I stayed at NOVOTEL Southampton for one night due to essential travel for work. The entrance was clean and inviting (in this difficult time) and the staff were masked, helpful and cheerful. The room was extremely clean. There was still a choice for food of which I only required breakfast. The next morning, I was very surprised to answer the door (exactly on time) to a lovely lady, masked and gloved, with a tray of fresh breakfast, coffee and orange juice on crockery. I was expecting a takeaway bag so this was a fantastic surprise.

Cold room

The reception was fine and the hotel is clean but showing its age somewhat. The main issue was that the room was cold and the panel heater did little to alleviate this. The bed was comfortable but the duvet was a bit small so I got a cold back. Food was just about OK but acceptable under the current conditions but the cereal came with no milk.

I was kept awake all night by the noise of containers being shifted in the container yard opposite next to the police station. No sleep !

Stayed in an executive room for one night on a necessary trip during the COVID crisis. Room was clean and staff were very pleasant. Room service for breakfast and dinner was fine. I had booked an executive room which did not have the Nespresso machine, bathroom, slippers, newspaper, iron and ironing board as advertised. This was a pity as I wouldn't have spent the extra had I known. The hairdryer also did not work, which the staff were very apologetic about but would expect these things to be checked.

We booked into your Ibis hotel but was upgraded to the Novotel what a nice surprise we enjoyed every minute until we where woken up by the fire alarm but it didn’t spoil our stay to much

Good hotel, paid for an executive room but didn’t get any of the in room benefits so had to spend time at reception to resolve. The rooms are the same so wouldn’t pay the extra in the future. Due to covid there were some changes, wasn’t informed fully especially as the gym was pre book only for 20 minutes which is not great. Breakfast was impressive though really good eggs benedict.

Service was really good, like a few more people have mentioned, the room needed a little bit of an update, the guy at breakfast who took our order and was serving was amazing and definitely needs to have some recognition. I felt really bad for him as he could have done with another member of staff. But I would still recommend. Staying again

Our room was very comfortable and suited us for the one night stay. We had a private 20min pool session which felt very safe and the water was warmer than a lot of hotels. The staff at breakfast were excellent, very attentive and friendly, and they were very careful once I explained my son had allergies. Overall it exceeded our expectations

Heating not working had to wait some time. For a heater which wasn't that good NO PHONE in the room fire alarm went off could not find out why we were given a disabled access room which we didn't need but why have a disabled room on the 4 th floor. Especially when the fire alarm went off an you are not supposed to use the lift very very poor So I would not book with you again

It was better then expected but the only thing was that there were no heaters in the room that just let us down abit apart from that everything else was great
