Hotel was extremely dirty and owful. The staff was also dirty and not friendly at all. The floor at the room was sticky and the room smell owful. Never ever again

I used to be a semi-regular guest at this hotel a few years ago as it was cheap,great location for central London and very clean. Sadly it is no longer the latter. The mess under the bed meant it had not been vacuum cleaned in a long,long time. In fact the carpet as a whole looked grubby. The safety strap on one of the windows meant it could open fully and it’s quite a height up. It was cheap so maybe I’m a bit hard.

Dear John we are deeply sorry for this situation, we always aim at welcoming our guest in the best of conditions. In this case, the technical issue in the distribution system with our partners created flows of reservations when the hotel was actually already full. I have telephoned and written with photographic evidence on my 2 night business trip stay. I have not had a reply for over a week this is not acceptable The Stevenage Borough Council have informed me that your hotel was used to house homeless people during lockdowns. It is clear that since this time which the last lockdown was 5 months ago your hotel has not been cleaned at all. The hallways, lifts and reception areas were dirty My room was filthy, the floor and carpets full of stains and not hoovered, food was around the desk area, under my bed were used condoms, tissues, medicine, food, q tips and shringes The shower tray and toilet had not cleaned and whilst I was out working a 14 hour day I came back to an un serviced room.

Thank you for your review. I have addressed your complaints raised separately. I can confirm that our hotel was not used to house the homeless during the lock downs, so the information you have received is non factual. The hotel does have regular public area cleans but during the current circumstances staffing levels are a strain, which leads to the schedule sometimes being delayed due to looking after our guests requests, we do then add additional points and extra detailed cleans to ensure it is then brought back to the standard it should be - it is a very short period a matter of hours where it may be delayed. With regards to your room, this was addressed with housekeeping and an exception to normal practices, the rooms are normally cleaned to a high standard and we are regularly passing feedback to them to help better improve at all times. The rooms are not being serviced until requested, this is on a welcome letter given the information. However I do appreciate that this was not instated during your stay but we have rectified that going forward.

The reception staff was good and we got the room quickly. As I walked from the lift to my room on the second floor, the corridor looked like it hadn't been hoovered for weeks, with debris visibly everywhere on the carpet. In the bathroom in the room, the shower has hair from previous guests on the walls. For the amount charged for the room, the room is very below quality in comparison to other hotel chains. I will not stay at IBIS hotels if I have choices in the near future.

As a quite regular user of this hotel, I was disappointed when our room wasn’t cleaned after asking reception before we went out for the day. We also found cobwebs, random hairs and dirt when we first got in our room. This was a shame as we had to phone for fresh towels the following morning.

Was only for one night as we had a day festival to go to only 15 mins away. Lady at the front desk was super helpful and quick, not sure I parked in the right place round the back but was free and there were spaces? The only downside was that the room wasn’t completely clean, corners of dust and hair but bed and bathroom were okay!

The walls and floors were dirty. Breakfast service does not exist.Public areas are poorly maintained. The elevators had a bad smell and parts held together by adhesive tape. Don´t use this hotel please.

Thank you for your review. We have not reopened breakfast fully yet and are working towards opening this in the upcoming weeks. Unfortunately some fixtures were awaiting replacement but were elements that required being there and the only way we could hold it was with the tape. The parts were delayed but I can now inform you they have arrived and been fitted. We are working on deep cleaning the public areas, but due to staff constraints I can openly admit it has been a difficult task but something that is improving daily.

The hotel is in serious need of a refurb. Mouldy food kicked under the bed and just left there. The 'double bed' is two singles pushed together Asked for extra pillows never arrived Bathroom smelt bad

The hotel is in desperate need of refurb. Our room was just awful, there was mouldy food kicked under the bed it must have been there a while because it was really mouldy. The bathroom smelt really bad. We asked for extra pillows because there was only two and they never came. A ‘double’ bed is two singles pushed together. There was a random man that kept walking around the hotel and he knocked on our door twice and said both times that he got the wrong room. Just really not a pleasant stay and probably won’t be coming back. The cleanliness is not up to scratch. There was a massive crack in the wall as well. The air con is rubbish, it’s put by the door and does not reach to the bed so the room got really hot being up on the fifth floor. Not a comfortable stay. Not worth what I paid! The only good thing about this hotel is the free wifi, it does work very well. Also when asking about parking the lady at the desk didn’t tell us that we would still have to pay for it if we took the chip coin to the hotel desk. She just said to us that they can validate it there for us and mentioned nothing about still having to pay. So on top of what I paid for the appalling room I then had to pay extra for parking which I thought was free- maybe I just didn’t understand but still needs to be mentioned that you actually have to pay!

Toilet paper in the toilet. Sink got stuck on first night. No place to get water. Window without safety lock in both rooms. Crap kettle, full of linescale. Only 1 towel for 2 people. Pillow cases missing!!!!

I arrived late evening after a long drive and was greeted by a lovely member of staff who made check in super quick and easy. Then I got to the room... there were suspicious stains on the woodwork and blind along with a tool left on the radiator. Thankfully the bed and bathroom were clean and it was only a stop over. I didn't mention the issues as it was late and I wanted to just settle down for the night as I had a long drive the next day. I was on the 5th floor and wasn't able to sleep until the party ended on the lower floor This hotel is ok if you are on a stop over but wouldn't stay here unless it was needed to stay over again. I would like to thank all the staff for being so lovely and friendly.

Quick check in however room not clean, toilet was dirty, floor was sticky and the staff obviously sweep the individual rooms out into the carpeted corridor which needed vacuuming- won’t be rushing back

The stay was okay, cleanliness could have been better and someone who worked there walked into our room after one quick knock, might aswell not have knocked if walked in that fast. Our checkout was 5pm so I would have thought they would have had a list of rooms occupied.

I Am An "ALL" Gold Card Member. Everything Was Fine. Room Clean. House Keeping Good. Staff Very Helpful and Friendly. Telephone In Room Rang Very Quietly and I Had Trouble Hearing The Call. No Clock In Room. T.V. Kept Timing Out. Only 1 Of 2 Lifts Working.

Room was clean and comfortable. Some of the public areas such as reception and lifts are showing signs of being tired, I’m aware it’s been a tough time for this industry however it could do with some care and attention.
