When we checked out we had to wait about 5 min. When I queried this the person said "he is alone, and was on the phone and could I not see it" which I thought was not really a good answer to a customer. The room as not as clean as it should be, and there was dust a dead bugs in the window area. Also the tap are fitted upside down, so you cannot see which is the hot or cold taps, which is rather annoying. Would I stay here again? I am not really sure.

Took a long weekend getaway with my husband. Booking was easy and efficient and we were upgraded to a junior suite with harbour view being an Accor member. Check in was swift and welcoming. The suite has a separate bedroom and lounge area with both having wall-mounted flat-screen TVs - no Foxtel or Netflix but does have Stan. The suite was comfortable and adequately equipped including fluffy white towels. I especially appreciated the double power points each side of the bed and the window nook to sit in and watch the ships go by and take in the fabulous Esplanade/water views. The restaurant and bar were not open much due to COVID restrictions but I did have breakfast on the last morning which was excellent - a tasty and generous big breakfast at a very good price. All the staff were lovely and helpful to a greater or lesser degree which is being picky but some did go over and above to make our stay as special as it could be in restricted times. There is an onsite carpark and also a pool/spa. The hotel is a little tired in some areas but for the budget price, cannot be complained about. Location in the cbd is excellent without city noise.

Disappointed, hotel was tired, in dire need of maintenance/refurbishment. Room fridge did not cool, ceiling paint in bathroom was peeling off, carpet was stained. I knew it 30 years ago as the "Atrium" just prior to it closing for refurbishment and re-branding. Definitely overdue for another major refurbishment

Carpet had stains on it, there was a mildew smell throuout the rooms. Peeling paint in the bathroom, stayed 8 nights and the sheets weren't replaced once! Bathroom not very well cleaned each day and floors not even swept. Very disappointing considering it is called a novatel hotel.

Reception was a bit slow, as no one was at the counter. After arriving, check-in was then done quickly & arriving at our room was great as it was a 35 deg. humid day & the room was nice & cool with the a/c. on. My only concern was a pre-authorised credit card amount for $50 for room orders/damage. On our stay we used a bottle of water ( $4.50 ), & at book-out I wanted to pay that in cash & get the $50 pre-authorised amount as a credit with the copy given to me, but this new staff member ( not at the book-in ) said no, we will do it by email & may take a few working days to go through. So far I have not heard/seen anything & don't get a Cr. Card statement for a month. I hope you may be able to check on this for me.

I like the peacefulness and quietness of the Novotel, not all that happy with having to pay for insecure parking at ten bucks a day. If it was secure and monitored then maybe a charge would be justified. At the minute, anyone can park at the rear of the hotel without any obvious impediment. If that is full, you park next door, a $100 deposit is collected for the security fob to operate the boom gate. Again, this is not a secure car park. The locals wander the streets day and night, not a safe place to leave your car in a insecure building. I am very happy that the Novetel is now offering a streaming service for TV viewing. The Hotel is badly in need of a major renovation to give it a competitive edge in the marketplace. It is looking tired and worn out. Which one feels in the Wet season.

old hotel , all facilities are super old. Passenger lift was over 20 years. carpet was old , dirty Hotel receptionist Day time : the manager -I forget his name : he is Indian I think . The services is bad . no knowledge for introducing Darwin , even tour information . very lazy , even asking late check out , very unwilling to do and saying the hotel is full etc. In fact, the hotel is empty . Completely not full . Unlucky, I asked another Manager : She is very knowledgeable, recommend me to go to the where for dinner etc . specially, the hotel sat and sun rest have been closed . She also allows me to do late check out . Excellent services. Breakfast is not tasty but acceptable . NOT amazing : Only 5 out of 10 Hotel : 6 out of 10 . Room is ok , but shower area is very old . need do more renovation Location is excellent

As usual the staff, rooms and general service was very good and is the reason I keep coming back. I would have rated my experience higher however, I noticed that there are some cutbacks which detract a little. 1. Both bar and restaurant menus have been reduced; 2. The amenities in the room have been reduced as well. Fridge only contained one bottle of water. 3. No room service.

very friendly staff and quit hotel in wet season, good breakfast and donner - but restaurant closed weekends in west season. I like the hotels casual and laid back style. Lovely rooms, mine with a sea view. Overall very good, but I have to say the lay out is looking a bit dated - I have been staying there on and off since 2000.

I know Darwin hotels limit their service during the wet season, but the limits can go too far. The first room we were put in smelled of wet, moldy carpet. I should have requested a shift, but didn't want to make a fuss. But after the A/C shut off at 6 am and couldn't be revived I contacted the front desk. The staff were great and did all they could to help. We were moved to another room which was great, but why put people in the moldy room with the dodgy A/C in the first place. Also, due to limits on the bar opening times we couldn't use our welcome drink voucher - even though I tried on a Saturday night.
