We stayed at the hotel for 6 nights to visit Lisbon. Overall the hotel is fine and it is in walking distance to the city center (Rossini square) and there are a number is restaurants in the neighborhood. Our room overlooks the Liberdade avenue and it is small to my liking, there is no working table with power supply to use a computer, the bath room is not well designed for practical use, the wardrobe is small is you have to hang your clothes for two. On a positive note the safe is big to keep computers and cameras. Housekeeping service is good. At the breakfast the hot foods are to be served but they are quite slow on some days, there are enough choices of food overall.

On arrival there was a small table and few staff to assist with check in and concierge services. Once we finally checked in we were given a room that was not what we had booked, a superior room with a king bed. On seeing the room and what was obliviously a double bed we went down to reception and requested that we were moved to a room with a king sized bed. The staff relocated us to another room with the same size bed. When we questioned the staff they first told us that Sofitel Lisbon didn’t have a king bed and then actually the bed we saw were king sized beds in Portugal. When we suggested that a king sized bed was the same size globally they dismissed this as nonsense. Given the time of day we reluctantly stayed in a room and a bed much smaller than what we had paid for. The following day the manager returned and relocated us to a room we had paid for but insisted the bed was the same size. Whilst I can appreciate an honest mistake - outright lies do not work for me.

Generally everything was fine, however the rooms had no shelves for clothes. Had to live out of suitcase.

The early departure bag was not your quality. 1 slice cheese between 2 thick slices of bread, over ripe banana. Bottle water and juice,. Small pastry. Expect better next time....
