Tive uma estadia muito boa no Novotel Frankfurt no começo de janeiro. Os funcionários são atenciosos, o quarto e banheiro são espaçosos e confortáveis. O café da manhã também é muito bom e variado. O único ponto negativo é que a ventilação do quarto é extremamente fraca, o que nos obrigava a abrir as janelas, porém o barulho do trem era muito alto.

The front desk staff is good. Special shout out to Philip S. who was excellent - friendly, helpful, and patient. Unfortunately, the hotel is quite dated and it shows in just about every aspect. This is the third Novotel I've stayed in across three different countries - the other two were very good. This is certainly NOT a 4-star hotel. The lift and hallway stinks of sewage or mold - can't say for sure - and it is not just my experience - search other reviews here and you will find that guests have been complaining of this for many years. The air conditioning did not work properly and it was so hot even in the winter that we couldn't use the blankets. I had 2 rooms and the problem was with both rooms. The rooms themselves had cheap- looking furniture with no facilities provided like clock or bottled water. I was also hit with surprise charges. After a 9-hour flight, when we reached before 11 am, we were told to pay 30 euros for each room for "early check-in". I paid the fees but we weren't getting both rooms on the same floor. Philip offered to return the money on one of the rooms - 4 of us (2 adults and 2 teenagers) huddled in one room for 4-5 hours. Also, the booking was with breakfast included but somehow the reservation was for only 2 people. So, we had to pay 42 euros for 2 more people per day for breakfast. The breakfast is pretty basic and definitely not worth 21 euros each. If you look at the hotel rates - it is generally 70-80 euros with breakfast. All the extra charges inflated that rate much higher. It is good that the hotel management takes time to review and respond to these reviews. I don't appreciate that they try to "sanitize" the reviews as if they were an isolated experience of a particular guest. The problems I've noted are long-running and the extra charges are facts to note for everyone. I'll let the reader draw their own conclusions.

I would like to go into detail here about the points you described. First of all, thank you for the great praise to my colleague. We appreciate it very much and I will of course pass it on. Please accept our apologies for the odor problems during your stay. Indeed, there were problems with the sewage disposal. You are correct that this problem has occurred several times over the past few years. However, they are indeed all isolated incidents, usually damaged sewage pipes on the 2nd basement floor, which we fix as quickly as we can. Unfortunately, the building is constructed in such a way that the elevator shaft acts as a chimney and sucks the odors upwards. I regret that you did not like the look of the furniture. It is custom-made furniture of the high quality. However, I must admit that the style of the furniture no longer corresponds to the current zeitgeist. Newly built or freshly renovated hotels are much less sterile in design. According to our system records, you arrived at our hotel shortly after 10 am. The regular check-in time at our hotel is 3pm. For a surcharge of 30€ (as an ALL-member also free of charge), and subject to availability, check-in is also possible earlier. Of course, the choice of rooms is then limited, and usually it is not possible to allocate several adjacent rooms, if you have not booked this service in advance. I have also checked your booking again in detail. You had booked 2 rooms for one person each through a travel provider. To queries about the booking, why was not booked for all people, this is the right contact. Here on site you have to pay in such a case, of course, more persons. This applies both to the breakfast, which correctly written by you 21€ per person costs, as well as actually the room. There, an additional person is charged with 20€. The latter surcharge was kindly waived by my colleague for both rooms. I am sorry that you did not like the price/performance ratio of our breakfast. The breakfast price is strictly calculated and we recently had to increase it due to the sharp rise in food purchase prices. If there is anything you are missing, please feel free to ask our staff about it at any time. We try to make everything possible that is feasible. If you have specific suggestions for improvement you are also welcome to let us know. Thank you for appreciating that we listen to the feedback of our guests. However, I am also sorry that you perceive our responses negatively. Each and every guest opinion is the highly personal perception of the individual guest. There are very many factors in the course of a guest experience that have an impact on the overall picture. In the end, what counts is whether or not we have managed to convince our guests of our merits, despite all the positive and negative influences. I must say here clearly that we succeed with almost all of our guests. Of course, this does not change the fact that certain problems occur from time to time - your analysis of our ratings in this regard is correct. These recurring problems that you have noted are especially problems of a technical nature that can occur again and again despite good maintenance. Of course, we react to them immediately and do everything we can to eliminate the problem in question as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, the underlying architecture of the building is our adversary, which does not make it easy for us. Dear Rahul, please do not understand my answer as a justification for problems that have occurred, much more as an explanation. I am very sorry that you were disappointed by your stay with us and that you had hoped for more. This Novotel is dated. It did supply breakfast but the bar/restaurant was not open. The rooms are small and lacks facilities. The noise of the train line right next door is ridiculous if you want the window open as the A/C does not work well. The lifts stuck of sewerage/rotten eggs. Not much to do in the vicinity. Would not call it City location - it’s a bit deceiving for travellers as there is nothing to see close by. If visiting Frankfurt i would suggest to stay near the main rail station.

The restaurant was indeed closed in the evenings for a few days between Christmas and New Year. However, this was an exception that was necessary for organizational reasons around the turn of the year. Our reception can help in such cases and offers both information for restaurants within walking distance and open as well as contact information for delivery services whose dishes you can of course also eat at our tables in the restaurant due to the closure. We can also help you with information on how to explore the surroundings and the city from the hotel. It takes about 15 minutes from the hotel to the city center. We will be happy to help you find the right way. I am sorry that there were problems with the ventilation in your room. I suspect a defective valve in the ventilation control of the room. Despite good maintenance, these are unfortunately quite error-prone. Of course, we will fix this as soon as possible. I hope we can still welcome you again and wish you a wonderful time. This hotel has lovely clean rooms with plenty of space.The breakfast buffet was really good mostly businesses people staying.We were on a coach trip this was our base.No bars or restaurants nearby,the bar closed at 10.30 no atmosphere. The evening meal was terrible with no choice,just sat down and take it or leave it.
Dear Mr. Sloan, thank you very much for your feedback. I am sorry that you did not like all points of your stay. Our hotel was chosen by your tour operator, who is aware of the location of the hotel. Even though we are not located directly in the city center, we are quite centrally located and everything is within quick reach. There are also plenty of restaurants and bars within walking distance through the neighboring university district. Our recommendation flyer available at the reception contains a selection of 15 restaurants and bars within walking distance, several of which are open until late at night. I regret that you did not like the dinner. We had received mostly positive feedback from your travel group on site and even adjusted the menu at your group's request. However, it is true that it was a menu without choices that was booked that way. There is only the option to order alternatively a vegetarian or vegan dish or of course to respond to existing allergies or intolerances. But I will gladly pass it on to our kitchen team that it would be desirable to have a choice option, especially for groups that are several days in the house. It's an old hotel. Not so very clean and the air conditioning wasn't working! It was very hot and we couldn't sleep with windows open because insects started coming in from outside! The hotel is also understaffed and was a bit stressed. Definitely not in the same quality as other Novotels we've been to and frankly paid way too much money for the quality of stay we had.
