Stayed just one night in room 405, hotel well centrally located close to station and centre. Very quiet room but WiFi was not good quality.

The room was cold and the air conditioning loud and not very effective. There appeared to be insects crawling around the Tea area and window, which looked like fleas of some kind. I photographed and video recorded and showed this to the receptionist. She apologised and assured me that i would be contacted the following day. I wasn't contacted by anybody from IBIS Stevenage.

The location is excellent if you want to get the train direct to London as it is literally a 5 minute walk. The reception and staff were low to it was just the room that was disappointing! The entrance and. Staff were lovely but the room was tired and and worn out! Cracks in the plaster and a hole in the bathroom door that someone had tried to cover. What a shame as could be a a lovely hotel!

Enjoyable, neat tidy and clean. Bar / restaurant seems to close earlier than advertised. There is much dilapidation : Shower trays that are only 1/2 inch deep not draining away. Sink mixer taps that do not turn to cold / drinking water. Sinks that do not drain away. Bathroom windows that are faulty and / or screwed shut. Shower hoses that are kinked and very difficult to use. Reception is over heated at circa 27C. --

Rooms uncoforably cold with no control of temperature

The air con seem to have been the only thermal control and this was apparently not controllable from the room as even set to max the room remained at around 16degrees. The radiator was not operating and no other heating was available.

Worst ever

Room clean. Two beds pushed together, one bed higher than the other. Both beds creaked if you so much as breathed. Duvets were zipped together which wasn’t particularly comfortable. All through night it sounded like I was sleeping next to a generator. No idea where noise was coming from but was very loud. Fortunately was only there for one night. Breakfast wasn’t particularly good. Spoke to four other guests who also had same experience/ opinion of the hotel.
