I love staying at the Novotel Olympic Park for business, it is in a very convenient location for travel to any side of Sydney. It is exceptionally clean, has great amenities around it and fantastic food options.

« Annual stay at Olympic Park for competitions »

Not a good start to our stay with problems getting into car park. Sat in car with no communication for over ten minutes with traffic behind. At least three cars departed in this time. Went down for breakfast on day two to be told that hot food had been cleared away, eggs were offered (don`t eat eggs) Checked time , twenty minutes before due close. Ladies were apologetic.

« The experience was OK. »

For the price I think that the Novatel did not offer the level of service that you would expect any where else in the world for $300+ per night. When I arrived there was no offer to take my bag up to the room, when I did raise it the reception staff just shrugged their shoulders and giggled, so I did it myself. The wifi didn't work at all during the entire two day stay. While my laptop connected to the wi-fi network the browser never opened to the Novatel website so that I could register my room number and access the internet. I raised this with the reception staff and they were not able assist, but they did try. I had stayed at the Pullman the previous year and even though the hotels were both inundated with School Spectacular children and parents the Pullman still seemed to be able to offer a really professional service throughout. It does benefit from being a more modern hotel. The last issue I had with the Novatel was the body odour of one of the reception staff. Suits and clothing need to be laundered regularly when you are in customer service. This lack of detail really shouldn't exist in a hotel charging this daily rate.

« very disappointed. »

As i very busy teacher at Schools Spectacular I arrived at the Novotel hoping to relax. Instead I had trouble entering my room and had to go back down to reception. Housekeeping had blocked my doorway with trolleys and my card was not working. When I finally got to reception in the very slow lift the kind receptionist did upgrade me to a balcony room. If that was an update i'm concerned what the other room was like. we had pre ordered a roll-away bed but due to the moved i then had to recontact reception to get this fixed up. The bed was finally delivered when we were rushing out the door back to Qudos Arena for the next show. With all the problems I was unable to even eat before I returned. After the show I returned to the room at approx 11pm. We then realise that there were no pillows or blankets for the roll away bed. Once again I contacted reception. I then had to wait up for this to be delivered to my room. It took almost 1hr for it to arrive. The lovely receptionist in the morning did give us complimentary breakfast. Unfortunately it was so busy I had to wait for glasses and bowls. Once again I ran out of time to enjoy my breakfast. Staying at the Novotel was suppose to make this busy weekend a lot easier but i was very disappointed by your hotel and the experience.

« Great stay even when extremely busy »

Very good stay. Extremely busy with School Spectacular but staff were wonderful. Breakfast was extremely busy so the night before we said in the morning we wanted a table for 7 and the staff managed to get one for us. The young valet attendant was fabulous and helpful under extreme pressure and on checkout Tiffany the supervisor was so very friendly and apologized that at times over the weekend we had to wait but we expected that and didn't mind at all. All the staff were amazing. Only 2 things that could improve - breakfast was extremely busy but food was topped up but often there was no glasses, cups, mugs, bowls and plates. It was very hot and the kids loved the free zooper doopers after rehearsals and performances but often the freezer was empty and needed filling.

While the welcoming was warm and efficient, beyond that the experience was average. My key did not work for the first room I was allocated so I had to start all over with another room. No apology issued by the front desk staff. The room itself is tired and showing major signs of wear and tear. The bath tub in particular was not pleasant at all - stained and chipped. For the money I paid I expected a lot better!

Lovely bedding, excellent front desk staff. However, no parking, the sink in the bathroom was blocked, no full length mirror. Lighting in bathroom too dull to apply make up. Bright red splashes on curtain bottoms and bedheads not calming and restful. It looked like a crime scene. Grouting in shower needed a good clean.
