I stayed 4 nights and disliked the fact that service was reduced to a level that even Covid-related measures cannot - in my opinion - justify. No room service during the entire stay is one thing but not asking the client one single time whether everything is fine or whether he/she needs anything is another. I had to go to the reception to ask for additional tea and coffee pouches twice during my stay (they could have been deposited in front of my door) and had to myself bring down my trash to a public bin outside of the building, which I found slightly over the top for staying at a 4 star hotel.

I realize that traveling during the pandemic is challenging for all and that hotels continue to struggle. I also think that with fewer customers and the desire to recoup lost revenue over the past year should motivate hotel staff and the hotel to BE EXCELLENT. I was largely disappointed by our stay. My family and I were there for a few nights in late December 2020. With the exception of the male front desk worker (who was fabulous), the rest of the hotel team was pretty mediocre. Check-in: We arrived about an hour (there was less traffic than we expected) and I went to check whether our room was ready. I was told a half hour. After a half hour, my spouse went to check, and he was told an hour. I went to double-check again, and I was told it was actually ready. The frustrating part was that we had to wait in line forever every time to check on the status -- that is because hotel workers refuse to look up to see how many people are in line. The service could be a lot more efficient if you had 1) a dedicated staff to take the phone calls (and you should prioritize customers who are physically in front of you over customers on the phone... take down their number and tell them you'll call them back!), 2) a concierge to answer questions about things to do (amazed that front desk workers were talking forever with customers, providing suggestions on things to do), and 3) a staff that had the basic instinct to look up to get a sense of how many customers you have waiting... (we had customers waiting in line through the door)! It's not rocket science, just basic customer service. Positive point: the hotel lobby was pretty and looked modern. But, it's not like we were able to enjoy it, since we were placed in the annex -- across the street, where the elevator was BROKEN. We rarely ever saw hotel staff (except the ones delivering room service). I understand that because of COVID-19, there was no daily housekeeping and that's fine... but it didn't feel like you were at a hotel. If I had known this would happen, I would have stayed at an Airbnb. Room service: With the national restrictions, there were very limited takeout options around town. But the room service menu was extremely limited and nothing sounded appetizing. It was very disappointing. I read in the press that to accommodate customers, the Mercure provided tables in every room. That's a nice start, but what about a little fridge in that case? Check-out: As I was given the option of getting our hotel receipt emailed to me, I said yes. When hotels email you the receipt, you normally get it in your inbox within minutes, if not immediately -- it is 2020/2021 after all, everything should be automated. By evening time, I still had not received my e-receipt, so I called thinking the front desk staff probably forgot to click on the right button. The woman who picked up was rude and said they hadn't gotten to it -- what?? and because I sounded surprised, she was like "why is that surprising?" well... because that's never happened to me before and when you're supposedly a 4-star hotel, that shouldn't happen. Plus, basic customer service is you apologize for the inconvenience and you say you'll take care of it right away. The next day still nothing. So the following evening, my spouse called, the male front desk worker picked up and made it happen (honestly, the only competent guy -- he should be training everyone else). Like the title says, we will not be staying at this hotel again. We were looking forward to getting away after being confined at home for so long, but it wasn't the relaxing getaway we were hoping. This was low season + COVID-19, so there weren’t that many customers. I can’t imagine what this place must be like during normal times, but we will definitely not be there to find out.

We stayed at Mercure Chamonix for 2 nights, 26-27 December 2020 after being relocated from another hotel which decided not to open due to COVID. Our experience: - Long wait for check-in, only one person at reception and at least 4 families ahead of us; - The hotel was clearly not full, but the receptionist insists that we have to wait until 4pm to access our room (eventually she agrees to call housekeeping and says we check in after 1h); - We hear her offer the person ahead of us a discounted parking rate, but when we ask her she responds "there is no discount on parking". When we check out, my husband asks a different receptionist who offers us a 50% discount; -The biggest problem of our stay: our phone was broken. We asked 3-4 times to do something about it, but it didn't work the entire time of our stay. Given we were in a different building, on the 3rd floor and the elevator was also not working, every time we needed something we had to go outdoors and queue at the reception! -Given that everyone was eating in their rooms, more should have been prepared to facilitate eating takeout, like changing the garbage and making disposable cutlery available.

