« Clean sheets, cramped, organisation a little sloppy »

Hi, our room was clean, and bed comfortable thank you. A few things stood out though that should be improved: - dark carpet in hallway was very dirty and no attempt to remedy this was made during our overnight stay (felt nasty) - breakfast was fine, but buffet wasn't set up fully - girl made us a coffee but didn't wipe the milk frother afterwards and heated the entire large jug of milk for one cup (this didn't inspire confidence as felt very sloppy (she was friendly though, just need to improve professionalism)

« Great staff, great location , great price and cleaner than most of the five stars i have stayed in . »

I dont do reviews i dont want to waste my time but for this place i will make an exception . I cant say enough about how good this place is . Fantastic super friendly staff nothing was too much for them and even though the place was at full capacity, great location little shopping center 2 min drive or 10 min walk , you can heat up stuff in the down stairs microwave , you can get a fresh breakfast if you need it . It is cleaner than most five stars i have stayed in ( and i like very clean) , and obviously the price is great. Have stayed there before and will stay there again. The only little thing they could improve is being able to make reservations over the phone . I did the first time a 2019 but could not get hold of them day after day for 2020. They dont seem to pick up . Goes straight to answering machine and they dont ring back. Had to do via internet . They need to answer the phone . But in saying that im planning a trip again in 1 month and I will stay there again .

When booking 4 months earlier, I asked for a quiet room inward facing of the carpark as I was attending a conference and needed a good night sleep. I also repeated this requirement the day of check-in via a phone call. After arriving at around 11pm as my flights were delayed, what I got, was a room facing on the outer of the hotel overlooking on of the side streets where street noise entered the room. On entering the room, the light over the sink had blown and the toilet seat hinge was broken which meant the seat moved and you see where the toilet hadn't been cleaned properly in the spot where the seat had previously been fastened, which would make anyone looking at it nearly physically sick. On reporting this to Reception early on the Saturday morning, Staff didn't seem that concerned and stated that as it was the weekend, these items may not be able to get fixed, which I thought this explanation was unexceptionable. On my return to the room after 9pm on Saturday night, i found the room had been served and repairs to the light and toilet had been made. However, the room must had been served/cleaned before the repairs had been made and there was grit on the toilet/shower floor area and throughout the floor in the room area as you could feel it when walking bare foot. I mentioned this on the Sunday morning. When entering the room approx 3pm on the Sunday afternoon, the floor were wet. It looked like someone had mopped the floors with a very wet mop but didn't dry mop the room. It took a number of hours before the floors dried.

Dear Guy, I do apologise that this was your experience within the hotel. I have looked into the booking and found that you were placed in the only room we have that is furthest way from the highway, granted it is facing the side street that overlooks the residentual area behind us. I do apologise if there was street noise from this area the particular night you stayed, however, this tends to be the quietest room we have on the property most evenings. I am aware of the lights and toilet seat in the room as when reported to the receptionist she called myself before 8am and I taught her how to install a toilet seat as well as ensured we had the correct light fixtures on site. As we had our plumber on site we asked him to do a full service in your ensuite to ensure there were no other issues to arise during your stay. We have spoken to the contractor for leaving behind grit in your room as when we pay them for a service we expect them to not leave anything behind. The check in process was seamless and the general facilities were worn and old. The ATM was busted and the car park was overly full. Our room reminded me of a tiny ship cabin, but it was clean. There were knobs missing of the bathroom door which made complying with their steam issues a challenge. But our bed was comfy - bring your own pillows and face washer though!

Ibis Newcastle (Wallsend) was... okay.... but the woman at the counter saw how many bags me and my partner and still gave us a room at the very top floor on the far end of the hall... saw us struggling up the stairs with said bags (They were all very large and had multiple bags) and didn’t offer any sort of help only forced a smile and asked us to step aside so she could go do something else.

We do upgrade our rooms and move them around pending availability to assist where we can when making bookings. We have disability access rooms on the ground floor that are able to be booked direct with the hotel and automatically provide them to those who require when available. I am sorry that these were booked your night of stay and that my staff weren't able to assist with your luggage. I have spoken to them about the little extra mile things we can do. Friendly greeting and service on arrival and throughout my stay. A rain water leak in my room used 2 bath towels to contain, which I did inform front desk staff know about on both mornings I was there.

more than adequate accommodation. Clean, good air con, well located, comfy bed, good hot water, decent towels and the continental type breakfast was fine. Only negatives would be the big step up into the bathroom and the water splashing out of the shower.

« Decent budget hotel with terrible breakfast buffet »

Overall around what I expected of a budget hotel. However I was dissatisfied with the breakfast option and would not consider it in the future. Coffee machine that we weren't allowed to use (had to ask the receptionist to make us coffee, which was so unusual for me!). Old and soggy bread and croissant. And very limited choice of jam and honey which wasn't even available on our second day. And did I mention they ran out of cutlery? The best part was the bowl labeled fruit salad which was nothing but pear in syrup, the one that normally comes in a can.

When i did an online booking i didn't realize i was booking into a prison cell size room with an airplane toilet stuck in 1 corner, A BED YOU HIT YOUR HEAD WHEN SITTING UP, NO DECENT CHAIR TO SIT ON AND A WINDOW THAT DIDN'T LOCK PROPERLY ALLOWING LARGE TRAFFIC NOISE IN.

Here at the ibis Budget Newcastle we offer your basic amentities including a bed, tea and coffee facilities, television, airconditioning and private bathroom. Onsite we have a laundry for washing, drying and ironing and provide a stool in the room. We are more than happy to cater for additional requests including providing additional chairs from our breakfast are and variations to the room type booked by guests subject to availability. We are aware the size of the bathroom doesn't cater for everyones needs and are endeavouring to have this rectified during the next refurbishment.
