Very good hotel, good location near from the centre of Curitiba. The personal from the hotel is very polite and always helpful. I am always feeling like expected when i arrive at this hotel. The restaurant is also very nice and the staff very polite.

Nice hotel, apartment was pretty good and looked new and location was perfect. Hotel staff was always nice and kind. Only downside was the towels were too old and soft touch was long gone.

« My credit card was skimmed at the front desk on December 14 when I checked out. I am disgusted. »

On Saturday morning December 14 I was told on check out that my card was overcharged and that I needed to give the desk clerk my Credite card for a partial refund. I handed over my card, completed chackout and went on my way. This was the only transaction I had made with my credit card for many days. It is now obvious that a hotel employee skimmed my card details and sold that number onto the black market. By the time I got to the Sao Paulo later that afternoon, the fraudulent charges had started on my card,.... Just a couple of hours after I had used it to checkout of your hotel. Almost 50 transactions were attempted before my card provider (Mastercard) shut my card down and locked my account. Not only that, but I DID NOT receive the refund in over charges that I was supposed to receive. And now,.... Instead of being on holiday in Mexico, I have had to buy urgent flights to my home in Canada to get a new card in person from my bank. This has cost me nearly $3,000 CAD in airfares alone, plus 6 days of my vacation. My card can no longer be refunded because it has been cancelled so I want to know how you are going to make thing right. My suggestion is that this is actioned as soon as possible before I take the matter to a higher level. This is an utterly disgraceful way to treat your long term guests. You have all my contact details on file through my membership. I expect to be contacted with a solution within a week.

However for Security reason we do not ask or hold your card security code in the refund process. We do have a very strict policy on this kind of procedure. Could you please send us the invoices so our finance department can try to investigate what it may possible happen? Meantime, we asked to our department re-applied for your refund. Unfortunately the hotel was a disappointment at this time at no fault of the staff. The constant remodeling, including the lobby area was poorly planned and at times dangerous for the customers. There was an occasion where one my relatives was almost hit by debris falling out of the roof. The area was noisy and dusty. Secondly, there was a large group of youth participating in sports. No problem with that, however, there was little room in the elevators, which are already small. Moreover, there was only 2 functioning elevators. The service elevator was being repaired for the entire week we stayed at the hotel and by the time we left, it was not yet fixed.

« Calm and easy »

All staff was absolutely efficient and polite They all have great training, it comes out naturally. It was extremely pleasant to have them around. 0% of staff was rude or not willing to help. Constructive: elevator of 9th floor was not working properly. Two elevators are too few for whole building. They take long to arrive.

« Comfortable room in good location »

The hotel was very clean and most of the staff were friendly and helpful. The elevator service was severely inadequate, sometimes taking 10 minutes just to get up to or down from the 15th floor. Dinner at the restaurant suffered from poor service, but breakfast and lunch were well done. Taxi service was very prompt and professional from the hotel. Living space in the rooms was a bit cramped for a couple with one suitcase each - no furniture or suitcase racks to make access to clothing and accessories less of a burden.

« Hotel is good but has key problems »

The hotel is good, good location, good rooms , has a fantastic restaurant. But it has 2 main problems that are important to consider in my next hotel selection decision. Problem 1 - noise. The windows and balcony doors don't close well and let noise get in . Since the place is surrounded by big avenues, the noise is too much for a good sleep. Problem - 2 terrible WiFi. when you get connected it works well , but I could not manage to connect my laptop, and my iPad got disconnected many times, ( including during a conference call) . Since good wifi is a basic premise for business travels , in spite of it is good hotel, I will avoid it next time Im in Curitiba.

« Comfortable »

The Mercure Curitiba Batel is well located on the edge of central Curitiba - about a 20 minute walk. There are a number of restaurants, cafes and bars close by - the amazing seafood restaurant Coco Bambu, Hard Rock Cafe, Manu and others. The rooms are comfortable, although some thicker pillows would be nice. Staff were friendly and English wasn't a problem. The breakfast buffet was varied with something for everyone.

« Decent hotel and good room, but terrible WiFi in room »

The hotel looks decent, and my room was very good. Breakfast was also very nice, plenty of selections. The problem is that during my stay only one guest elevator was working. During the rush hours, the elevator was always full. I had to wait at least five minutes to get in. We could take the service elevator but only with staffs’ help. The WiFi in my room was also slow and unstable. The worst is that the floor of my bath room constantly had water coming out from the tiles.

From check in to check out, all employees are very nice trying always to be efficient and helpful. Breakfast is very good and bedrooms are extremely comfortable and clean. Only thing I did not like so much is the parking that is from 3rd party administration adding a significant extra cost to the staying.
