« Good rainy trip »

Very good hotel. Just a remark on breakfast scrambled eggs done with poudre who have terrible looking and should be served with big plastic spoon => I recommend natural eggs preparation and usage of another recipient

The Hotel was excellent, a little out of Vannes. The restaurant was closed on sunday which was a disappointment. We were recommended to walk a short distance to a restaurant where we had what we thought was a good meal.

« Express stay in average hotel »

I always book hotels through Accor when needed, and I must say that I have been disappointed as of late with the state of the Mercure hotels in general. This hotel felt very old and cheap considering it was meant to be a 4 star hotel Check out was supposedly at 12 noon but we were asked to leave the room at 11:45 am by the cleaning crew who said the next guests were already here waiting. This topped with the noise coming from the nightclub by the hotel was a pain.

« A perfect experience in Vannes »

We had a perfect 2 nights stay in this hotel. We were warmly welcomed and guided accordingly about the possibilities, comfortable parking, map, to be seen in the town, etc. The hotel is in a 20-25 minutes nice walk from the old town along the harbour. However, you may find non time restricted parking place, along the way or in Rue Jean Marie Allanic if you are lucky. The twin room was large enough to lay down a yoga mat. The beds and beddings were comfortable for us. We definitely like the beds and beddings in Accor hotels. (why there is no possibility to buy it in the hotel like in Quebec? There is no Dodo couettes/quilts in this size in their shop 160x220) The room was quiet and clean, with water cattle with coffee and tea, small fridge with a bottle of water. The bathroom, shower were also convenient. I checked the “fitness room” and even if it is rather simple you may exercise with the equipment if you wish. I didn’t find it problematic. The breakfast was pretty good, abundant, but of course in busy hours you may have to wait for table or at the coffee machine. BUT, and this is also for other hotels we visited in Bretagne, WHY there are no vegetables for breakfast? Where is the famous French agriculture, where are the fresh green products from the young farmers? At least tomato, paprika or cucumber? Pleas note that in Germany even in Ibis budget we may get vegetables! But don't panic, you won’t be hungry, since there is a really good selection for breakfast. It is just a proposal to be more green, more healthy. There is a restaurant next to the hotel, and as we saw the price level is about the same as in the town. There is a boat office really close to the hotel, you may book a visit to the islands. We tried the small beach at Conleau, which is about 2 km from the hotel through a nice walking path. Shower and toilet are available, and security people are there afternoons. In brief, we were satisfied and the hotel is good for coming back for a longer stay, too. Just reflecting to some opinions, we had no problem with the noice from the Casino. When we closed the window, it was ok for us, even if we are sensitive in this regards.

« A very nice hotel. »

We have stayed here before and like the rooms and find the staff helpful. However, on this occasion we had no air-conditioning in our room, and we were there when it was very hot. We reported this to reception, and although there was no solution to the problem, we were given a discount on our bill when we checked out, to reflect this problem.

« Your fitness centre is absolute rubbish »

Have a look at the equipment the Cherbourg Mercure have in their fitness room and then look at the sorry excuse that is the fitness centre in Vannes. I booked this hotel BECAUSE it had a "fitness centre" but all it has was a few tired aerobic machines, not a single dumbbell never mind a multigym! Pathetic.

Located a mile outside of the old city of Vannes and directly in front of the Gare de Mer the hotel is modern and stylish in its appearance and location with generous car parking. Now, when we arrived we struggled to find any staff or in fact a welcome. After 2 days stay we still felt it cold and uninviting with no one in the bar or activities in and around the public areas.(very different from the previous Ibis which was buzzing!). Also to note the Casino is across the road and runs until the early hours, so no sleeping with the window open !! Breakfast was good and room was OK.

« Very basic 4* hotel »

Stayed for a night. We arrived slightly before lunch and our rooms were not ready so we left our baggage in the hotel baggage deposit room. For a 4* hotel, what they were provided were very basic, like one bottle of soap for shower and shampoo, no conditioner, paper cups, no toothbrush and toothpaste. Would say no toiletries except for that bottle for shower and shampoo. Bed is good but pillows were very soft. Location is less than 5mins walk to ferry terminal, and less than 10mins drive to the old town.

« Hotel desperately need a top to bottom renovation »

Very poor. No USB outlets in room. No sockets on each side of bed. Carpet looks like it has NEVER been wet cleaned and is very old. Public areas old and tired.

No service for a cup of coffee until the lady at reception intervened. Gin and tonic served in a small glass without room for tonic and no lemon, we persisted and reluctantly she got it from the resturant. We ordered Heineken beer but not sure want was served, when ask the lady just shrugged her shoulder. Scambbled eggs was cold from the kitchen. Salt and pepper was hard to come by. No service for food on Sunday but we are not made award. Fortunately there was alternative near by. The interior is tired, peeling paint at the bottom of the door. Hair dryer was good. Shower works. We will avoid this hotel.

« Very disappointing stay. »

We felt the hotel rooms were tired, the rear of the hotel needs freshening up. Late at night loud bass music from cars across the road could be heard in the room. Noise from revellers leaving the Casino at 2 in the morning. Having stayed at the Mercury in Dinan which was excellent we feel Vannes fell well below that standard.
