My husband and friend stay every year to visit santa pod. This year was the worst. One of their nights was put off from the year before and added to this year, which meant i had to do two nights as a separate booking (so they had two reservation numbers). When they arrived, i had a call to say the moved night wasn't paid for. I logged on to my account for them to then agree it was actually paid for. The guys then sorted with the receptionist that they can indeed stay in the same room for the two separate bookings. They arrived back on their third night later in the evening to find all their bags packed (mixed both the guys dirty clothes into each others bags) and the bags had been moved to reception hallway for anyone to pick up and then put back into the room. The biggest annoyance was a leaky tap on the first night which was reported to have a come back saying (because of covid no one can enter the room to fix the tap) but they are happy to have the cleaners touch all the guys stuff, mix up the guys stuff and bag it all up without asking reception if there was a reason for there bits to still be in the room. Lack of communication and 'covid' excuses. one rule for one and one for another. These guys use this hotel every year and have done for the last 7 years. Due to not being able to speak to a manager and being extremely unhappy with what happened, they will not go back.

It was my first time staying at a ibis hotel and I had heard bad things. But I have to say the single beds were comfortable and miles better than the pull out bed at the other hotels breakfast was spot on not only serving from 6.30 on a weekend so you can eat before having to go out early but very nicely prepared and good choice. I would recommend to anyone only one downside was rooms could have been a bit cleaner I will be using ibis again

Easy to find comfy clean bed staff friendly and helpful Breakfast ok but not fantastic near by macdonalds and priory pub very nice

Convenient stay - rooms need an upgrade

Rooms need an upgrade Carpets old and worn and stained. Bathroom had many cracked tiles and moldy silicon in shower.

Wifi was not working for half of the day. Beds are old and visually not pleasing at all. Plus the carpets smell. Would definitely find better standards at a different hotel for that price on that night.

Everything i wanted. Well placed for Santa pod. Clean comfortable room and a reasonable breakfast. Hate scrambled egg and would prefer a fried one. The hash browns were very soggy..The steak house over the road was very convenient.

I was booked in for three night. On arriving back for the second night, there were no clean towels, no clean cups and white powder on the floor, around the bed. Went to reception to complain, to be told housekeeping weren't going into rooms and to speak to someone in the morning. I did manage to get some clean towels. Spoke to someone in the morning to be told they had cleaning staff problems and should have been advised!! For the money being charged to stay, this was shocking. Terrible experience.

My team should have informed you that stay overs are only serviced on request so when you complaint about it you got a refund for that night and Housekeeping was informed to service your room for the remaining stay. The white powder is used to prevent bed bugs and because it's used on the bed frames when a guest uses the bed it is normal for the powder to drop from the frame on to the floor. Stay ruined by overcharging

On arrival I was double charged for two rooms after checking out I was further charged for a third room

Regarding the charge on arrival of £274 I can inform you that it has been refunded during the weekend and should be in your bank account in 3-5 working days and I deeply apologise for that. You originally booked 1 twin room on our website on the 17/08 at 17:36 and then 2 twins on booking.com on the same day at 19:06. You were checked in to your website booking and one of the booking.com bookings leaving the 2nd booking as a no show that we charged booking.com virtual card for £135. I will refund these £135 back to booking.com and you will need to contact them to get that amount back. Again I apologise for the confusion that these bookings created because I guess that the booking on our website was a double booking? The staff on reception and all the staff we met were helpful and kind. The problem was the cleaning of the rooms. Our room was only cleaned once and our sons not at all. We understand there must be an issue with the cleaning services and hope this will be resolved by the next time we stay as we usually have a good stay with you.
