Loved my stay but it got shut down after one stay and we had to move. But ibis made sure we were relocated and had a place to stay! Thank you!

I really enjoyed the facilities, the staff were friendly, the use of a TV was enjoyable, it was peaceful and the temperature of the room was normal.

Well located hotel, clean comfy room, spotless bathroom, friendly and pleasant receptionists. Except from what it felt as interrogation at check in all was ok.

Felt very unwelcomed to stay at the hotel. Me and my partner are key workers and never felt so unwanted. We travelled from Derby to Birmingham as we were needed for a night shift. Upon arrival, we were bombarded with questions asking for numerous forms of proof and ID that we were key workers and they didn’t accept it for some reason. She instantly cancelled my reservation and justified it by saying I don’t have good enough proof, that they didn’t believe we were here for work and that we are in tier 3 so we cannot accept you. I’ve never had such a horrible experience. We immediately contacted our managers to send us proof as they weren’t accepting the original letter provided. The hotel staff were adamant that it had to be for today’s date and our names had to be bold, it had to highlight our job role and specific reasons. Which was ridiculous as the original letter had all of that but wasn’t given a specific date and was just a key worker letter. We went back to the hotel and told them we now have the specific proof you require and they were just rude. No eye contact, talking down on us and speaking in a blunt tone. It was obvious that they weren’t wanting us there. But they did finally give us a waiver to fill in. Whilst doing this, I observed another couple check in and they were not asked even near half the questions we were asked. She was very polite towards them and welcoming. However when she asked for proof of work, he just verbally told her I work for this place and she gave him the keys!! I was asked for today’s specific date of proof of key worker and so was my partner. We both had to show our ID and also show separate proof that we live together! Why was the other couple not asked for any of this? Was it because they were a white couple and me and my partner are south Asian? Or was it because they were about 28 whilst me and my partner are 20? Either way, me and my partner felt discriminated against. Whether it was age or race, this is discrimination! Even whilst checking out, different staff were rude and had no matters whatsoever. She just shouted whilst we were leaving “WHAT ROOM NUMBER?!” No ‘hello’, no ‘thank you for your stay’, no nothing... I’ve only provided the rating of 4 due to the room being well cleaned, TV and heating.

Over-all was good Just the card-reader system is older, and the swipe card would malfunction easily because of mobile phone.
