« Very disappointing »

This is the worst Accor hotel we have ever stayed in and we are Accor members. With the exception of the morning receptionist and the cleaners service was poor. The hotel smelt odd, the rooms and common parts in need of decoration although clean. The dining room in particular needs upgrading and breakfast was not a great experience with cold coffee from the machine and food stocks low. We arrived down just after 9 and breakfast didn’t finish until 10.00am but we had to ask for scrambled egg and water for boiled eggs. There was only one man on service in the restaurant and he wasn’t there when we arrived. It feels like a business being run on a shoe string. Annoyingly it was the most expensive hotel of our trip down through France. Thank goodness all the others were Novotel’s and thoroughly reliable.

« Great service and a great location »

A short break to meet friends and explore Montauban. The hotel is in a great location and the rooms are clean and very comfortable. The staff are amazing and a great help when our car was towed away on market day sorting out what we had to do to recover the car, organising taxis etc.

I have incorrectly sent my review as applying to the IBIS AIX en PROVENCE and apologise. Please ensure this is corrected as we were very satisfied there. As for the Mercure Montauban we were very disappointed. We were not warned of difficult access due to major and long term road works, lack of parking ,no Restaurant or Bar facilities, and the distance to parking - we are 76 and 77 years old!! It was problematic for us and in the past we have been warned by ACCOR hotels of similar problems. On this occasion as loyal ACCOR clients 30…5549 we would appreciate some feedback both on Montauban and also our mistake in addressing these comments to IBIS Aix en Provence in error which was excellent - or is the computer totally in control??

« Cycle tour to eye exam in Montauban. »

The Hotel Mercure Montauban is a wonderful location to visit the center of the city. It is close to the train station and a short walk to many restaurants. I had an early morning appointment at an eye clinic and it was an easy walk from the hotel.

« Not the standard I expected »

I felt the hotel was tired. My room was along dark corridors where some of the lights did not work. The carpet had some very unpleasant stains. The flooring in my room was damaged and there was a substantial indentation in the actual floor. Parking was a reel issue and VERY expensive - the hotel needs a better system to in place to allow parking. The vouchers provided did not cover the parking and for 4 days paid over 50euros.

« Restaurant closed but Web-site said it was open! »

We arrived to a friendly welcome albeit the reception was in some disarray. We checked-in but had to wait while the room was prepared. The room was fine when we got into it. At 5:30 we enquired when the restaurant would be open for Dinner and were told that it was closed tonight (Friday)! The Web-site clearly showed that the restaurant was open Monday - Friday, Lunch and Evening. We had only booked this hotel 3 days before arrival so the web-site should have been up-to-date! We purposely booked this hotel BECAUSE the restaurant was available. Also, the hotel could have emailed us the change of status but they didn't. Also, we could have been informed when we checked-in but they didn't. My wife has mobility issues so having to go elsewhere to find the evening meal was not appreciated. One other comment, despite showing my Silver Status card, I had to specifically ask for the complimentary drinks document. Since the restaurant was not open, I did not have the opportunity to use it! We generally like Mercure hotels but our experience of this one was not good.

Welcoming staff and ready to help. However, no presence at breakfast, only at the reception. Also, it seems impossible to use rewards points unless you have initially specified how many you wanted to use (a shame when you are denied using additional ones, which would have been handy in my situation)

« Fantastic once we found it, in plain site all the time, just kept missing it - Poor wifi in our corner room floor 1 »

Took us ages to locate the hotel but we driving past and just missing the entrance. Parking available across the road, hotel will give you a pass out for next morning (8e from memory). Out ticket didn't work but the assistant (pressed button) opened gate to release us once they could understand we were hotel guests. Well located and in easy walking distance to the main square and restaurant options. Smooth checkin and checkout, comfortable room. Non existent wifi signal in our room had to keep going to reception to access wifi. Needs a booster to service this room. When travelling on business need to have good wifi. Ask when checking in if room has good signal, check on arrival and request another room if not okay. They advertise in room wifi. Not a deal breaker for me this time as really needed the rest and not as much work to do during night. Breakfast was excellent and worth having, a leisurely breakfast set us up for a nice day of driving ahead. Overall good stay and would recommend to anyone wanting to explore Montauban
