When I checked in, the receptionist suggested a larger room, but I declined as I was alone and didn’t think I needed a room with two beds. I should have taken her at her word—the room was, as she said, really tiny! But that’s on me. The bed was really comfortable, the bathroom was gorgeous, the Lanvin toiletries were great, and there was a yoga mat in the room, which was a useful touch! Every staffer I interacted with was helpful and friendly in both French and English. Would def recommend.

Great location, professionally run, comfortable bed and beautiful bathroom. Some dated decor- eg carpets and room wall coverings. In room, there could be more art work and what pictures there are could be better positioned to improve ambience. Pricing transparency should be improved - specifically for mini bar, phone calls and additional room service costs (eg delivery charges and taxes). I’d be more likely to use these services if I knew what they’d cost. Cost transparency problems continued at checkout. I did not receive a full bill to consider in advance of payment (whereas I did when I stayed at the Sofitel in Paris.) Payment was taken before I’d seen the bill - I was quoted verbally at the counter and, as there was a line forming, felt pressured to authorise payment before feeling sure the accounting was accurate. I did not receive a receipt for the credit card charge, so still need to check this was handled correctly, and this impacts my peace of mind. When I was handed a bill after payment was taken, it could have more clearly laid out the difference between the payment I’d made in advance of the trip (listed as a credit) and the final payment - i.e. it would have been clearer to see a sub total and the final balance.

« Not up to Usual Standards »

There was an extended power outage late afternoon, by the time I returned to my room @ 7:30 pm it was very cold and there was a stale smell. Plus, it was obvious the toiletries had been used already by a previous guest. When I open them, you could see they'd been used and were only partially full. Otherwise, it was lovely - I checked in early, staff were very friendly etc. Just a few snags this time around. Not enough to keep me from staying again but you should keep an eye on the little things in the guest rooms.
