The Hotel was great and the staff were very helpful and attentive, especially Javed and Raminta, who were really friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was fab and catered for all. We especially liked the delicious sausages. Would definitely stay there again as it was so easy to drive into Cardiff from there with no hassle.

Arrived to find the room hadn't been serviced properly. Bin still full of previous occupant's rubbish, no soap in soap dispenser next to sink. No soap and no shampoo in dispensers in the shower. Wasn't sure what was clean or not. Not impressed with Ibis/Accor cleaning enhanced system during Covid times. Accor Allsafe label - meaningless? Receptionist apologised and gave us a different room and a drink voucher - bit of a hassle at 10pm but not much more they could do. Otherwise

Staff were super helpful and friendly Rooms a little dated and could do with some modernising although clean furniture looked a little shabby. Location good for the city centre although watch out for the rogue taxi drivers who will charge over the odds for a trip back to the hotel after a night out

Functional but very dated/tired

Check-in was quick and efficient, free parking on site. However the hotel itself is quite dated. I stayed in room 220 which has a beside locker that is damaged and no longer attached to the wall, the surfaces are clearly laminate and water has got under the laminate on some so they are bubbling. Besides this, if there isn't the budget to make the small improvements required to the furniture at least clean properly. The bed and bedside locker have come free from the wall and it's pretty dirty behind both. Bathroom mirror was also unclean and sink had water in it when I arrived? . To refurbish these rooms, small touches would go a long wayto improving the product offering as a budget hotel I can understand not totally renovating a room... But her rid of broken furniture!

The hotel was well located near the M4 motorway but not so close that is was noisy. Good for overnight stop if you did not want to go into Cardiff centre. Provision for evening meal was rather limited due to Covid restrictions but breakfast was excellent with plenty to choose from to set you up for the day. Bedroom was comfortable if a bit chilly on arrival. We were given a choice of floors on arrival which was good. Staff were friendly and helpful.

First impressions from the outside good, location good all major links. Once in the hotel front reception poor to say this advertising as a business hotel on a business park first impressions of reception/bar/restaurant/lounge was not what I expected very dull and uninviting. The hotel advertises a “Restaurant” called Foggs but reality is it’s fast food such as goodfellas at £11 a pizza. The bar was basically the reception area with two drinks on draft and a couple of beers. Checking-in was pleasant lady at the reception was very professional and cheerful. I got allocated my room on the top floor as requested. Once in the room it was dark and dingy, in need of renovation the cabinets were Soddy as did the whole room. Everything looked grimy and sticky, the bathroom was clean but poor finish to the quality of bathroom was in need of some TLC. The tv was battered and the remote broken and a smokey smell just lingered through the hotel room and hotel in general. I went back down to reception and explained the problem with the tv and smell to which the lady apologised and got a new room allocated for me. The next room was no better same smell and Soddy feel this room looked as though it had a quick clean. The bathroom was worst than the one before and had hair on the floor off the bathroom and shower along with a pubic hair on the toilet. At this point I was tired and ready for food so I used my own hand sanitiser to give the bathroom a once over. Having the service station over the road was brilliant as they had KFC and a shop this was a life saver as the facilities at the hotel was not what I expected. The first night was a nightmare the door lock seemed loose and flimsy not what you want as a solo traveler. The fire alarm went off although this was brief it was enough to awake and panic. No staff members acknowledge the fact it had gone off that night or throughout the visit, I found this odd as you would have thought they would want to reassure guests and what with the smell of smoke throughout the hotel. The first morning I skipped breakfast as the feel of the hotel was just unclean and the fact it had no real restaurant facilities. On returning to my hotel room it had been cleaned and fresh towels laid although it did feel much cleaner the smell and room where still not quite up to standards of your own hotels and others. This night was a much better night and in the morning the breakfast was actually quite pleasant much to my surprise. My trip was extended with work but after the overall bad experience I choose to book another hotel this was quite a shock as I have stayed in quite a lot of Ibis/Ibis budget hotels and found them pleasant. I understand this is a 2 star hotel but in this day and age but I feel this is advertised as more than it actually has to offer and that the cleanliness is just not seen as a priority. Also I think you have a real problem with people smoking within the hotel rooms as the hotel just smells of smoke. Unfortunately in the future I will think twice before booking with Ibis as this has really put me off as for the price charged competitors have a lot higher standards I feel.

Stayed at this ibis and felt extremely safe. Checked in on line, when arrived at the hotel it was clearly signed for masks to be worn, hand sanitisers where available. Staff and guests abided by 2 metre space. Once in the room a leaflet explaing that staff would not be cleaning the room during our stay unless we requested, we were only there for 3 days so no need. Tea and coffee supplies were available at reception. It also explained what to do when checking out. At checkout we left the room key in the check out box. Everything was clearly explained and we felt safe at all time but knew if we had any problems the staff were available 24/7

We expected the price to be quite high as this was a last minute booking but were pleasantly surprised. The room was very spacious and in a quiet location thus ensuring a good night's sleep. The hotel and room was very clean,the staff very helpful and it was good value for money. We will definitely look to book an Ibis Hotel in the future as we were very impressed with the hotel and the price.

Room cleanliness slipping

I have used this hotel regularly since 2002 and usually it is a reasonable hotel for one or two nights. This last stay was disappointing in that I found my room lacking the cleanliness I have been used to, the toilet had not been cleaned properly, the water in the sink took ages to clear and the tea/coffee facility was a let down as the mugs were sticky. This may have been a one-off so I shall use the hotel again but if I have the same experience I shall use another hotel.
