Experience was good. Unfortunately the coffee machine was broken and I had one hour between check in and taxi arriving to get changed for my evening out but at least 40 minutes of that was taken up with a facilities chap in my room trying to sort the coffee machine out. I couldn't change in the bathroom as there was no privacy (window instead of a wall) so it was all a bit of a rush in the end.

This was the 3rd City Novotel where I have stayed. It is less well situated than the Tower Bridge and Blackfriars for the underground but good for Tate Modern and the South Bank. The room was quiet and very well appointed. The restaurant about what I have come to expect. It was closed on Sunday but this was not stated in the brochure in the room.

« Room very quiet could use additional amenities »

Things I liked: - quiet room - drinks - free wifi things that could use improvement - toiletries - needed conditioner and moisturizer - pillows were firm and had a strange shape - rate structure - five rates over six nights really hard to submit expenses

« We didn't get what we paid for! »

Paid £199 for 3 adults (friends) in a room. Told on arrival we'd been upgraded which was great, however there were 2 bottles of water, 2 tea bags, 2 glasses, 2 mugs, 2 dressing gowns/robes - it had been booked for 3 people not 2!! The sofa bed was a disgrace - had a ridge running down the middle of it about 2 inches deep that I kept rolling in to all night and walking up every half an hour with a numb leg (I have photos of the bed) - it also dipped at one end so I couldn't even sleep flat. There were not enough pillows in the room. The "bathroom" was open plan - no good for 3 friends sharing - we couldn't undress for the shower in privacy and even the shower itself had mirrored glass that was actually see through and showed whoever was in the there. There were also pubic hairs in the toilet. When I told the front desk about the state of the mattress the next day I was told that all the mattresses in the hotel were like that and if I didn't like it then I should have asked to swap rooms - I didn't go to bed until midnight, I'm not going to come down in the middle of the night and ask to change rooms when we already have all our belongings unpacked. No sympathy from the front desk, she took my email address and said the general manager would be in touch with me to discuss my issues and I have not heard a thing since- can't say I'm surprised. Very disappointing given how much the room cost and how nice Accor group hotels normally are.

The location was fantastic. The rooms were quiet with the beds being extremely comfortable. Reception, Bar and breakfast staff were polite and professional. We will definitely be staying here on our next London trip.

« Enjoyed my stay »

I stay in this Hotel on the regular basis as it's quite close to the office. This time my flight was changed and I came earlier than initally planned. Knowing the circumstances the Hotel's staff was very kind and arranged the early check-in for me. This was extremely helpful. The Hotel is recently re-furnished. The contintinental breakfast is very nice and tasty with good selection of the options. The wi-fi connection is stable enough to work. The bed is very comfortable and cosy.

Overall positive. Breakfast staff friendly. Dust on top of wardrobe but cleaned once identified to housekeeping . The shower in room leaks under door to bathroom floor. You may need to replace seal.

« London calling...families! »

Nice hotel to stay with family (my kids 5&7y). Good location with short walks to many interesting place and London transports accesses (bus, metro and trains). Breakfast with large choice of any kind of food; maybe only waffles/pancakes not warm enough in some cases. Staff at the top level (ALL, From receptionist to housekeeping team!), good restaurant/bar with live music in some days. The only (minor) concern was the elevators: only one working during our stay leads some time to queues (>5min to reach the room).

« Terrific hotel,our sixth visit will not be our last. »

We enjoyed every minute of our stay. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel has been recently extensively renovated and has a fresh modern feel about it.Good bar and restaurant culture with live music three nights per week. Happy to come back at any time. Comfortable rooms. Great location very near the Borough market and London bridge railway station.
