The Aircon did not work in the 3 rooms we booked. I was also told that I could use my Accor points to get free parking and than was charged on my credit card for the parking with an email telling me that I couldn't. I was also told one day that I could use my Accor card to get a discount for breakfast than the next day I got refused. We usually stay here once a year as a family girls weekend, however this year we were extremely disapppointed. However the service of your Night Manager K was outstanding, she was very friendly and welcoming and definately deserves recognition....

A place to call home!

Arrived in the evening with all new staff at reception. Had a few issues at check in due to staff still being trained (Accor recognition, Requesting Daily housekeeping, Room keys not working, late checkout requests, etc) but it was all resolved once the duty manager stepped in. It was a wonderful surprise as I went up to my floor and I soon realised I was upgraded to a nice lovely 1 bedroom suite. The AC was nice and quiet and everything in the room made up nicely. The welcome amenity on the table along with a hand-written note welcoming me back to the hotel was a wonderful and warm gesture that adds a personal touch. The next two days I had breakfast in Platform 818. I was greeted by Michelle and Binita who are bright, cheerful and always friendly. Although it was quite busy each day, Michelle and Binita made the time to greet me and made sure I felt at home by offering me their assistance if I needed anything. While I didn't require anything other than my usual morning coffee and omlette for breakfast, it definitely does make a great start to one's day. Housekeeping proved to be faultless. I had several issues with the daily housekeeping option on my previous stays, but everything went smoothly during this stay. Checkout was fast and friendly. It was my first time meeting Adriana, but we had a friendly chat during the checkout process. Overall it was a wonderful stay and the Mercure Sydney Central feels like a home away from home.

Convienient location, Nice room, Need to work on the comunication

I was very happy with the location as I know it well from previous stays. The rooms are a good size for a couple and well enough appointed for this level of hotel. However, there were 3 disappointing things during my stay. 1. No communication from the hotel regarding housekeeping services. I even put a "please make up my room" hanger on the door handle and still had to call down to housekeeping to have fresh towels supplied. 2. The room was very noisy through the night. I don't know if there is a laundry or pool pumps above room 1418, but it was very loud and annoying to hear machinery cycling in the middle of the night for the whole night. 3. Eves bar was a big disappointment. The bar was dirty, the staff were very inattentive and overall at the level of a dirty suburban pub. Certainly not somewhere to come back to your hotel and relax with a drink at the end of the day.

Good stay with a minor unsatisfactory

Well located hotel with good customer service. However, a $30 parking ticket seems a bit unnecessary for a short day-stay cuz I'll vacate the room anyway on that day.

Dear Jack, We very much appreciate your comments regarding your stay at the Mercure Sydney and I was please the hotel was able to accommodate you for a day use room. We do have have onsite parking that is available and at a discounted price for guests. We charge in hourly blocks to ensure guests only pay for the time they use the carpark. Then after a certain number of hours, we charged a flat overnight fee. Thank you again for sharing your experience.
