« Could be a really nice place »

The hotel is in very good area. And I think this is the major advantage. The rooms are big and equipeed with kitchenete. However the rooms are dirty and full of ants. Window blinders full of mashrooms, sofa bed so dirty and stinky that looks like taken from the garbage. All dishes available in kitchenette - dirty. I could point many many more examples but I don't think this will change anything. We even tried other room, but was very similar. The cleaning service is under hotel standards as well. You get 3 pcs of soap, 3 pcs of shampoo, and 1 set of toilet paper. And this for 3 weeks stay. Nobody ever gave a new soap when it's finished. To get the toilet paper I had to ask 3 times... Then we got 2 more sets of paper. But 1 set disappear the next day... During our 3 weeks stay the toilet was cleaned maybe 1 time. The shower cabin - never. The plus for clean towels. Many other strange things like disappering sofa bed sheets etc. Another thing is the breakfast which actually was very nice and hold us in this hotel. The food is really good, but sometimes the fruits were fermentated, probably from the day before (water melon, melon, grape). The major problem during the breakfast is lack of free seats as half of places are not cleaned after previous guests. However the people working in the breakfast place are very kind and nice. Generally we got used to the hotel standard, as it is similar to other Brazilian hotels. But choosing Mercure - the international brand - I was hoping for a bit more than we used to know from the past. One more thing - I tried to get the commercial invoice for our stay - I got it with wrong data. I was asking maybe 3-4 times to send me a proper invoice. Until today I did not get it.

The reception crew were great. The pool was great. This is our home away from home. We come here once a year sometimes more. Our 1 bedroom apt was awesome. Cable and WiFi worked beautifully. Since it’s equipped with pots and pans we had wonderful dinners with friends!

From the wonderful welcome from Ms. Andressa and Rebecca to the housekeeping staff, our stay here it’s like second home. Everything worked perfectly, plenty of channels and WiFi. I recommend this hotel to everyone! For us, 5 stars!

we enjoyed our stay in Ipanema mercure ,it was sited perfectly for both Playas and had a nice swimming pool which we used daily. When I had my phone and wallet stolen the staff helped me call my bank and arrange blocking my cards and setting up an alternative means of getting funds, without this help the holiday could have been a disaster.

As described in the title, the apart-hotel is old and falls short of typical Mercure standards. The room was clean, but looking old and very basic. This was "ok" for 1 night, but I wouldn't repeat again. The breakfast was good but lacked variety of choice. Reception staff were nice but lacked flexibility to solve small issues - I took a taxi which didn't accept card (must have been the single one I encountered in my week-long trip to Brazil) and the reception staff refused to settle the taxi bill and let me pay by card at checkout. Moreover, they didn't issue an invoice at checkout and I had to contact Accor Hotels and request it later.

We had a great experience, unfortunately our flight was delayed so we missed our first night, but we were able to check into our room around 11am on the second day and the reception staff were very helpful. They assisted us in booking tours and were able to suggest activities to do around the area which they wrote on a map. They booked us taxis when needed and made sure everything was ready for us as needed.

« Good localization but very old infra-structure »

I have all I needed for an one night stay, but I wouldn't like to stay more, because all the furniture are very old, from microwave to bed. Bedroom TV remote control were not working (I used the other one available). The drain in bathroom wasn't enough for the volume of water generated during shower. Besides, breakfast was just ok for such high price, I couldn't see that freshness and variety I expected in a R$300,00/night hotel. Outlets out of standard.

I very much enjoyed my stay. The apartment hotel was in a convenient location, close to both Ipanema and Copacabana beaches and the metro, as well as several supermarkets and other shops. The room on the ninth floor was spacious and very clean. I booked it as a single occupancy. The decor didn't resemble the main promotional photos. It was slightly older and more basic looking, however of a good standard and lived up to my expectations. The kitchen area was a good size with a handy hob and microwave. There was no pots and pans in the room and a notice informed me to request these, which I did and they arrived very promptly. There were no utensils in the drawers such as a tin/can opener, stirring spoon or spatula, just crockery, glasses and cutlery but nevertheless I was able to cook simple meals. The room overlooked surrounding buildings and the hills, a nice city view. Some noise could be heard at night through the windows but nothing to keep me awake. There was a great deal of storage in the wardrobes and cabinets. Breakfast was excellent, very tasty with a wide range of fresh fruit, cereals, hot food, breads, cakes and more. Staff were polite and helpful. I found out during my stay that I was able upon request to leave my luggage on the day of departure for the afternoon due to a late flight (something that I note is not listed on the site or booking.com). Overall, a great value hotel and recommended.

Loved the convenient location. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was best we had on the holiday. The room was really spacious but with no view. It wasn't fancy but all worked well.

My overall experience was not good. I do not want to return. For the paid fee the hotel is under expectations Door did not lock, only when closing it hard (disturbing for all other people at the hotel) room light could not turn off shampoo/soap/shower hat were not renewed

« Change of name, not service »

I stayed a few years ago when this was the Adagio Ipanema. It is now under the Mercure brand but the change has not affected its theme nor the good service from the staff. Located halfway between Ipanema and Copacabana, you can just walk a few block and find yourself in either one. Great price and possibility to cook on your apartment.

« Things in toom not working.! »

No toilet paper rolls! Hotel using pieces of poor quality tissue in dispenser. I had to buy my own toilet paper. Nob in bathroon spray and hose broken. One door to balcony not able to open! Advised hotel. Nothing repsired! I like Grand Mercure Ibirapuera Sao Paulo. Room very good service good.

« Change of name but same service »

Even if I stayed just for one night, the Mercure RJ Ipanema (previously under the Adagio brand) continues to have that treatment that makes you feel at home. Great apartments especially for a longer stay (if you want to cook). Friendly staff and excellent location halfway between Ipanema and Copacabana.
