« Well located »

This hotel is extremely well located, near public transportation (bus from airport, tram), near the city center and also supermarkets and shopping center. The most negative point was the temperature in the room. It was so hot that even turning off the heating we had problems sleeping.

« Well located but too expensive considering basic bathroom »

All was OK in the bedroom. But the bathrrom was very small and unpractical. Impossible to use the toilet without bumping into the door. And the shower had very little pressure and the water temperature was very unstable, fluctuating from cold to almost burning. In the end, the price tag was a bit too high for the experience.

Rooms could do with tea and coffee making facilities. Hotel under refurbishment at the moment it would have been better if we had been told of this when we booked.

Rooms were overheated making sleep very difficult. We had to open the windows and were then disturbed by traffic noise and sirens. But staff was very helpful and allowed us to change rooms- though they were all overheated.

« Central Location - at better end of budget hotel standard »

Very short walk from the cathedral and main streets. Tram and bus stops outside. Nice enough room - bed was comfortable and there were sufficient charging points, including USB outlets. The shower was very good. If staying more than one night,by putting a tag on the outside of the door you could opt to forgo room cleaning/towel change. You then get a voucher for a free standard drink (beer, wine, soft drink or coffee) in the bar. The breakfast was continental - but with a very good range of excellent quality items. It was very easy to choose healthy options eg seeds, yoghurt, fruit. Only one negative: there was no kettle etc in the room.

« Excellent Stay! »

We appreciate the front desk staff, the double set of doors making the room extra quiet. The shower area needs a renovation. The bed was very comfortable. We had a strange occurance with the TV, which came on unexpected at 4 am. No alarm was found and in the end, we requested it to be disconnected.

The location is good. Team and services are OK The breakfast service not so good There is no dedicated place near the entrance door for fast unloading / loading.

The hotel is perfectly located as far as access to the airport bus, which is also the same bus that goes to St. Jean train station. It is a 5 minute walk to the cathedral and another 5 minutes to the heart of Bordeaux city. The staff were helpful, the room comfortable, quiet and standard for an ibis hotel. The let down was how run down and basic the fixtures, bathroom, dining room, bar were. The lounge and reception area are being renovated right now which means the first thing you see on arrival is building work and the basement smells of paint and dust. A mention of the renovation work would have been welcome at the time of booking so this did not seem to be very transparent practice.

« If I wanted to stay in a sauna I would have booked one !!! »

After arriving relatively late in the evening and got the rooms for my collegue and myself on virtually the top floor and preceded to go out to eat with another colleague. Upon returning to the hotel the room was swelteringly hot, almost unbearably, so I tried moving the dial on the aircon to reduce the heat but nothing was happening so I switched it off. I went to the reception to tell them of the problem and was met with cynicism and was told that despite it being 17 degrees that day it was winter so the aircon was off and only the heating was working ! I asked the receptionist to come to check the room himself and was told to just open a window and if it was still hot in 15 to 20 minutes then he would look at changing my room, by this time it was midnight and I was already exhausted so opened the window and the door to the room to create a draft and tried to sleep...unsuccessfully ! awaking at 04h00 as I need to be at the airport for 05h00 I went to take a shower and yet another problem no hot water !!! Disgusted, I washed my face in cold water, dressed and went down to return the room key before leaving. I found out from my colleague staying in the room next to me also had a sauna for a room and he on the other hand had no cold water, only very hot ! I am also very sure that I had left my watch on the sideboard in the morning and being unable to shower had left it there. This is not the first time I have had a problem with an Accor hotel.

« Good stay as usual - except all guests came away with bites! »

The hotel was undergoing some renovation in the reception area but this didn’t disturb us at all. The room was of the clean comfortable standard that I have come to expect and enjoy from Ibis. However on this occasion (the 3rd time I have stayed at this Ibis) I woke up with 10 itchy and painful bites all over my legs, as did the friends staying with me in the room. This was so so disappointing considering my previous good experiences here, and not what I would expect from Ibis and Accor.

The check in process was not very welcoming. There are renovations under way, which made it difficult to find the front desk. There was no “welcome back” for a club member. The room was too hot and the temperature control didn’t work.

« Hotal a mess with building work »

My room was in poor condition. The TV surround had been damaged, presumably, someone had tried to remove it. The bathroom had a nasty dirty spot in the corner of the shower, management should check all rooms for the overall condition at least once a week, do they? Breakfast service was very busy, OK well done on making so many bookings in December BUT someone needs to monitor basic supplies. The Coffee machines ran short of product pretty much everyday meaning big queues for the remaining machine.

« Reduced service since last visit »

On our last stay at the hotel earlier this year, we had to complain about lack of replenishment of tea & coffee in the room. On this latest stay the hotel seems to have resolved this by removing this service entirely. We also had an issue with only one set of towels at the previous stay. This time there were only two bath towels and no hand towels. The whole point of staying at an IBIS is to be guaranteed a level of service but in Bordeaux it seems to be very hit and miss. We asked for a quiet room, were told the room was the quietest but all night there was a loud noise from the ventilation fan which could not be switched off. The reception area was undergoing renovation - we should have been notified when we booked. There is no security in the hotel. Anyone can use the lifts without having a room key. The overall feeling is that this hotel is badly managed compared to other IBIS hotels that we have used.

« All OK except the restaurant »

Lobby, room we're all good. Room better than expected. Restaurant is nothing. Food is eatable, champagne was warm, breakfast was chaos with lack of food, coffee machines out of order, staff in panic. 2 days in a row.
