Hard beds and terrible check out

The hotel is modern but has very hard beds. The worst part was check-out which took 30mins as there was only 1 member of staff working on a Sunday morning - an obviously busy time. This meant an annoying delay to our onward journey.

Very pleasant stay. Disappointed the restaurant was closed in the evening and that we had to pay an extra €3 per kids breakfast despite booking a room with breakfast included. The biggest disappointment was the quality of the breakfast: poor selection, very average quality of the items available, bad presentation. Despite the COVID-19 measure it is surely possible to make something much better.

Modern hotel on good location

We stayed with our 2 kids at the Novotel for 3 nights. Very friendly and helpful staff, especially the young guy D. Reichmers at the reception. Because of Covid our room hasn't been cleaned, also not when we put the sign on the door. That was a little bit of a disappointment, that we didn't report there. I guess housekeeping already passed our room when we put the sign. We had to request for a water kettle, mugs and teabags. The minibar was also empty. The underground is just downstairs which makes it easy to travel around, especially with the Hamburg Card. Overall we had a very good stay.

When we book a room for 2 adults and 2 kids, we expect that the sofa bed for the kids are also ready when we arrive. The bed was not made and the was only blankets and pillows in the drawer of the bed. We had to ask for bedsheets. We asked for that and went out for a walk. When we came back we only had sheet for the matress, NOTHING for the pillows and blankets/quilts !!! So the kids just slept without that for 2 days.
