Smocking - “non-smoking”

Customer review rating 2.0/5

Anonymous Families - 23/07/2020 Confirmed reviews ALL

The hotel smells like ashtray despite the fact it’s non-smoking. The personal and some guests smoke directly near entrance. So, if you have a room above or near the entrance - it’s full of smoke.

War gut.

As expected, all well. The hotel is only showing signs of need of renovation.

Cheap, Convenient, Basic but Language Barrier

Customer review rating 3.5/5

James Business - 30/09/2019 Confirmed reviews ALL

Overall the hotel was good all things considered. The rooms were basic (i.e. a bunk bed, small desk, sink, toilet and shower. However, the price was unbeatable at 30 Euros. Whilst it is outside Dresden proper, there is an hourly bus that will get you into city centre which I used for the 8 days I stayed there (gets you to the main train station in about 40 minutes). Quite convenient! However, the hotel was not without its problems. Staff seemed to only know German which caused a language barrier to occur. While I was able to check in, I had an issue staying for subsequent days which was fixed by a quick email to the hotel (using Google translate to translate my question into German). All in all not a bad experience, especially when hotels are pricey in the City Centre.

Like any other ibis budget, this is a place to spend the night and nothing more. Rooms were clean, there was very little noise and the breakfast was satiating.

No WiFi available, smell of old cigarettes in the room.

Marcin Couples - 06/08/2019 Confirmed reviews ALL

Staff was friendly but they hardly speak English so it was bit tough to communicate. WiFi was "kaputt" so we couldn't use it at all. Room was clean but the smell of old cigarettes was awfull, luckily we could open the window.

Standard IBIS Budget hotel but not clean

Hotel room floor was not clean - there was a bundle of hair on the ground and chips under radiator. Otherwise as expected. Breakfast was good.

Not so cheap in price, basic quality

The price has doubled since I stayed here a few years ago, but quality did not! Noisy rooms. Doors, showers, toilets, sinks, no elevator, no wifi in the mornings.... I will not return.

Convenient, good location and value, but not for the disabled

724verac Family - 09/06/2019 TripAdvisor review

The rooms were good and clean, reception friendly and helpful, but I had booked 2 rooms, one for myself and my husband and one for my elderly mother. The hotel has a disabled parking bay, so presumably you cater for disabled guests, yet the shower has no grip bar nor non-slip mat, so my mother was unable to have a shower. We stayed in 4 different IBIS Budget hotels during our one week trip abroad and it was the same in each hotel. Your website should state clearly that you do not cater for disabled guests so that others do not suffer the same problem.

Basic, cheap, OK for a night or two, not more.

Flyer602947 Couples - 14/12/2018 TripAdvisor review

Toilet without toilet seat and lid, washbasin in the room, not in the bathroom. Bathroom door with noisy spring lock. Third bed is mounted on top of double bed below; Mind your head! Door opens with 6 digit key code. Breakfast is basic. Located in an industrial area far away from Dresden. You need a car. Reception desk staffed only during limited business hours. This hotel was our option because other, better hotels, closer to Dresden downtown were fully booked or quoted extra high prices in the pre-Christmas season. Basic, cheap, OK for a night or two, not more.

Good bed, cosy, super breakfast, fast WiFi, big parking. 15 of 10 possible points, a real hotspot. Can recommend it with regard to price level, staff, room, public transport connections, travelling by own car super location near motorway. Top.

Terrible

rhas2018 Family - 16/05/2018 TripAdvisor review

I booked two nights at the IBIS BUDGET DRESDEN KESSELSDORF hotel, relying on the IBIS Network standard. I checked in on 11/05, with payment in advance. Upon arriving in the room, I could observe that the standard was not the same as other hotels in the Net. There was no elevator, the bathroom was very tight (resembling an airplane toilet), the toilet model had no lid, the shower cubicle had no curtain and the sink was outside the bathroom on the other side of the room. There were not enough towels and pillows for the 3 people. We left the suitcases, without touching anything, and went to find a place to feed ourselves. Along the way I decided, with my wife, that this was not a room within the standards we are accustomed to. In less than 20 minutes we returned and requested a cancellation of the stay. The front desk clerk, who at no time had shown warmth or sympathy and practically refused to speak English, showed a ostentatious annoyance with my request and said that I would be charged a daily rate with breakfast (which is optional) included. Although I paid in cash, I said that the second daily amount would be credited to my credit card. I believed in the reputation in the IBIS network, as I usually do in my travels, and ended up having a huge setback and a loss of 66 euros, according to the A-162417 invoice.

almost good

Weesky Solo travel - 12/09/2017 TripAdvisor review

the hotel is located on outskirts of Dresden, loads of parking space around. Basic but clean. The annoying bit was the attitude of night receptionist who not only spoke no English but also tried physical contact (keeping his hand on my shoulder) and insisted on closely watching the PIN pad when I was entering my credit card credentials. I felt his rotten breath long after and decided to change my PIN number with my bank.