The hotel has just been refurbished, is located prime in Chamonix and the staff is really amazing (effective, helpful and seemingly happy to help!). The conditions are really complicated and they make the stay feel really nice

Had a great 3 days at Chamonix a good resort for skiers and partying and sight seeing, the hotel was in a fantastic location walking distance to everything. Room with balcony and hotel breakfast was lovely the breakfast was exceptional

Rooms are cosy for 4 member families. Breakfast is a very wide choice continental buffet with almost everything you can imagine. Reception staff are pretty clueless. They charged me for a ski pass card which is free in all ski shops in Chamonix. The view from my room balcony was on top of the entrance roof. The roof was littered with wood planks, ladders and tools thrown about. It was an eyesore that workers left there hoping the snow would cover them! Where is the manager of this hotel? what does he do?

Moreover, the 3€ ski pass card is only included in a 2-days package and which allows you to recharge your passes whenever you want. And it also saves you endless queues at the ski lifts to buy a ski pass. However, we are very happy that you highlighted the large buffet for the breakfast that we proposed to you ! Hotel is well located in Chamonix downtown, has a convenient parking facility close by and also its own expensive garage. Breakfast is very good and the kitchen can handle the crowded group during the peak ski season. Unfortunately, the experience was very bad due to a dysfunctional bathroom due to a clogged drain without any support after several requests to the hotel, without any alternative offered limiting the ability to take a simple shower! After 30 seconds, the drain was completed fully and many hairs started to float out of the drain, a very disgusting experience. Only after presenting a menace to take a short movie of it, showing the brand, the manager sent someone to clean it late in the night, just removing the hairs that were preventing the water to flow through the drain. The same situation happened to the shower drain as to the sink drain !!!! Not limited to this, during the next day, the curtain dropped to the ground and with it cement from the roof all over the room during the morning. Following this episode, I asked to fix it and by another prof of neglect with the guess, once I arrived with my son late afternoon a red blanked was fixed by staples to the window to avoid the light with an excuse that it will be properly fixed the next day, but the cement and dirty caused by the falling of the curtain remained all over the bedroom and the bed! Again, after complaining for the 3rd time about the same thing, and asking at least to give me access to a vacuum cleaner, only in the 4th time when I asked for the address of a hospital due to allergic attack of my son to the dirt, the night front desk receptionist went to the room and offered another one, helping me to transfer everything to other similar apartment.

Hotel is in a good location with a 5 minute walk to ski bus stop. Good breakfast choice uncomfortable bed. The room was much smaller than advertised on the web site which was a bit disappointing. One area of concern was the room key sopped working a couple of times and reception did not ask for your name or ID when getting a new key so literally anyone could get in. i saw this happen to other people too so not just me.

No ski lockers available on day of arrival so had to lug 3 sets of skis/boots up to the room, not ideal. Bear in mind we booked months ago. Poor choice of TV channels for UK English speaking clients. Had to change in the Bagagerie on last day, not great.

The hotel was lovely, large comfortable room and very good service. I just have two negatives. The room was exceptionally hot, even after turning the radiators off. We had to sleep with a window open (in February) and were still hot. This meant we didn’t sleep as well as we would have liked after a long days skiing. Secondly having paid 45 euros extra for a late check out, somehow this was missed by the hotel reception. So we had the cleaners knocking to clean the room and looking very perturbed when they saw we were still there. Then reception came up and knocked and asked us to vacate the room. I had to show them my online booking confirmation. After this I felt we should rush to leave the room even though we’d paid to stay longer. It definitely marred a good stay.
