When I arrived late on Monday evening, I was told I needed to pay the balance in full (more than £300). I explained it was a work trip and had been booked on a company credit card which I didn’t have with me. The receptionist looked again and said I had chosen the wrong option and made it more expensive by only guaranteeing the booking with this card. I asked him to charge the card it had been booked with but he said he could not and I must pay in full. £300 is a lot of money to me and luckily had enough to cover it but this would have put me in an awful situation if I didn’t have that money available. When I got to my room I found it basic as expected but the bathroom was totally unacceptable. There was a strong smell of stale urine coming from the toilet and when I turned the tap on it smelt of drains. As it was late I went to bed but went and complained at reception the next day. She said they would check the room. When I returned later that night, the Toilet smell seemed to have improved but every time I turned on the tap there was a stench of drains. No one contacted me to say they had checked the room or offered me to move to another room. This is terrible customer service. The breakfast was so limited and basic. Not an avocado in sight as advertised on your website or on the breakfast card left in the room. At £80 + a night I really would expect better than this. We have offices located in the technology park and I will ensure I spread the word that no one should ever book the ibis, it was a truly awful experience.

A delay at check in as people in front had an issue but we were offered a coffee and a seat while we waited. There were a number of dogs in the hotel (Crufts was on) which I didn't really like and they were quite noisy in the morning. The cleaners also had the vacuum cleaners going full blast at 7.30am on my floor which wasn't nice to be woken up to. Staff very friendly and helpful and room was clean. I didn't stay for breakfast.

Stayed two nights with family ( 3 rooms ) and two dogs for Crufts. Very comfortable, friendly convenient hotel. Would stay again. I do wish though that they could top up the tea, coffee, milk and at least empty the bin in your room each day. I did think that the beds would be remade as well, without having to ask.

My fourth stay at this super hotel, close to Coventry statio n to get a fast train to the NEC.

Staff were amazingly welcoming and helpful, especially the long term manager Diana who remembered me from previous stays. Nothing was too much trouble and my dog was made equally welcome. Recommended to friends who also enjoyed their stay.

Noisy room awful breakfast dirty bathroom

Won’t be stopping at this hotel ever again. Don’t stop in room 3 ...... noisy room too near lifts and reception. During night staff having loud conversations .... dirty toilet seat , poo marks under toilet seat .... breakfast was charged for but now wish I’d not paid extra as others just walked in with no check on room numbers. So there is no control. Area round hotel has nothing. Dodgy area. Not even cheap. Worst experience

Good breakfast value for money stay! I have stayed 5 times in this hotel and the staff is young & very helpful with excellent service! However the heating again was out of order so spare heating was used!

Nice rooms. Good breakfast. Clean and tidy. Only negative is main meal menu is a bit limited. Main disappointment with accor is that they remove points you have earnt each year so you never get the chance to build them up

Stayed for a family party in the city centre and the hotel location was spot on. Clean room and well sound proofed. Bathrooms are a bit quirky but had a great shower. Breakfast was really good. Would recommend
