The location of the hotel is in a fantastic location being walking distance to Sarinah as well as Restoran Garuda, Papaya supermarket and fast food places. The staff were always very helpful and friendly. We had booked 3 rooms which were on the second floor and all in need of upgrades. Room service is not available. We booked another room two days later and were given one of the renovated rooms on a higher floor which was much better than the older rooms with better aircon, bedding and a new bathroom. We would happily stay in this hotel again because of the reasonable price and the top location, however, would definitely ask for one of the renovated rooms.

I choose to stay in this hotel on my recent business trip to Jakarta because of it's strategic location, and the fact that any hotels run by Ibis or Accor group are normally known for it's solid service. That's what I expected prior to my arrival in here. But upon my arrival, I realize that I should have lowered my expectations. The hotel's lobby and guest area looks dated. It was probably luxurious in 1990s, but by now it looks like it needs some kind of renovation. The receptionist receiving me within proper service standard, although his sour face put me in a rather bad mood. I'm a bit surprised that my room is located in the remote corner of the building, which felt a bit awkward, and it overlooks another building. But the biggest disappointment has to be its air conditioning, which was damaged. When I entered my room, it was hot and stuffy! It took long for the air conditioning to cool the room down. And the vane seems to be stuck in almost closed conditions. Thankfully, the mechanics saves the day and properly fixing it although the hotel management obviously must replace it with newer ones. I have no complaint about my sleep quality or hot water shower. It's all good. The breakfast is a bit of let down because of the lack of western menu. In my previous stay (well in 2007 anyway) the menu was much more varied. And for the final straw, I think I lost my hat in this hotel too! Overall, I give score 6,5 out of 10 for my stay in this hotel.
