As always a very friendly yet efficient reception on arrival. The bedroom was clean and warm with a welcome bottle of water. The dinner was well cooked and tasty. After a good night's sleep, a good breakfast was available prior to catching the ferry.

Conveniently situated for the ferry and a short walk to the centre of ouistreham. Helpful staff, typical IBIS accommodation. Only gripe would be lack of iPad/iPhone charging points in the room. Other IBIS hotels provide cubes for charging points so disappointing. However, reception loaned us charging plugs. Useful in-house restaurant & bar. Breakfast included in price. Recommended.

The room was small, but comfortable. Breakfast was excellent, copious and good quality. Dinner was a little disappointing as the veal was rather tough. Overall though, I would recommend this stay.

Nice hotel, but arrived late and the baby cot wasn't ready

Our ferry was delayed, so we arrived late. We had requested a toddler cot when we reserved and again when we called the hotel to inform them of the delay. When we arrived there was no cot in the room and when we asked for one, it took a while to find it. By then we'd improvised and the baby was asleep. It was too late. That was disappointing but other than that the hotel was very nice, breakfast was good. Strangely only one electrical socket in the entire room though - not even a shaver plug in the bathroom.

Well Located but poor experience for a family

We booked a room at the hotel, as it is perfectly located for the Brittany Ferry terminal and we had an 0830 ferry to catch, however when we arrived at about 6pm we found out the hotel offered no restaurant or food at all at the weekend, so with two small children we were forced to go else where. There was nothing close by and every restaurant was booked. My frustration with this is that the “no restaurant at the weekend” thing was not communicated at the time of booking, and with a young family, this was not a good experience after nearly 7 hours in the car!

We always stay at this hotel as we enter and leave France. Standards are unfailingly high but this time the Direction surpassed itself. We stayed overnight with a view to boarding early ferry but it was cancelled at short notice. We were made more than welcome to continue to use the lounge and bar along with our dog and had an excellent evening meal before ferry departure. Chapeau à toute l’équipe. We will certainly be back.

The room is unsatisfactory, but I recognise there is nothing you can do about it. Specifically (room 613), (1) the ridiculous (and expensive?) porthole between the shower room and the bedroom serves only to wake up the sleeper when his/her partner goes to the loo in the night. (2) there is nowhere to put away your clothes overnight. Compare the excellent system of open shelves in other Ibis hotels (Falaise, Chateauroux). (3) there is no bed-TOP light on the window side; only an immovable shaded lamp on the bedside table, cluttering it up. Get rid of that lamp, and instal a LEF above, as on the other side. (4) there is no working space for those with laptops. Again compare the other Ibis hotels. (5) the wheely table over the bed is useless and makes getting ouot of bed hard. (6) the pouf is useless. (7) there is only one chair aothough the room is for two. And the chair there is is useless for those who wish to sit straight up againsgt a working surface (see 4 above). (8) the high shelf with knick-knacks above the bed is useless and a waste of Ibis money. (8) the squeezy soap in the shower room is ast the opposite end from the shower, making it very inconvenient to use. (9) the power points are inadquate iin number and most are very badly positioned (eg one over the WC). (10) if you drop something then (eg the room key) on the non-window side of the bed it disappears and cannot be got out again. (11) there is inadequate hanging space, mostly because of the silly recess in the wardrobe to give a bedside space on one side of the bed. (12) I find the pretence that we are on a ship, eg giving names "cabine 613" instead of sipy "613") and "pont" instead of "niveau" annoying rather than charming. I suspect Ibis paid a design consultant big money for all these useless and pretentious "design" features, instead of (like other Ibis hotels) thinking what your clients (mostly businessmen?) actually need. On another note the bed, like all Ibis beds, was good. The breakfast was outstandingly good; the only thing I missed was the opportunity to boil an egg (which exists in the above-listed Ibis-es) I find there is not enough room below to explain my dissatisfaction with the Accor loyalty program, so I do so here. On trhe previous night we were booked at Ibis Chateauroux. We could not book on the Accor site, because it tod us that the hotel was closed. So we booked on Booking.com, but that means that we did not gain the points for that stay. I would be glad to have this rectified (Michael S., A card number 30…84135)
