ibis budget Rueil Malmaison 2 stars

This is a modern, clean well designed hotel in the Rueil business area, quite close to the RER station, and surrounded by office buildings. The hotel breakfast is simple but satisfying, and the staff here have always been very polite and helpful. The rooms are a bit smaller and basic than the nearby Novotel, but cost significantly less. The windows in the rooms do open, which is nice if you prefer fresh air rather than the air-conditioned version only. The television includes one or two foreign stations including BBC World for the news. The bed is quite firm, which for me is not a major issue. For the money, this is a good option.

I had to leave one day early due to impending transportation strike. I notified the front desk clerk that I would be checking out the next day instead of staying the next night and was only able to get a credit for the stay and not a refund to my bill. I am a Schneider Electric employee and my company uses the hotel a lot but I don't personally as I am from the US. It is not convenient or feasible to use the credit offered within our current system so we are just out that money. I prefer to have a reduction in the amount charged to the credit card. Totally not satisfied.

The room and breakfast were globally nice but some improvements could be done on the sound insulation of the room.

Good enough facilities. Close enough to Train station. Reasonable cost. Better food selection for breakfast.
