The hotel is nice, the staff was very pleasant. We stayed there off season so there wasn't a lot of people. We were on a business trip and only stayed one night. The hotel isn't new, but I thought that the room was clean. There is quite an unpleasant smell in the room though, I believe most likely coming from the carpet on the floor, which is either plastic or almost like plastic... There's coffee and tea in the room, which was really nice on a cold fall afternoon. The hotel may be a good base for those who are exploring the area and/or visiting American Cemetery in Normandy. Breakfast was excellent. Again, there were only a couple of people in the breakfast room because it was off season, but the spread of breads, pastry, cheeses, fruit, jams, etc. was very good! Eggs, boiled and scrambled. Very nice variety of coffees. The hotel is part of a golf resort (or the other way around) and hotel staff told us that if we wanted to go golfing, we would get a discount as hotel guests. Hotel is located in the middle of some farmland, so if you're travelling during the farming season, be prepared for some assaulting scents around you... Overall, nice, pleasant quiet property.

« Queue cutting experience twice in the same day »

I was not happy due to front office personals (a man and a woman) let the priority who want to buy drink and refills theirs beers ahead of me, twice. I wonder would they let it happened over again if I did not complain about incidents. I also have a noisy neighbor and have to change the room during the night. Very unpleasant experience, I will never go back to stay there. Sad to witness a Mercure this unprofessional. I was about to consider recommend my team to host a conference here, but after these incidents, my decision is NO, absolutely not.

My experience was great at the hotel. The room was clean and spacious. However, if I may, you should have fresh pains au chocolat and croissant at breakfast and the restaurant should be open longer than between 7.00 p.m. and 8.00 p.m.

Good welcome, room satisfactory but rather cold heating not working properly so was provided with an electric heater also did not work so plugged in one we had with us on the trip. Got the room quite cosy

« Accommodation was adequate but food was poor and overpriced. »

We only stayed in the hotel for one night. Reception was professional and friendly. The evening meal was poor quality yet expensive. Then breakfast was much the same. We would not choose to repeat the experience.

I was extremely disappointed with the hotel. The room had an awful plastic smell, there was no milk to make tea, no cup (only paper cups!), the towels were old, the bathroom was dirty. I am only 5'3" and found it impossible to have a bath - why advertise that a room has a bath tub which is too small to use? The shower leaked water all over the floor of the bathroom. I will not be returning.

« Our second stay at the hotel. »

The first room we were given unfortunately we did not like it was quite dark with no outlook. However your receptionists were very good and gave us another room which was excellent. The room we could not fault was spacious clean with everything we would need. The restaurant we thought was okay not great. We went for fish and chips and hamburgers, pasta would have been nice! your receptionist Estelle was excellent could not have been more helpful. looking forward to returning next year.

« Nice home base in Normandy »

We needed a triple room in a hotel with a pool for a child to explore Normandy. This hotel was nicely situated. It has easy access to the area and is a 1 km stroll into Port-en-Bessin for dinner. The town is very compact and offers a nice selection of bars/restaurants. Breakfast at the hotel had everything one would expect. My only complaint was that the room did not have quite enough electrical outlets as one expects in this day of everyone having a tablet and a phone to charge.

The front desk staff was very good and professional. The room needs upgrading we were giving a handicap room which has a different bathroom. Don't know why we were put in this room when the hotel was not full .The sliding door did not lock and we were on the bottom floor which made it unsecure. The restaurant manager was not courteous or professional totally forgot about us when we checked in to dine with reservations, told us the table was not ready and to wait by the bar. We noticed after 30 minutes that several customers had been seated and when I asked one of the staff members they realized that they had forgot about us. when I asked for a specific table since they had messed up our reservation I was told no because it was for someone else. That someone else never showed up and I brought that to the attention of the manager he then wanted to move us to the table, by then I was so annoyed by the poor attitude that all I wanted was my meal and return to the room. We were planning on staying an additional day and play a round of golf but changed our plans due to poor service.

As usual I enjoyed my stay , but the room was not what I expected . I booked a Duplex and got 2 bedrooms ion the 2nd floor , in the part of the hotel with no elevator and no porter service to take your luggage . At my age this was an issue . The rooms had low ceilings which made it difficult to make tea or coffee and also had to be careful walking around because of sloping ceilings , The room for what it was was way overpriced. If I ever went back there then I would call and ask about room before I booked

I have stayed here several times over a number of years and like the hotel - wonderful location, nice setting around the pool and a good restaurant on site. The staff are also very friendly and helpful. However, the rooms have not changed since I first used this hotel and are now becoming in need of updating, especially the bathrooms which are below standard.

« Great end to a fabulous French Holiday »

We have stayed in this hotel several times and always enjoyed it. I was disappointed in the first room we were allocated as it was in a corner with very limited outlook but I requested a better room and the hotel staff managed to make a change. The room was exceptionally clean, and ‘made up’ and drinks replenished each day. Corridor decoration was a little ‘tired’ and could be upgraded. The staff, as always, were friendly and courteous and the breakfast, although expensive at 18€ per person, was very nice.
