Good Mercure hotel, centrally located, with parking below, good breakfast, classical little bit oldish style rooms, but good comfort and good wifi, Only temperature in room too hot. Friendly service. No keycard, still key at reception. No restaurant

Very satisfactory, the reception staff were extremely helpful and organised our dinner outing on a busy Saturday evening at short notice as we arrived at the hotel at 7sh pm. Breakfast very nice and excellent choice. Very nice and clean room.

« Worse hotel ever been to: money back ! »

I have never been to such a bad hotel in my whole life: it has not been renovated in over 30 years... How can this be 4 stars and branded as Mercure ? Even Ibis Budget is better... I am plantinum member and usually trust the Mercure brand... What a mistake. never again ! I lack words to describe how bad this property is and everybody on tripadvisor agrees. Shame on you !

For this reason, in order to improve the comfort of our rooms and services, a complete renovation of the hotel is also planned, announced in February 2020, after the construction and validation of the first sample room, planned for November 2019. Important investments will be allocated to adapt the hotel to the Mercure standards. Hello, First, upon check-in I was informed that I can not receive the invoice because I requested it too late. I didn't receive it yet. The room was in a very bad condition (falling wallpapers, dirty walls, dirty toilet). I even made the pictures because I was shocked the room at Accor Hotels can look this bad. I am going to post them on Google soon. If you consider it useful I can send them also to you. I received the room in the front part of the building, above the main street, even if I am sure the hotel was only partly booked. I could understand this situation if hotel was fully booked and there was no other option. I was checking out early in the morning as my flight was departing at 6 a.m. so I was able to sleep well because of the noise outside. Overall review is poor as I expect much more from Accor Hotel.

« A pleasent stay! »

It was our first trip to your city. Arriving late from the airport the fact that airport bus stopped at the main station meant that we had no difficulty in locating the hotel - always a source of anxiety in visiting a new city. Our registration was handled most efficiently and we were immediately made feel welcome. Our room was somewhat larger than we were expecting and though the hotel is not the most modern it was not shabby and the facilities were clean. It was quiet and we slept well. We used it as a base for the five days of our stay and we had no real problems. The internet appeared to go down one of the evenings but we were not discommoded by this. The hotel is perfectly situated for rambling throughout the city. We had to print out boarding cards on the Saturday and the receptionist was most accommodating and helped in the use of an unfamiliar computer and printer. The staff throughout were most friendly and alway greeted us with a smile. We will certainly recommend Mercure Bologna Centro to our friends.

Premium location across to train station. Reception was excellent. No valet to help with luggage. Room 313 was old and dusty. Paper cups were used which did not seem to fit the Accor's sustainability development initiative.

Hotel is just in front of the Main station. I planned to visit some other cities based on Bologna, thus it was ideal location for me. The hotel room decoration seems to be tired, but clean and functional. I will stay again there if I have a chance to go back to Bologna.

« Satisfactory but no more »

The hotel is conveniently located for the central station and then onwards by bus for the airport. However, the room I stayed in was very run down with dirty and dated decor. The room thermostat was set to 30 degs when I arrived, so it took hours to reduce the temperature by keeping the window open. With only one bedside light to illuminate the whole room, it meant that the room was very dark - perhaps so that guests can't notice the shabby decor. Breakfast was adequate, but the coffee was unacceptable especially given this is Italy.

We didn't receive a baby cot which was a shame. Location was a bit noisy and room decor quite old. Apart from this we enjoyed our stay.

« Noisy reconstruction until 8 p.m. »

The hotel is expensive. The furniture is old. There was so much noise because of an ongoing reconstruction. Somebody was using a drill or a big hammer right above my head. I do not think the hotel deserves 4 stars. Some members of the staff was friendly. Some of the staff were wearing hidjab - I did not feel safe in the hotel. The walls are thin - you hear people from other rooms at night, you hear noise from the hallway. The reconstruction started early in the morning - even more noise. I cannot recommend this hotel.

The noise you have heard was due to the fact that we have planned a complete renovation of the hotel, first step of it is the construction and validation of the first sample room, started in October 2019 - which was unfortunately under the room you had during your stay. Let me take some time to explain better the reason why you found a member of our Staff wearing the hidjab: all staff members are hired as qualified and able to meet the standards of service required by Mercure. We do not and we will never discriminate on race, ethnicity, or sexual orientation - neither between customers neither among our staff. I regret that this fact has hurt your feelings, but the only things we ask our staff is to respect the sanitary regulations (for which a hidjab that keeps the hair collected and covered is equivalent to a waitress cap), decorum and face recognition as a guarantee of safety for our customers (a hidjab guarantees the uncovered face). « Neglected facilities »

The location is excellent and the reception service is good, however, the hotel is completely run down, neglected and not clean, the Walls are in desperate need of paint, the wood panelling Needs repair, the floor in the restaurant is dirty with mouse excrements, the halls and gangways need vacuuming, one of the elevators does not run: it is a disaster.

« Great location and hotel »

Great location juat across the central railway station and airport bus. In walking distances to sights, restaurants and shops. Despite being on a busy street, the room is very quiet and calm, so slept very well. Clean and with a friendly staff, what else could we want. After my first stay here, I don’t look any further- I stay here every time I’m in Bologna.
