« Regular visitors to Rabat, always happy to stay at the Mercure Sheherazade »

We enjoy coming back to the Mercure Sheherazade. The location is a bit out of the way, but in easy walking distance of the centre in one direction, and the Tour Hassan, Kasbah des Oudayas and Bou Regreg on the other. My husband has dietary restrictions and finds that even so the wide range of choice at the breakfast buffet allows him to start the day with a well-balanced meal. This time I had a problem booking online through the Accor website (unable to complete payment - I think the problem was with my bank rather than the Accor site) so I rang the hotel directly. The staff member I spoke to was very helpful, found my partially completed booking online and confirmed it manually, enabling me to pay once we arrived at the hotel. One slight negative comment: on both this visit and our previous one, we found minor issues with the room - a bathroom door which didn't close easily, a light fitting coming loose from the wall - things which the housekeeping staff should pick up on. Maybe they should be encouraged to check fittings which are not included in the daily cleaning routine?

Experience worth the diamond. The lady at the reception were so kind and helped us with fast checkin, complimentary upgrade and also guided us to the nearest market and new year night celebration. We were offered late check out. I requested the chef to make sauted vegetables which she did for both days. Police Security was there outside so it was safe. Hotel was close to Sultan Mosque and Tomb. House keeping staff was super awesome. Hotel manager was kind and helped us with late checkout. Issues:- - the hotel is bit outdated. - no shaving kit, slippers, bath gown was not there - welcome drink had only orange juice - breakfast had no veg options or less - staff at the restaurant was not very friendly

« Problem with one charge »

Hi, I was charged twice for one of the nights in the hotel, I just saw it in my bank account, I saw that throw the accord webpage there are 3 reservations for me in those days, and I am afraid of receive another charge,it had to be some internet issue, I am in the hotel this week and I will try to fix it with them this night, if not I hope you fix it, because I am going to be almost the full year here in Marocco and I would like to stay in your hotel if nothing more is going wrong.

« Cartel for airport transfers »

on the 7th of December 2019 i checked out and asked to mr said for a taxi to go to the airport. after a long wait mr said said that the taxi arrived and ready for us. As soon as i got out i realised that the vehicle wasnt a taxi and asked to the driver if he was a taxi. He replied saying he was a private chauffeur and that he would take me to the airport for 250 DHR. I went back inside the hotel asking to mr.said why he had called a private chauffeur when i only asked for a taxi and he said that that that was a taxi. I dont think it is fair to sustain such a cartel. I used taxis in Rabat for 10DHR. 250DHR is what i would pay in London for such a transfer. I didnt ask for a private chauffeur. Regards Tommaso

We had a good stay. The hotel was disappointing. The room was very small and was in real need of refurbishment. The staff at reception were excellent- going out of their way to make our stay as good as it was.

« Friendly staff but poor quality »

Staff was friendly and welcoming. The rest of the experience not so great. Room: a water leak in the bathroom closet made a permanent dripping sound, which was really uncomfortable to sleep at night. The hotel did try to do something about it, but it return 2 days later. The insulation also isn’t optimal, so sounds in the neighboring rooms are quite audible. Hardly slept overall. Restaurant: mostly buffet, not the best I’ve had. There is menu if the buffet doesn’t please, but against not the best of options (diversity or taste). Again this is highly balanced my the staff friendliness, but this doesn’t suffice to convince me staying there again.

« Run-down hotel, urgently needs refurbishment »

Unfortunately, the hotel has further deteriorated since my last visit. The room furniture is very faded, even partially broken, the shower did not drain properly, stale cigarette smell in the room, etc. There is absolutely no light in the room near the desk, which makes working impossible. The staff does not seem to be motivated at all to provide great service or improve anything. It's a disgrace for Accor hotels. An upgrade and management change is urgently needed.

Clean, comfortable room with no noise from outside, but voices from the adjoining room were easily heard through the communicating door. Plenty of choice for breakfast, but were surprised that there were no oranges or bananas as were provided at Ibis hotels in other cities. Excellent location, being quiet but close to Hassan Tower tram stop (2 stops from Rabat Ville station).

« Great localisation, nice hotel but the refurbish is needed »

Hotel is located in the center of Rabat, also close to touristic attractions, but the hotel itself is rather in poor condition. Many pieces of equipment especially in a bathroom is overused, which give not very nice impression. I've expected more about Mercure brand of Accor hotels.

I have only two remarks in this stay: - the carpet is very old and not clean, should be another kind of floor (wood or ceramic) will be more clean for sure. - the room should have more light on the ceiling
