Firstly this hotel is less expensive but just as good than say the Hilton. The environment is bright, clean and comfortable. The staff are welcoming and do all they can to efficiently sort out any problems.

The hotel is in a fantastic location, easily accessible from the station and the shortest walk to both the city centre and the riverside area, it made getting around very easy. Check-in was smooth, the staff were lovely, even taking the time to show us on a map what areas of the city we might enjoy exploring. The room was beautiful, spacious and spotlessly clean had all of the features and facilities we would need for the weekend. The bed was comfy and the surroundings were quiet. A great hotel experience.

Having stayed once before, we knew how well-placed this hotel would be as the best possible location for Koln , and it certainly met all our expectations. Friendly, efficient staff able to communicate in English and patiently helpful to those with only basic German language skills. Breakfast is a glorious affair, made easy by the allergen markings on the buffet table with a wonderful selection of gluten-free bread and morning goods. Everything was well organised for the “crazy days” of Karneval.... whacky costumes - anything goes, good but not intrusive security, good fun, great stay.

fortunately this centrally located hotel was the only positive point during my Carnival 2020 experience ... The totally bad weather,rainy and very windy...,the absolutely closure of everything-shops,museums etc...- but brasseries offering only carnival -sausages and Snitzel...food and the bad quality of the whole Carnival ...poor parade and cheap costumes make us deciding that NEVER AGAIN DURING CARNEVAL DATES VISITING COLOGNE... The hotel is a very good one ,quite centally located,with an excellent breakfast,offering mimozas drink,salmon,omelettes and also fillet tartar...and the personel was very polite and gentle.

The distance from the elevator was too far and shampoo and lotion provided me with reused items. And inside, it was uncomfortable because even slippers were not prepared.

I am really sorry for that. I have already forwarded this to our Housekeeping department, to prevent this type of situation in the future. About the distance to the room, we are always happy to allocate you a room near to the elevator. Same with the slippers, which are not a standard in the room, but can be requested at any time. But of course our reception staff is there 24/7 to help you with any issue you might have. It’s the best experience for my Europe trip this year. A Wonderful Hotel with Compassionate Staff

I have stayed at this property for close to 10 years with my husband while attending the ISM, after my husband passed away I sold a business and did not attend ISM for a few years I have since started a new business and came back to Koln, and decided after 8 years to come back to the Mondial am Dom. I was greeted upon arrival from by Marvin Hilgers, the Guest Relation Manager, who remembered me and my husband from eight years ago. Wow. I felt welcomed and comfortable in my entire stay. Breakfast was always good, the renovated room facing the Dom was great (I stayed for many years when the big dig was happening). The only comment I have was that the Philharmonic crowd and dinner. I chose to eat at the hotel twice and was not able to be seated until 8:00 pm when there is a mass exodus for the Philharmonic . When you go to eat at 8:00 the staff is cleaning up after the last seating and trying to catch their breath that you don't get such great service or food as they had a just had a full house seating. Luckily there are many other options close to the hotel. I also missed not having a Bar to have drink after a long day. Overall it was wonderful and I will always be back when in Koln.

quite good - design of room is odd. a chair that would be impossible to sit in comfortably to relax, a mini-bar that is not stocked (shop downstairs is shut at night, so no good there and I do not want to buy lots of different things in case I want then later. Wardrobe was the smallest I have ever seen in the world, any where. It was fine for one night with one person, but two nights or two people for one night would be the most it could accommodate. breakfast good. restaurant good. Shame the Habana has disappeared (it was my reason for picking your hotel!)

I am sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations; please allow me to express my sincerest apologies. We are glad to read that you were very satisfied with our breakfast buffet and service. Unfortunately due to the Non-Smoking Law we had to make this change. We used this change in a positive way and renovated the complete space to a new fresh coffebar with a great selection of drinks (smoothies, refreshing drinks, teas, coffees, juices, etc. and many delicious snacks. In combination we have taken the drinks out of the minibar, as many guest requested to put their own drinks in and also as you get a much huger variety of drinks now in our Legss11. Outside the opening times you get all this products also at our reception. To prevent any misunderstanding we left a note with this information on all Minibars in the room. Regarding the wardrobe, we also regret that we could not fulfilled your expectations. In our renovation works 2019 we tried to improve the room size feeling with brighter colors and an open bath to the room. So all is fluted with light. However due to that our hotel is a listed building, we could not change the size of the rooms. Thank you very much for your constrictive criticism which we have already passed to the corresponding departments in order to use it for future improvements.
