Family wedding stay. Central location meant just a 5 minute walk to venue. On site car parking was a definite plus!

« Nice to look at but tired inside »

Great location but what we saw on the outside was not reflected inside. Beds were awful and room was an older one in need of a refurb. Booked a family room for 3 of us but small things like only 2 sets of towels let it down. Use Sheffield City hotels a lot and we only used Novotel to supposedly get the best value from a Hotels.com reward night value that we had accrued. Next time it will be back to our cheaper and more comfortable alternative just up the road I’m afraid.

« Great improvement »

I stayed here a couple of years ago to run a programme and was really impressed with how much the service has improved. The reception and restaurant staff, and Georgio who looked after the conference side, were very friendly and helpful. I asked for a quiet room (I always do, light sleeper) and actually got one - this is rare! Only minor quibble is that you could do with some new pillows and someone could go round with a paint brush and do some minor maintenance. But that's it. Thanks all, good job.

« Mix of good and a bit scruffy »

Very charming staff at reception and in the restaurant. Very good choice of breakfast , overall impression of the communal spaces is very good. The room was a bit on the scruffy side however although the bed was very comfortable. Towels needed replacing ages ago and quite a few of the surfaces In the room were a bit dated and battered. We found a crisp bag on the floor when we arrived. Overall, average experience

It was a quick business trip and hence was looking for a no hassle hotel stay. It was good to have a fulsome dinner and much needed rest after a long drive. Very friendly front desk and breakfast staff. Quite satisfied with the stay.

« Lovely stay with few issues »

I stayed at the Sheffield Novotel for my wedding, and the team were lovely and very helpful - we received treats in the room on check in, and our room was scattered with rose petals on the actual night of our wedding, which was a lovely thing to come back to. The suite itself was fantastic and very well equipped. The window leaked due to Storm Ciara on our penultimate day, but the in-house team were very helpful and quickly moved us to an alternative room. I was also impressed and grateful for the cleaning job done on the room after we'd gotten ready there the morning of the wedding - our own champagne flutes were washed, and the room was immaculate.

airco system didn't work in my original room, staff don't ask if you want to open a tab upon check in so either you have to go back to the desk and specifically open it up or you can't charge anything to the room, the air on the 3rd floor is generally stale, weird smell on the 5th floor.

« Well located in central city »

As again a good located area in the middle of everything, room was clean, room was lovely and staff were friendly. Breakfast was extremely tasty, and supplied a range of breakfast for all.Slight mishaps with food; menu isn’t too diverse As well as having issues with the door to our room as well as the door to get into the hotel after hours, therefore meaning the key card wasn’t the best. As well as this, the swimming pool had a large window infront which was able for the public to see wasn’t too privatised. However, was a lovely stay.

Checked in immediately was told tv was too loud and had a noise complaint. Room was fairly clean however there was hair found in our ordered breakfasts and was locked out the same day our keycard was given but wa lucky enough to have another card to use to get into the building.

« Nice long stay! »

Very well located. Close to the station, bus terminus and the shopping area. Lots of nice restaurants and pubs nearby. Breakfast is good, though the menu is the same everyday. The hotel alao has a gym, pool, restaurant and bar. The staff is friendly. Housekeeping could be better though especially for guests staying for long. There's also a Tesco Express across the street and Sainsbury right next to it.
