The hotel was under construction and we were not notified in advance. There was a strong smell of paint / building materials and most of the hotel was unusable.

Some renovations are currently underway in Novotel Paris Gare de Lyon ; a new design and a new atmosphere will be available soon. The information is given on the AccorHotels website and in your booking confirmation. The catering services are temporarily moved on the first floor and the reception is as well momentarily out of place. My teams and I do our utmost to anticipate and/or attenuate the nuisances which are unfortunately not always announced/detailed beforehand by the companies working on the site. I am aware of the inconvenience and we all redouble our vigilance and continue to do our utmost to ensure the best possible welcome. The entire site will be completed in March and I sincerely hope that you will give us the opportunity to serve you better during a future visit. The ground floor is a mess. Temporary reception area. Building in progress on ground floor looks unwelcoming and makes guests feel like they are staying in a building site. Breakfast was in a makeshift canteen. Accor should make clear that the hotel is undergoing refurbishment when guests book. Either the hotel should be shut while the work is going on or you should discount the room rate. You shouldn't charge full price for this. You are devaluing the Novotel brand.

Rooms comfortable enough. But a couple of things to improve - non-slip mats in the bath and a grab rail. The big problem was the ongoing internal refurbishment works. I was warned on the web site when I booked but still. And one of the three lifts did not reach the ground floor. If that one arrived you were advised to take another but you cannot choose a lift!! It should have been deactivated for the duration.

Great and quiet room. very large and with modern bathroom. 7th floor, facing the square behind the hotel free minibar and coffee machine in the room Good breakfast even if the room is a bit packed... but this is probably temporary during renovations. smooth check in chech out... Upgraded as diamond... although no communication or mention of it at check in ... but what counts is to be upgraded... :-)

The lobby and main areas of the hotel were all under construction. The lifts did not all connect to the ground floor. There was no warning of this at the time of booking, which was not far in advance.

« Convenient, quality and quiet stay. »

The Novotel Garde de Lyon is so convenient on arrival from southern France - a five minute walk largely under cover. It is being refurbished but nevertheless provided a good restful overnight transit stop with an enjoyable evening dinner and breakfast in the hotel’s restaurant. I can well recommend it.

Location was extremely good, there was a direct train back from almost everywhere. Service was good too and staff made a point to deliver food early to my room on a weekend as I had to leave early. Only issue was the ongoing renovation.

Staff were brilliant, We had a lovely stay here, However it would have been nice to have been told about the renovation's and maybe a discount as the Pool was not available either. Being an Accor member I would have hoped for a little better service.

I'm happy with the location and access. Hotel was in transformation, hard to find a seat for breakfast. Parking was a disaster as I damaged a rim. Access is clearly too narrow. On a Porsche Panamera, that means important expenses! That information should be sent to customers.
