« Convenient for overnight stop near Part Dieu Station »

Arriving by train at 7pm, leaving by train 11am next day, so needed somewhere within walking distance (it took us 10 minutes with luggage). Area quiet, room small but comfortable, choice of hotel bistro or plenty of bars nearby for supper (we found a microbrewery for beer and chips), excellent breakfast - and so convenient for quick exploration of Les Halles before we had to leave.

Hotel amenities are not up to date what comes to the climate change. Ibis Lyon Les Halles is not a green hotel. Water consumption, water pressure, water temperature and other means of reducing energy consumption are not in place and are outdated. Strong cigarette smoke entered to room dispite of the request of having a non-smoking room.

We spent two nights on this hotel: it was our third experience there and was as satisfying as before. The staff is always available and helpful, breakfast is made with fresh products and the rooms are extremely clean.

« Met our expectations with a smile. »

We had made our reservation through Booking.com and were greeted with a smile when we arrived. We took our luggage to our room and left to discover the city. When we returned we had drinks at the hotel's bar. The whole experience was lovely. The reason we chose this particular Ibis was its location. It is right across Halles de Lyon Paul Bocuse and very close to the train station. And the city center is within walking distance. Although Halles closed earlier than we imagined and there weren't many places that were open late around even though it was a Saturday night. That's why we preferred the hotel's bar - and were pleased with our choice.

The hotel is very convenient, great geographical position in Lyon, reasonable and clean. The staff were young and dynamic and very kind and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel.

« Poor rooms quality and bad service »

Poor rooms quality - old equipment, unclean, small. Service needs improvement as well - the reception wasn’t really friendly, difficulties with communication in English.

« Reception staff very friendly, I would choose Ibis hotels again. e »

Everything fine, but the bathroom cleaning wasn't good. There was a bad smell coming from the toilet bowl, the toilet seat was sticky as if it hadn't been properly cleaned. The room cleaning maid should not show impatience because I was still in the cabin at 11:30hs, when check out is at 12hs.

We liked our stay, there are many good items - good bed, nice staff. But there is no fridge in the hotel, unfortunately and very little room,but we liked. The location is perfect - near the wonderful market, the train station and not far from the center. I would like to have the coffee machine and a fridge in the room to make it perfect.

« Ok experience, could have been better »

at check-in I was charged EUR 150 whereas the corporate agrred rate was EUR 115.56. I pointed this out at the reception and I was told its a cover on any consumption. Ok, no issues. Later at check out I was told the same but the difference is still not returned on my card. Usually in hotels an authorisation is made and then at check out the actuals are charged, so the card balance is not blocked. But at Lyon Part Dieu Les Halles it felt quite strange.

Since I came to Lyon to the lumiere festival and knew I’d stay up the whole night, I booked and paid in advance for the late check out (to leave by 16:00 if I remember well). When I checked in, the receptionist asked what time I would leave. I said I didn’t know. She told me to give an approximate time. I said maybe 14:00 and that I would see. And asked her if there was any problem if I left later than 14:00, she said no. The next day, they called the room at 13:30 and woke me up, to ask if we would leave by 14:00. My friend told them that we would see. Ten minutes later, the cleaning lady just walked in without knocking. Really rude. And told us that she needed to clean the room. I think we left the room around 14:15. Went to the reception. Explained my problem. The person at the desk was very polite, told me the person who did my check in made a mistake and went 2 times inside to speak to the manager. Who happened to be the same person that did my check-in. I wanted to talk to her, and the other employee told me that she couldn’t see me but would refund the late check out payment. I didn’t want to get more annoyed and left. I always have a good stay at Ibis. And even though I mostly use Airbnb nowadays and also use other hotels when I travel, I tell everyone that I like to stay at Ibis if I have the chance, because I always know what to expect in terms of comfort, cleanness and service. Well, it was the first time I was treated like that. And even though at the end of the day, it’s nothing serious, I just lost maybe one hour of sleep, I’ll make sure I’ll tell everyone about it. Because the manager was just 3 metres away from me, behind the wall, and I could hear her. She couldn’t bother stepping out of the door and apologising. That’s what I expected and wanted. But instead, they wanted to get rid of me by giving me this few euros refund. I hope whoever reads this understands that sometimes it’s more important to face the client and apologise than just disrespect the client by not wanting to see them. I’ve told this to some people and will tell many more. Because I’m like that. I’ll try Ibis again, but less frequently depending on how this e-mail is answered.

Good location, rooms are ok and rather clean. The only downside is the bathroom that is looks too old and it's way too small. Overall, I was satisfied with my stay.

I stayed for two days in your hotel, visiting la biennale and Maison de la Dance. Well situated, quiet and friendly armosphere. For the rest everything ok and a good trip. I stayed in the hotel for the third time and next time again

« Great stay, bitter end »

Hotel was fine, rooms ok clean (exept for the shower that was leaking all over the bathroom and had mold in it), hotelbar OK aswell. Only thing we had a big problem with, was that we had a late evening flight on our way back. We asked someone at the reception upon our arrival if it would be possible to leave our luggage for the last evening in the storage room, which was fine. Upon checking out, we wanted to go to the storage room to leave our luggage there (as mentioned before), but we were told that ''we were no costumers anymore after 8 o'clock'' and ''that we were not allowed on the premises of the hotel after 8 o'clock'', thus not having the right to store our luggage in the storage room, which in my opinion is ridiculous. I've slept in many hotels, but this is the first time this has happened this way. We ended up having to drag our luggage across town (luckily eating in a restaurant where they had space to stow the luggage), but to me this is in no way or shape costumer friendly.
