We came to the Novotel Milton Keynes on Saturday 11th January after booking a conference room for a meeting. We paid for tea, coffee and biscuits, and also bacon rolls to be served just after everyone arrived. We found that the tea and coffee was cold when it was served so nobody touched any of it. the bacon rolls were also cold and fatty. We also did not have the biscuits served with the tea and coffee, which we had paid for. Very disappointed.

« Rooms , reception & leisure very good - Restaurant Poor quality & service. »

Small problem of blocked sink in room sorted promptly, the reception staff are very helpful and polite. Having stayed a total of 8 nights recently, we have eaten in the hotel restaurant only twice and never again. Both times the food has been lacking in choice and quality, the waiting staff are so inexperienced or uninterested - it’s hard to tell which - they are Inattentive and lacking in basic table skills. The lady that the other waiting staff refer to as the supervisor is the closest to rude you could achieve without actually being verbally insulted by her, she is so blunt and unfriendly that I am surprised she’s employed in a position of contact with customers at all. Please don’t be totally put off as the hotel and its leisure facilities are very good but the restaurant and its staff really need some work.

« Small improvements would go a long way »

Overall very good, welcome was warm. Room 23 looked dated and in need of TLC. Bath showing black mould line around seal so not great. Mixed service quality with waiting staff in Restaurant, some very good but others not so. For example, food just placed down for dinner and no offer of sauces, vinegars etc. Having to then wait for someone to appear and go and ask is not ideal. Apart from that it was an easy and comfortable stay.

Stay was generally ok but the rooms and facilities could benefit from modernising. Swimming pool/Sauna area was very busy in the early evening. Not sure I would stay again.

The lady who ran the breakfast in the morning was the best part. She was very warm and welcoming . The rooms were very clean, making the experience even more comfortable. Unfortunately I didn’t get a chance to try the leisure facilities but my brothers and dad loved it. Areas of improvement perhaps even more welcoming front of house staff when we arrive for check in.

Hotel overall was nice and staff were friendly. Room was quite small considering we had to have a sofa bed out which didn’t leave much space in the room. Only provided 1 towel even though there were 3 of us staying. Tea facilities weren’t replaced when we checked in so only 1 tea bag and 2 mugs. Bed sheets were not cleaned properly found pet hair on the bedding most probably from guests before who may have had a pet in the room.

« good, polite staff, excellent buffet breakfast, stylish entrance area »

room for improvement: 1) staff spent too long checking us in (particularly since we'd already checked in online) and, even more so, checking us out, when there even seemed to be some suspicion that we hadn't yet paid in full - travelodge is much better in this respect, incidentally - there you are always treated like an old friend and valued customer, even if the reception staff have never seen you before! 2) breakfast staff quite surly and quick to clear us out, also to put us on a poor, sl grubby table by the door in order presumably to save themselves clearing up time later (again TL much better in this respect - a shame because the breakfast itself was very good one bedroom missing a towel

Hotel and facilities very nice. Could be a bit cleaner in places. For some reason we were initially put in a room where the extra bed wasn't made up and there were a lot of noodles on the floor! Receptionist appeared to be on her own (also working the bar!) but she was very responsive and helpful, quickly finding us another room and even offered to carry our bags. The room we were moved to was much cleaner and made up correctly, although the first floor corridor looked like it needed vacuuming.

Excellent, we are a family of four and we were very impressed by our stay. Valantin the barman/waiter was extremely good and friendly. He made our visit special in every way. All other staff are were great too but he deserves a special mention. A+

It was, once again, a lovely time, but the doors on the accesible rooms are heavily sprung which makes it difficult to maneuver the wheelchair and hold the door open at the same time.
