Well located quiet hotel

Great location in a quieter location but still close to main tube stations. Friendly staff that made a fuss of our 7 year old. We booked an executive room which had a large bed plus double camp bed, and it didn't feel cramped by city standards. The obscure glass that can be turned on and off between the room and bathroom was great and was a big novelty! Late check out is standard on Sundays, which I wasn't aware of, so had paid an extra £25 online. When discussed with the hotel reception they organised a refund straight away. Will definitely stay again, and having a view of The Shard from our room was an added bonus.

I booked and completed check in on the app. We arrived to find an extra bed made up which I had not requested. The receptionist was excellent and immediately changed our room and we ended up with an upgrade which was much appreciated. We had a comfortable, clean room with good facilities including a coffee maker. We had a meal and on asking for it to be charged I was initially told this couldn't be done despite the charge against my credit card on the app check in. This was eventually sorted out. 24 hours after check out I received a very strange email supposedly from your front office. This stated that my credit card failed a security check. I have contacted Accor central and my credit card provider both of whom are as puzzled as I am. These supposed issues with my card, in the restaurant but not at reception, and then the email are making me very concerned about security. I have tried contacting the hotel directly to discuss but the telephone does not appear to get answered. This is a shame as the stay in itself was very good. I suspect the issue may be with the app but it does raise major alarm bells.

Good location but too many problems

The location is very good, pretty much close to everything. However, too many flaws for a 4* hotel. We booked a room with late checkout - 5pm. Upon arriving, they had us down as late check out 3pm so I was asked to show receipt of 5pm late checkout which I did (not a big issue as mistakes happen) The room - not clean, quite far from.being clean. The bathroom had shoes marks on the floor, the surfaces were dusty. In particular, the corners of the desk were extremely dirty - it was black!! The hairdryer had hairs on it from previous guest(s). The worst thing is the rail for the hand towel below the sink was rusty. Surely this is a hygiene/health and safety issue? Also, the room is extremely noisy, you hear cars/mopeds/motorbikes very clearly at night when trying to get to sleep. I appreciate that it's not entirely Novotels fault, but maybe they need thicker windows or better soundproofing. The next day, we went out for lunch and came back to the hotel at approximately 2pm. The hotel staff stopped me and asked about my checkout time being 3pm, again, I mentioned and showed proof that my late checkout was at 5pm. Upon my surprise, they had already deactivated my key cards so I wouldn't be able to access my room..... They had to reactivate before letting me back in. It wasn't even 3pm yet and I feel like I'm being shooed away!!! It gets worse, I get back to my room and I can tell someone has been in it. I didn't open the curtains before leaving the room, but when I came back in, the curtains were wide open.... What if I was taking a shower or getting changed?? What if I left valuable out and they went missing?? This is not acceptable. I'm utterly shocked this is the level of service provided at a 4* hotel. Not acceptable. I hope the management team read this and reflect on my comments above. For reference, my stay was on 07/10/2021 - room 548

I am noted your feedback as requested, and rest assured it has been taken seriously. I have addressed the issues in the room that you indicated and have rectified them. My apologies that there was a confusion with your checkout time. All keys processed through the hotel system are deactivated at 12pm so please don't feel this was a direct push from reception to block them, it will happen to every guest. Please just stop by reception and we will reprogram them. I must agree that is is a less than ideal situation that a member of staff entered your room after 12pm, I am sure our housekeeping team were checking to see if the room had been vacated. With all this said, I would love to be able to host you again at the hotel with 30% off the best available member's rate and a complimentary upgrade to a suite for your stay with complimentary breakfast as well. I have also taken the liberty to process you 4000 courtesy points on your membership card, just allow a few days for this transaction to process. Returned to the same hotel at the end of our trip. Smaller room than before (a minus) but the window could be opened completely (a big plus). Overall very good service and value for money. The breakfast staff were outstanding! Would definitely return

We stayed at this hotel for a week in order to attend a wedding. We specifically picked this hotel for its location (not far from where our daughter lives) and also its convenience for visiting the various places we wanted to go to. From check-in through to when we left the staff were very nice and helpful, particularly John and Tim on reception. The room was very nice as was the hotel in general, to the point that we have decided that this is our go to London hotel for future trips.

The hotel was in an excellent location for our itinerary. It was comfortable and clean throughout. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good, as was the food in the bar. The only real criticism would be the lighting in the room, which was a little inadequate particularly in the wardrobe area.

at central location. friendly staff. stayed in standard rooms with family. great views of city skyscrapers from window. we have to use whatsapp service to ask for room service but then the reply says its restaurant service. have to walked down to reception to ask all the things.
