Injured myself in the room, received no follow up

I injured my foot on a door stopper in the room which was missing it’s rubber covering. This happened Saturday morning, but was not able to report until Saturday evening as we had to leave for a family event and reception was too busy when leaving in the morning. I ended up needing to go to a walk in clinic in Traralgon during the day for 2 1/2 hours to have this looked at and treated as the toe appeared to be broken. On our return in the evening I reported this to Jay at the front desk and sent him a picture of the injury before having it wrapped and the door stop causing this. He said to speak with him in the morning on check out, but he was not at reception on our checkout. I mentioned this to the gentleman we checked out with and was assured we would hear back. As of today (dec 2nd) we have not heard from anyone.

Great. I had a family issue that required me to check out at 5pm the day before I was supposed to. The staff were understanding and did not charge me the night's accommodation or late checkout. Great service that will ensure I will book here again on all future tips to ACT.

Found underground car parking an absolute schamozzle nothing explained to us before arrival rushed into leaving our car by car park staff .Had to wait for car to return off site to get extra things from vehicle Not happy would not stay at Novotel again

We stayed for a family weekend away in an Executive King room. We found the room to be spacious, clean and the bed extremely comfy. We would have liked more pillow options. The bathroom could definitely do with some updating but was perfectly useable. We didn't have the best view (out across rooves and a coach car park), but luckily we weren't spending too much time in the room. The pool and gym were great. The hotel is situated in a central location, close to shops, restaurants and bars. Parking on site is small and we seemed to be there on a weekend where people had no idea about courteous parking and how to empty bags from their boot and park in a way that would not cause issues for others. Very inconsiderate. Probably why they were seeming to push the valet parking, but this isn't necessary if you know how to park your own car. Welcome gift as an Accor Gold member was bubbles and lollipops for the kids.

Very tired hotel When we entered the room, it immediately smelled musty. We were staying using an Accor Advantage Plus free night, with an upgrade to this (king) room. To be honest, even if I had not had to pay extra for the room, I would still have been disappointed. My wife and I both independently came to the conclusion that we would not stay here again. Given the COVID-19 situation with almost random ability to travel, we decided that we would stay close by (we live in Canberra). If we chose to stay with Accor in Canberra again, it would definitely be at the Sebel (judging by the photographs on their website). The single highlight of the stay was our dinner at your restaurant, my wife and I enjoyed our meal and the service was good.

Staff were terrific in sorting out a very quiet room for us as requested. Our room, whilst a bit aging, was clean, large and very comfortable. The pool area was very relaxing but if the temperature of the pool and spa was increased more, it would have been perfect. Something that can easily be rectified. The breakfast was buffet with lots of great options and barista coffee, excellent. Enjoyed a delicious dinner with staff efficient and friendly. Really good location and great parking. Thank you to all for making our stay so welcoming and comfortable. We look forward to visiting again.

We enjoyed our stay but found the aircon in our room was really loud each time it turned on. Made me wake up a fair bit because I am a light sleeper. The service at Breakfast seemed a bit disorganised. Took a while to order, missing cutlery etc. But we understand that this was possibly due to not having enough staff on or training new staff due to recruitment losses over COVID. Other than that everything was great and we enjoyed our stay, thank you

Stayed one night passing through Canberra. Room was comfortable and roomy but a little outdated. Unfortunately we stayed Sun night and the restaurant and bar was not open and most of the surrounding restaurants were also closed

This hotel is so convenient for the CBD and all that Canberra has to offer. Our room was large & well appointed, the bathroom clean & the bed comfortable. The staff at reception are helpful and courteous. We did not use the restaurant as we had friends in the city and ate out. The Novatel is well situated with many eateries within walking distance. We would not hesitate to stay there again.

OVERALL, QUITE HAPPY WITH MY STAY. BREAKFAST HOWEVER, WAS A VERY SLOW EVENT. I HAD BREAKFAST ON TWO CONSECUTIVE DAYS AND ON BOTH OCCASIONS, A SIMPLE MEAL OF POACHED EGGS AND BACON TOOK AN HOUR FROM ORDER TO SERVICE. THE WAIT STAFF WERE VERY FRIENDLY (AND APOLOGETIC) AND THE MEAL, WHEN I GOT IT, WAS HOT, TASTY AND WELL PRESENTED - JUST SLOW.

Hotel was clean, neat and reception staff were great. We chose to stay here due to the indoor heated pool as it was a rainy weekend and could still keep the kids entertained if needed be. Great location, close to shops and attractions. Buffet breakfast was not a buffet you selected a main hot breakfast meal and then could get your own toast, cereal or yoghurt muesli. Not much for kids to pick from and only 1 coffee was included so had to pay for the other. There was a communication barrier with kitchen/floor staff as our order was mixed up twice. When I stay somewhere having breakfast is a treat so I was really disappointed.

Visiting our daughter for a weekend, we chose to stay at the Novatel Canberra, it is in a great location just on the edge of the shopping and dining precinct, and has car parking that is easy to access. They were fairly busy due to relaxation of some Covid restrictions, but check in was smooth. Rooms are generous and comfortable, and the indoor pool is always popular. We chose to have dinner in the restaurant after our long drive, whilst the service was good, it would benefit from a slightly expanded or more consistent menu, The current menu is a little confused not being cafe, nor a quality dinner menu, but the quality of the food was quite good. Breakfast was excellent, however on our departing morning, some issues at the restaurant forced us to abandon our reservation and travel outside to a local cafe around the corner which was quite quirky and had outstanding food. checkout was seamless with staff efficient and courteous, and were pleasantly greeted with our car being brought around to the front of the hotel. Overall our stay was quite good and will definitely stay again

Stayed at the Novotel, breakfast was included, we had a booking, people were walking out, as they had being waiting for over an hour, we asked if we will be waiting for an hour also they said they would try there best to have our breakfast serviced quickly, our breakfast was serviced in an hour, no explanation why, we did ask, juice, cereal, things were missing in the buffet, lot of disappointed customers and people were walking out

Just had two nights at Novotel but enjoyed our stay very much. Room was quite spacious and well appointed. Wi fi worked well. Comfortable bed. Breakfast on level 1 was very good. Excellent location right at Civic with buses and tram right at the door. Only slight gripe is that parking in underground car park is a bit clunky, not sure why you need a voucher to exit the car park.

Each time I stay (because of work-only, limited choices) here at Novotel Canberra, it has gotten worse. The place is old, dark, smelly and gives an overall unpleasant feel. Everything feels unprofessional, even this survey, which I have already been asked to fill in a form for Novotel, now it's been requested by Accor again, shows how the customer experience is.

2 Stars only because the Reception staff was friendly and welcoming. Other than that I am glad that I only booked for one night and was able to book much better place for rest of my stay in Canberra(that too for less money). The place is outdated, carpets stained and stinky. Not recommendable.
