This is not for publishing: The door to the bathroom of room 519 still does not open and close smoothly. And you have no choice of "small flush" and "big flush" for the toilet, only "big flush", which is wasting water, which in turn seems to run contrary to your hotel philosophy of eco-friendliness. On the other side, we love your concept of two doors between the corridor and the bedroom, ensuring maximum peace and quiet, which of course is quintessential for a good night's sleep, as are your well-sound-insulated windows. And we dislike wall-to-wall carpeted hotel rooms and bathrooms, which you fortunately have NOT opted for. And we don't care much for the almost ubiquitous set of shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, shower cap, sewing kit, you name it, that you thankfully leave out: it is a waste of plastic and products.

Parking was good the receptionist was welcoming and the communal area was bright and clean. The breakfast selection and service was excellent. The downside was no restaurant and room 203 was not at its best, ie odd curtains with different lengths, black marks on curtains and bathroom although clean looks as though an update is needed.

« Hotel in the centre of town »

This hotel is situated in an office complex in the centre of town. Parking is provided in an underground car park. We saw little of the staff but the room was very comfortable. Breakfast was ok but the lady on service was not very happy. Chateauroux was a bit shabby with not much to see.

IBIS was its usual: just perfect. The reception is always impeccable, the room clean and tidy. However, La Scala was this time a bit of a disappointment; it was really not very good. But, its the only restaurant open on Sunday, so we should not have reason to complain. Leif S..

Hotel very good. Clean and tidy. Reception staff delightful, stay only spoiled by breakfast overseen by a miserable lady who did not keep the platters up to date and at one stage there was no ham, cheese or fruit available.

The entrance of Hotel might need to be refreshed. The escalator area is really dirty. Not really pleasant when you arrive and it can leave a negative feeling.

« Basic, clean but hardly any breakfast left by 9.30am »

Disappointed there wasn’t much food left. We had travelled 10 hours the day before so didn’t get up until 9am, by the time we got to breakfast , there was no fruit, no milk, no juice, a small amount of bread & no pastries. The waitress (who was also the manager) got us a bit of fruit but not much else was forthcoming .

« Excellent hotel »

Very clean, very comfortable. The car park under the hotel, with reserved spaces for Ibis guests, is a real bonus. Just one black mark : on our way to and from the funeral of a close friend, we stayed at this hotel twice in three days. Almost immediately after our first arrival we sat in the bar/reception area and ordered two beers, followed by another one beer. We paid in cash. It wasn’t until we got home and compared the two bills that we realised that those beers had been added to our account. We have no proof of having paid cash, so have not taken the matter up with Ibis. Just thought I’d mention it here, though.

In temperatures of 40-45, the Integral underground garage with Ibis-only spaces was a godsend. Hotel itself is clean, comfortable, well managed, with pleasant and helpful staff. Lots of restaurants and shops within very short walking distances. The only reason for rating “very good” and not “excellent” is that we woke up with itchy bites that we didn’t have when we went to bed — probably flea-bites. The hotel accepts dogs, and if course some people allow their little darlings to sleep on (and sometimes IN) beds intended for human beings only. I would like to know if it is possible to specify non-dog rooms.

« We always use Ibis. hotels if possible »

One knows exactly what one is getting in an Ibis hotel. Delightful staff, white cotton sheets and towels and everything spick and span. Perfect for a stop over. Love the one in Chateauroux where you get extremely safe parking under the hotel.

We arrived in pouring rain but once we sorted parking with the hotel the situation improved. Reception is on 1st floor which is not good if one has a mobility issue. Whilst there is no restaurant for dinner at the Hotel, they recommend 6 external restaurants where a discount can be obtained by presenting your room number.

There are always nice staff ; Estelle, I think was the name of the girl on reception when we arrived, this time and last time! Hope she has had some time off in between! Central, good car parking, clean, white cotton sheets and towels, hairdryer. I suppose it is fairly basic but cleverly designed so that one has everything one wants for one or two days. Haven’t tried the breakfast. Perfect stopover and nice restaurants in walking distance.

« Excellent except for access to my room »

The experience was marred by the fact that for the past two days the elevator is not working. Apparently this isn't covered by "Mission 15 - the smile team" 8 flights of stairs each way is not what I call satifaction, had to go up and down 3 times yesterday. Could you please give me a list of what is covered by "mission 15" because it seems to be unless we can fix it in 15 minutes - it doesn't count, which is a bit of a scam to be honest. I doubt I will get a reply as it will probably take you longer than 15 minutes thus rendered defunct

Dear MICHAEL PAUL D., Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience at the hotel Ibis Châteauroux. I am sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations. We want to give you an answer about your request about the lift and « Contrat 15” The lift of the hotel was out of order from Monday afternoon at 15h30. One mechanical piece is broken. The maintenance has ordered immediately the piece for to be change in emergency. Wednesday morning at 08h00, the society who is an charged on the lift process to replace the piece. In an total, less 48h00, to order one piece and replace it. We can assure you that all the services done the maximum to find an solution quickly. When you come back at the hotel Monday night, you asked your disappointment . The receptionist proposed you another room an another floor ( 02eme) and proposed to help you to move your luggage in the new room. With this solution, only one floor by up stair to go up and down. We are sure that the hotel done the maximum to reduce the disagreement and this solution is an answer about Contract 15 minutes. Sorry if the answer proposed by the hotel don’t corresponding to your expectations. We inform you that the lift is now repaired. Best regards, Xavier H. Assitant Manager
