I stayed for two nights. The staff were helpful in explaining the changes made due to COVID and how this affected me, e.g., how and where to collect my breakfast, offering cutlery for my food delivery. Staff were on hand to respond to other queries through their WhatsApp contact number.

Overall well and friendly stay, my only disappointment was after reading the Covid advice that cleaning of the room would not happen (which I approve of) there was evidence that my room was entered every day! Not good.

We arrived with no notice as we had been disappointed by an extremely poor room booking service failing to secure us accommodation. I had a hospital appt to attend and the staff were very concerned with my situation and immediately organised our stay - we produced all of the relevant ID required due to lockdown restrictions and were parked up and in our room within minutes. Staff were very friendly, always available, attentive and quick to provide support. We felt safe in light of the current pandemic as there were regular hand sanitiser points,a one way system, distancing demarcation and staff were wearing masks at all times. The room was sparking clean and a good size and had all the comforts required including a 40inch+ television, tea and coffee making facilities, extra pillows and all toiletries provided. There was a ‘whats app’ contact number for liaising with the reception which allowed for remote communication with the staff who were always quick to respond to messages and requests. a choice of cooked food was available which was a surprise as we expected current restrictions to have affected this , it was quick, generously portioned, delicious and delivered to our room. We will be returning to this hotel for future hospital commitments. We plan to bring our children to visit to see the sights of Portsmouth, once things have reopened and safe, as the location was central it was easy to reach the sea front and there were countless cafès, bars, fast food places and restaurants within easy reach. I cannot highly recommend this hotel enough it was exceptional on service, facilities, location, cleanliness and comfort.

Was staying at the hotel for work. Despite covid restrictions the staff were very happy and efficient. My only criticism is the rooms are a little small, maybe too much furniture in them....

Stayed one night for work commitment, check-in was no issue. The receptionist was very friendly and explained everything well regarding the current COVID measures. The rooms are small, especially the en-suite, but was found clean. Rooms are well equipped with a small desk and smart TV. The mattress and pillows needs an upgrade as sleep was not as good as it could be.

The hotel was trying with severely restricted staff numbers and strong Covid regulations to give us a comfortable stay. They succeeded but of course could not give the usual ibis experience.

Convenient hotel

An enjoyable weeks stay in this hotel apart from our last night/morning when we were disturbed be a dog barking constantly in a nearby room and by what sounded like another guest encouraging their dog to run up and down the hallway outside our room complete with the owner whistling and shouting the dog all at 6am in the morning!!

As usual at this hotel, staff are excellent - friendly and efficient - especially Adam who is a star. Some of the other aspects are letting the hotel down - especially housekeeping. Sheet on the bed was tucked in a long way at one side and didn't reach the edge at the other - this is just sloppy when IBIS's main advert talks about sweet beds or similar. Thre was a black bag of rubbish left in the corridor during the whole stay. We've stayed in many hotels recently and there are better ways (experienced at least three) to give the customer more choice and with safe service at breakfast than a few items in a bag....time to stop hiding behind covid and get pro-active!
