The room was clean and a great size for what we needed. Only thing that was a bit annoying was the noise of the elevator within the room (221).

Had asked for a quiet room. My room for four nights was next to the lifts. Also while waiting for airport pick up asked for a coffee and was told to go around the corner for this. Pity i couldnt get one up where breakfast was being served

Allow me to apologize for the room allocation, rest assured that I have personally amended your profile to ensure a quiet room away from the lifts is to be allocated in the future. Should you have advised our Duty Manager at the time of your concern regarding the room allocation, we would have been able to relocate you to another room after your first night. In regards to the coffee while waiting for the airport pick-up, depending on what time of the day it was, you should be able to grab a coffee from Louden Restaurant where breakfast was served if it was during breakfast time. Didn't like that there was no onsite parking. On checkout we didn't get a car park voucher, our oversight to ask, but reception staff could have enquired if we needed one. would have saved $$$

As a long tern visitor to Melbourne I have stayed at the Welcome Hotel over a number of years. the change of format with the sister hotel took a bit of getting used to but the bar and restraint were good standard. I just missed the old lounge where we gathered for a quiet drink. I was a bit disappointed that the new bar had no nibblies available during happy hour.

I absolutely recommend staying at the Mecure of you are in Melbourne. It is perfectly located to shopping and theatres. You can easily walk or hop on the free tram to explore all that Melbourne city has to offer. The staff at check in and out are lovely as are all the door staff. As an added bonus it's great value I always stay here when in Melbourne

« Good CBD location, well serviced. »

We had 2 rooms for family including baby. Staff arranged both rooms on same floor which was a great help as there was a lot of movement between due to baby-sitting. The hotel was well located for some of our family who were attending the Ladies Final day of the Australian Open tennis. When our room service person saw we had the baby, she supplied a few extra towels, etc, which was very helpful. Due to unfortunate family illness, we didn't have opportunity for the dining area, but found many local quality takeaways and cafes when we needed them. The buffet breakfasts were excellent as usual at this hotel (we have stayed there previously). We recommend this hotel to friends as a very good central location in Melbourne CBD, with many close facilities, and close to free tram service in Swanston St.

« We have stayed plenty of times but this time was disappointing! »

It was very slow to check in. I didn’t appreciate being charged twice on arrival for the third year in a row. I don’t like having to go outside the pokie area to get back to my room. Our room itself was good.

We found the gentleman at the reception is really friendly and helpful, he looks like Chinese, with big eyes . I really appreciate his help showing us where things are on the map. Very patient and professional. Another tall lady (dark skin, long hair) at reception wasn't as good as him. She seems not want to be bothered, and gave the minimum response for whatever I asked. The breakfast was really good, so keep it up. Thank you very much for the hospitality.
