Positives: integrated garage, very friendly and helpful staff at all times particularly Robert in the bar, but Gym sparsely equipped, bath towels too small. (Kendall Hall has good bath towels)

I only stay in hotels that are close to a railway station. This one hits all the right points. It is comfortable and the breakfast is excellent. It's main point is that it is only 7 minutes walk to/from the railway station !!

The bath mat was stained. A team member took a coffee for self consumption ahead of a guest during breakfast time. The showerhead in 424 sprays water outwardly needs to be correctly fitted. Kitchen staff and the wider breakfast team seemed more interested in making sure an internal auditor who was taking photos of the restaurant at breakfast was cared for more than the guests. I appreciate the product quality is lower than at other Novatel's yet the above can be fixed by a team that care and leadership that cares. I stay in numerous hotels for business and disappointed with this experience.

When we arrived we found that our booking site had not completed our booking so we had no room booked. A very nice male member of staff helped us sort out another room and was so nice and efficient.

The hotel could have provided some bedroom slippers and bathrobes for the comfort of their guest. Furthermore there was no offer of help to carry bags for 2 women to load into the called taxi. Lucky the taxi driver was helpful. Pod serviced in the car area was average with limited choice.

Hotel was very good, some staff was amazing, Gabor the bar man was the best by far, he went above and beyond what we wanted for drinks especially cocktails very creative and made us want to stay longer.

Staff very good, but room 521 has technical problems

I left a written note of the technical problems on the morning of checking out 10th March. 1. the shower pressure was so powerful it filled the shallow shower tray faster than the water drained. So to finish a shower to prevent flooding the bathroom it had to be tuned off and on a number of times. The shower always overflowed. 2. the small sink leaked from the U bend. 3. the toilet flush frequently didnt stop fter refilling the cystern and over ran into the toilet. A stange flushing mechanism. 4. the telephone didnt work and the telephone socket was unscrewed. The staff I can only praise at the hotel. Bar and food staff very good, the fish and chips were authentic. the cleaning staff very helpful with the bag on the handle supplies, as I am a customer that during a long stay do not want the room cleaned every day.

Our bathroom had a foul drain smell from the bath throughout our stay which was dismissed by staff as a problem that is often experienced at the hotel by strong winds. We had to leave the bathroom doors shut to try and block the smell out. Bathroom fittings were old and the layout was poor, the toilet was in a separate room, meaning 2 doors have to be opened between going to the toilet and being able to wash hands.
