was not properly attached to the wall. The bathroom needed serious updating - the wall behind the loo seat was stained and the shower stall was a mess

For an overnight stay the hotel was good but I have stayed at many Ibis hotels and this rates as one of the poorest I stayed at. Nearly every hotel have given very good to excellent service. The hotel was very difficult to find, I have no satnav. The bathroom had a shower over the bath which I find difficult to use due to age. The staff at reception were very good, but the restaurant staff were not to friendly and twice I had to chase up an order I made.This will not stop me using Ibis hotels again as this was, hopefully, a one off and all other times the service and cleanliness was excellent.
