From beginning to end, I enjoyed a seamless 5-night stay at the Sofitel in Philadelphia. The customer service was consistently professional and accommodating. Check-in was seamless and welcoming, housekeeping was superlative, the room was well-appointed, and even those who worked in the lounge/bar area were hospitable and attentive. I will definitely be back.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The hotel staff were very accommodating and kind. The hotel is was emasculate and absolutely beautiful! The location was also perfect with many shops and restaurants within walking distance. I will definitely be returning !

Tired but good location

The hotel needs a makeover. The rooms are tired. The grouting on our shower leaked and water got all over the floor. The mattress was soft and the carpeting was drab. The AC was also poor, and we had to move rooms because if this. We had rented two rooms for our party so the above remarks apply to all 3 rooms (our original two plus the new one we needed fir a better AC). In addition, the restaurant is only intermittently open and coffee is not available in the lobby at all. We have stayed at Sofitel hotels in other places and have loved them. We will not go back to this one until it gets a facelift. On the positive side, the staff is lovely.

As my son lives in Philly I find myself there a couple times a year. I've stayed at a couple of hotels in the area, but I keep coming back to Sofitel. I missed the Thanksgiving Buffet last year and I do miss the breakfast buffet, but I get it. Still the staff is always accommodating, and the rooms well appointed. I don't know why the rooms no longer have refrigerators or microwaves and hope to see them return. None the less The Sofitel is my go to spot.

Really Annoyed with all of the Holding Fees

Overall the hotel was nice, but my boyfriend and I were required to place a $500 hold on our card for “incidentals.” I can totally understand a $100 or $200 hold, but the price of the stay for the weekend wasn’t even that much. Just seems totally unnecessary. They also didn’t charge my card until we left, which was also weird, versus when I booked over the phone or when I checked in. Overall, if you’re going to stay here, make sure you go through your credit card statement with a fine tooth comb, because it really seems like they’re just waiting for you to miss something.

Its in a great location but the rooms are not sound proof like they say you can hear everyone in the hall or next door. Our hot water didn't work half the time.

Stayed one night. Place looks nice but details lacking. Staff polite and well trained but hotel rooms need attention. Why waste so much space in the bathrooms with a tub? Makes the shower too small. Shower head leaves something to be desired Room needs a mini fridge and not just a mini bar. Thin thin walls extremely hard to have quiet almost impossible not to hear next door guests Finally the valet swiped my Louis Vuitton dust bag for my shades.

Stayed 3 nights. First contact with valet and told $60 per night and alluded to car sitting in front of hotel. Advised to go to public lot around corner. Room was okay. AC set to 65 but felt warmer. Minibar with odd smell and warm and no room to put own drinks in to keep cold. No flat sheet on bed which is the 'French way' but seemed odd in these times. Bed very comfortable but not sure I would stay here again.

As a frequent guest for many years I become more and more disappointed. The Sofitel use to be an impeccable experience all across the check list. The service is okay thanks to a few great staff members. The rooms on the other hands have not met my standards of cleanliness. I’ve found gum on chairs, Satan wrap in smoke detectors, previous guest belonging one of which was a dirty sock. I’m naturally a tidy person so upon arrival I do my own cleaning just to make the space my own. I usually stay on business for a week or two. I was very disappointed at how much dust & dirt I find at check in during what’s supposed to be a double cleaning. House keeping should really be up to par especially during a pandemic but it seems service isn’t lacking & The Sofitel is going downhill. I’ve traveled to the Sofitel 3 months in a row only to find the same if not more disappointment in the presentation of the rooms. I don’t think I’ll be returning . I just can’t get with uncleanliness & lazy staff. Valet Parking stag... some are great with excellent customer service & on the other hand, some are down right a poor representation of the company. Really takes away from the experience.

Hotel Sofitel in Philadelphia is my favorite hotel. A great staff, attention to detail, and obviously very careful in this era of covid. Rooms are spacious. Location is wihtin walking distance of several restaurants and shopping. One you stay, you will want to come back again.
