The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, the ones I have met. There was an issue where a certain situation wasn't handled properly with regard to dietary requirements for my boss. I understand that you are a small establishment. So you are forgiven

Great layout of the room, modern and spacious. Although, I was checked into another room during another visit, which was on the opposite side, and I found it to be a little disappointing.

« Quick visit to Jo’burg. »

Was in town for 5 days and 4 nights, spent them at Mercure RANDBURG, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean, breakfast was good and the staff was very friendly. Close to a Mall with quite a number of restaurants, it closes at 22:00 so no sleep is disturbed.

« With a bit more attention, this hotel can go from average to GREAT! »

This was my third stay at your hotel. Sadly, not as good an experience as previously. First room the A/C was faulty. Terrible night. Other small maintenance items are not being attended to: Broken door latch, Bedside lampshade lose and skew. Shaving mirror broken off. Net curtain somehow was attached to the normal curtain (I assume a quick fix by someone). Luckily I was assigned a new room the next day. A/C was working. But again small things are being neglected. No knob on the desk drawer. Shelf in fridge broken. One foot missing off fridge. Reading light lose. Its also a pity that I was unable to book a room any more that EXCLUDES breakfast. While the breakfast was adequate, R165 was shockingly high. The roof in the dining room needs a serious clean or new coat of paint - its not looking good. So, generally an okay stay, but management seriously needs to spend more time actually doing regular inspections. At R780 a night, I believe I could find better.

The place was centrally situated for me, very clean, very friendly staff. Good breakfast served for all the days I was there. Good value for money as I had to book at short notice and even when I extended this was still reasonable

The Receptionist was very friendly and helpful on the day of checking in. However, very unfriendly treatments was experience on the day of check out. We had made arrangement the previous day (3rd) that we will be leaving early and therefore requested takeaway for breakfast; and the gentleman who was taking this request (one Mr Lesedi) indeed make arrangement with the Chef, who in turn confirmed that takeaway breakfast will be arranged. VERY SURPRISINGLY, the Receptionist who was on duty in the morning od Saturday 4th gave us a cold face saying " nothing has been arranged for you!" SURPRISINGLY, I said "this is very unfortunate as Mr Lesedi made arrangement with the Chef in my presence, but now you are telling us that nothing has been arranged!?" It was only after checking that the gentleman said "ok here is the note for your breakfast". The question is: WHY DIDN'T HE CHECK BEFORE GIVING ME A NEGATIVE ANSWER, AND FOR THAT MATTER ON A VERY NEGATIVE TONE?

« Wondeful Stay »

Our stay is always very satisfying and wonderful, the chicken salad and the beef wrap is amazing........ Just a few things, your staff wanted to move us to another room but we were already comfortable. The Fridge didn't work The Shower leaks water threw the seals as it doesn't seal properly at the bottom The Soap holder is about to fall off the wall The Carpet also seams a little dirty But otherwise a wonderful stay and will definitely be back.
